Rating: Summary: Setting The Mood Review: Remember Me by Christopher Pike is a thrilling tale that makes you feel as if you are actually inside the story, experiencing the excitement and terror, that is revolving around you. Throughout this story, the author uses a certain mood that seems to devour the reader into another dimension, you feel as if you are one of the characters in the plot just waiting to find out what might happen to you next. The book starts off with an innocent girl by the name of Shari Cooper. After awakening from her bed in the morning, it seems to her as if its just another day. Happily walking downstairs, she goes to greet her family. There is something terribly wrong though. They act as if she's not even there. Is this some kind of joke? That's the question Pike wants you to figure out. Is there a reason why they are acting like this towards her. By this time the mood has been set to an intense level. As the reader proceeds, they uncover the deep dark secret of why the family was acting so weird. Shari Cooper was dead, and didn't even realize it. Now the reader is in deep suspension, thinking who killed her and why. Now as they investigate and relive the experience of that night, you, the reader have to become part of the book. There are many places throughout this story where Pike creates a scenario that frightens you, making everything around you come alive. Pike sets the tone, but it's up to the reader to create the mood.
Rating: Summary: My First Pike Book--And Still My Favorite Review: While at a friend's birthday party, 18-year-old Shari Cooper falls from a four-story balcony headfirst and dies on impact. Everyone thinks she either jumped or accidentally fell, but Shari knows she was pushed, even though she doesn't have a clue as to who would have done such a thing. While her spirit is still earthbound, Shari seeks out her killer with the help of a fellow dead high school student, Peter Nichols (the same one the group communicated with while using a Ouija board). To uncover the truth, Shari enters the dreams of her friends and brother, as well as following them around, in the hopes of finding some minute clue that will help explain her death. What she discovers is far more bizarre and twisted than she ever could have imagined. All the while, she's constantly being chased by a haunting black replica of the Grim Reaper (The Shadow), who wants to possess her soul. I absolutely loved this book as a kid. Still do, actually. It was the first book I ever read by Christopher Pike, and that was eons ago, back in fifth grade ('89). "Remember Me" does have two sequels--"Remember Me 2: The Return" and "Remember Me 3: The Last Story"--, but I certainly wouldn't recommend them over this one. I began "The Return" over a year ago and am still dreading having to finish it. It was that bad. Whether you're a Pike fan or not, I highly recommend this paranormal teen thriller. It's absolutely incredible--one of Pike's best books yet.

Rating: Summary: An Excellent Read Review: I've read most of what Christoper Pike has written. All his books are well written and capture the imaginations of his teenage readers as well as adults. Remember me is an excellent book about a teenage girl who dies mysteriously at a party. She hangs around earth as she tries to solver her mystery along side a friend who died a year or so before her. Follow her as she runs from the shadow of her former self to the end where she really finds out what happens that night in Remember Me #2 and #3.
Rating: Summary: Gripping Story Review: The Remember me trilogy is only the second series of books that I have read by Christopher Pike and I find him to a brilliant author. A friend got me hooked on Pike by lending me The Last Vampire series. I was hooked immediately. Remember me is about a young girl, Shari Cooper, who tries to discover her murderer from beyond the grave. Along the way she meets and old friend Peter who had died two years earlier. Together they try to lead a lonely lieutenant to the truth behind her death. This is a book full of suspense, fun, thrill and intrigue. Truthfully one of the best books I have ever read.
