Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Chilling and captivating!
Review: Wow
Like John Knowles "A Separate Peace" gone awry - this book is a psychological journey down outsider's lane...A tale of an all-boy's boarding school, a murder and an ending with a surprise big twist - this book has it all. I read it in one day, although I had to keep putting it down, I wanted to prolong the ending. I did not want it to be over. The protagonist, Albert or "stinky" as he is called by his classmates (most of them do not even know why he is called that)is an outsider, always wanting to be on the inside and tries despartly to fit in. Until one time it goes a little bit too far. This theme will follow him throughout life, as we learn in flashbacks throughout the book. He is constantly looking in. Do we feel sorry for Albert or do we find him cold and calculating? You decide. If you enjoyed this book, check out Adam's Fall by Sean Desmond which takes you on a haunting ride through a boy's year at Harvard's Adams House. I hope to read more from Donald Silverman soon!
