Rating: Summary: could't put it down! Review: I read this in one sitting, ignoring my life until the book was finished. Thank goodness I was on vacation! The images were so vivid that I feel I have already seen the movie which is sure to be made. When can I read the sequel?
Rating: Summary: A Great Read Review: Intriguing, suspenseful, and holds you til the very last page, this first novel by Mr. Silverman is surely a winner. Characters are gripping, flawless. Who among us hasn't wanted to "get even"? I only hope the author is busy at work on number two.
Rating: Summary: I lost interest 3/4 way through! Review: No offense, but I couldn't even finish this book! It's very repetetive and droll! God, the main character is a big self-pitying bore. It's not very often that I invest a week of reading and then don't care enough to finish the book. Sorry, Donald!
Rating: Summary: You know who did it. Review: On the first page the reader learns who did it. But why? What led up to the murder? Will he escape detection? And will he kill again? I hope you will be held in suspense until the surprise ending. Then E-Mail me and give me your thoughts. Was it a fun trip? I hope so.
Rating: Summary: First novel Review: The Event was a finalist in the Ernest Hemingway First Novel Contest. It was reviewed favorably by Colin Quinn of Saturday Night Live. This being my first novel, it's hard to get recognized. If you do read my book, please e-mail your comments to me, which will be most helpful with my future work. I hope The Event scares you,the ending surprises you and you find it a satisfying read. Donald Silverman
Rating: Summary: A spooky, eerie look into the mind of a Killer! Review: The twist is unlike other mysteries, you know who the murderer is from the beginning. The mystery is why and how, and, how and if he gets away with it. The main character of this story is an everyday guy you should feel sorry for and by the laws of the world should be punished. But somehow, you end up pulling for him and wishing for a happy ending. When the end does comes you wish the story would continue. It's an ending where everyone gets there just desserts!

Rating: Summary: An Eloquently Written Thriller! Review: There's a new literature genius in the industry and his name is Donald Silverman. Silverman has masterfully crafted a unique work of fiction. The Event is a brilliantly written story about a disillusioned man named Albert Townsend. You will warm to Albert even after he confesses to a horrific tragedy. Warming to a killer?--This is called exceptional writing. See for yourself.

Rating: Summary: revenge of the nerd with a twist Review: This is the story of a bullied teenager who gets away with murder - literally. The author does a superb job of capturing the mindset of someone pushed to cross a line most of us believe we could never cross. How "The Event" colors the protagonist's life afterwards is anything but predictable, and there's a second twist near the end, which I won't give away. Neither nature or nurture alone is an adequate explanation for the crimes committed which makes the story even more provocative. The reader might even find themselves thinking it could plausibly happen to them in the same situation, always a mark of a good author. It's grisly though, in places, so I would not recommend the book for the squeamish.
