Summary: Delightfully chilling
Review: "Down a Dark Hall" was a wonderful read. Suspensful and horrifying, Duncan made the twisted events in the story flow nicely - for the most part. One thing I wasn't very fond of was how details were overused to make moments in the book linger longer than necessary. Also, the ending took place quite abruptly. Yet overall, it really was a classic, original thriller that everyone should read.

Summary: Absolutely Amazing
Review: The story of "Down a Dark Hall" whirled around in my head a deep fog. I was completely entranced by the novel and for the hour or so that it took me to read it, all I knew was the highly creepy world of Blackwood boarding school. As usual it started off slow, like all Lois Duncans book seem to do (I have read about six or more), accelerating more and more until you couldn't tear yourself away the story if your life depended on it! This book had a creepy element to it's tale, and it sends a chill straight down your spine. It's style in writing was very similar to many other Lois Duncan books, and like everything else I've read by her- the plot and writing entranced me every time! (Exactly where does she get these wonderful ideas?) I definitely recommend this book, I just finished reading it fifteen minutes ago and wanted to read other readers' responses to the book immediately! Other great reads by Duncan I recommend are "Killing Mr. Griffin" (phenemonal), "The Third Eye" (highly captivating!) and anything else you can get your hands on by her! She is truly an amazing writer, very suspenseful! She's fantastic at the genre she seems to have focused on in her writing career- teen suspense novels. One might glance at a book cover and brush it off as a silly novel, but the cover of these paperbacks honestly don't her stories justice. The amazing words are what count. Well if this hasn't convinced you to read it, I'm not sure what will! So, c'mon...why aren't you at the bookstore, library, or adding this to your "shopping cart" by right now? :) Get to it!

Summary: One of my faves by Lois Duncan
Review: I've read a lot of books by Lois Duncan, and this has got to be one of the best. It was so suspenseful--ever since the very beginning, then when she discovered that only 4 girls were coming to Blackwood School. You really got to know all of the characters and you could completely imagine all the scenery--the huge, dark building, the musty hallway...it was described perfectly. Two thumbs up!

Summary: Great!
Review: The book Down a Dark Hall is about a young girl named Kathryn, she goes by Kit. Her mom is getting remarried to a man named Dan. They are going on their honeymoon and Kit wants to go with them. Her mom tells her that she can't and she gets all mad at her. Instead Kit's mom sends her to a boarding school called Blackwood. It is very suspicious. When Kit was walking down a hall she had a strange feeling someone was following her. Kit tries to tell herself that it is only her imagination, everything will be fine. Well it is not! This book Down a dark Hall is very suspenseful! There is also another really wierd thing about Blackwood. There are only four girls in the whole entire school! My theory is that there are these ghosts or monsters that eat this poor young children! This book is great. It is so hard to put down! I would recommend this book to a person who is over eleven or twelve years old. It can be hard to read at times and it is also scary at times too!

Review: Mrs. Wagener's 6th period class said- Some thought the book was not that exciting. Some liked the book because it was interesting and it had a good ending. Summary: This book will keep you guessing!
Review: Mrs. Wagener's juniors and seniors said-- This was a good book. It was about 4 girls who go to a boring school and they have ESP, but they do not know about it until later on. The story was short and scary. The best part of the story was the last three chapters. We did not like the book at first (because it was sort of slow-paced), but we really got into it as the story went on. We thought the book was really mystifying. To find out more about it you should buy the book. We're telling you--it's a good book!

It was a great book because you didn't know what was going to happen next.We think that Lois Duncan's Down a Dark Hall was a terrific mystery story -- it was action packed with a long list of great characters in the story. Lois Duncan did a fabulous job writing this novel because we could actually imagine what was happening as it was happening. It was a hell of a scare!
