Rating: Summary: A great collection of some of Kings best early work. Review: All four stories a very good. I do admit though, Rage, is by far his best work EVER. Why it has not been recognized is beyond me. A young high schooler takes control of his class and a psycoligical battle erupts in a most excellect climax. The other three stories hold their own, but are no match for Rage.
Rating: Summary: Stephen King is a True Master Review: The Bachman Books shows that Stephen King is the best writer of horror as well as general fiction. Rage and the Long Walk could possible be the two best novellas in American literature. I could not put this book down. It drew me in and would not let me go.
Rating: Summary: A book to be read again and again Review: This is a wonderful book for anyone who likes suspense. Be ready to lose sleep reading chapter after chapter!
Rating: Summary: The Long Walk is great Review: It's one of the best books I ever read. I loved it. I read it over and over. You should read. GREAT!
Rating: Summary: OW! My feet are sore! Review: How is it possible to find enough words to write about a long walk yet keep your readers walking every bit of the way with you?!! I once walked 60+ miles and this made me feel I walked them all over again!
Rating: Summary: SIMPLY ONE OF THE BEST Review: This is truly a masterpice. That alone would be a fitting review of this book, but I will expand on that.First off of the 4 stories Rage was pehaps the best, followed closely by The long walk.If you have read more recent Stephen King novels and not this, do yourself a favor and read this earlier work from the master. It truly is a book that you cant put down.
Rating: Summary: This was the BEST book i've ever read Review: The Long Walk by Stephen King was an excellently written, suspenseful book. It was very violent, not for the weak-stomached crowd.Every year ther'd be a race of 16 year olds where whoever walked the longest won. The losers, however, were shot by soldiers following behind in a halftrack. The best part was where Barkovitch got shot, he was Garraty's(the main charector)enemy. Everyone hated him and wanted him to get shot. I give The Long Walk 5 stars, and I would reccomend it to anyone who likes violent, suspenseful books.
Rating: Summary: This book was very good Review: I like the book because it was the kind of book that left you in suspense and kind of horrified if life in the future would really be like and also what the game shows would be like. I think the book reminds me of hunting because they have this poor man running around like a deer or some other kind of animal for his life just so he could get money for his family just so his daughter wouldn't die. I think that this Stephen King book is not one of his usual kind of horror books. I think this book is a good one for other people to read.
Rating: Summary: Best fiction I've ever read!! Review: I read this collection about 8 years ago, and the images were so vivid that I still remember them clear as day. Since then, I have read a few of King's other books and seen some of the movie renditions, and I belive that none of them even compare to the quality of the four stories in this book. (The movie version of Running Man was a major disappointment after reading the story.) My favorite of the collection was Rage, followed by The Long Walk, The Running Man, and finally Roadwork. I highly recommend this collection to those who love King and especially to anyone who has yet to read his work and would like to see an excellent sample of his talent.
Rating: Summary: A vision into the future Review: Rage is alot like reading todays news. But still is almost like dreaming. The Long Walk was sad and yet madden for me. The Running Man was a heart warming and chilling story. I believe that anyone would like to read. All together I would say that this is a 10 in my book.
