Rating: Summary: THIS ONE GOT ME STARTED Review: I wish I could give Remember Me an 11, because it deserves it. This was the first book by Christopher Pike that I ever read and it has hooked me for life. In Remember Me, Shari Cooper is murdered at a party and tries to track down her killer as a ghost. This simple premise leads to all kinds of fun, grief, revenge and compassion. Remember Me is a gripping book that will keep you reading 24 hours a day, yet it is also a book that makes you think and plays on your emotions. Whether you're a first-time reader of Pike or a veteran, I guarantee you will love this book. The sequels--Remember Me 2: The Return and Remember Me 3: The Last Story--won't disappoint you either. (P.S. You might want to set aside a little extra money to buy a second copy of Remember Me because you'll probably wear out the first.
Rating: Summary: TOTALLY AWESOME Review: This amazingly written story of young Shari Cooper is a definite page turner. There is never a dull moment. This is one of the best Christpher Pike books I've ever read. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes mystery and horror. I give this book 4 stars and 2 thumbs up
Rating: Summary: Wonderful!!! One of my favorites!! Review: This was a great book. the characters are so interesting, especially Shari. She has a great sense of humor. ihave all of the books in the trilogy, and this is definitely the best
Rating: Summary: I was sucked into the mystery. I couldn't put it down! Review: What made me pick this book up in the bookstore was the front cover. On it is the body of a girl lying on the ground. She had been pushed off a balcony. I read the back cover and it sounded good. I flipped through the pages and grimaced. "The words are so tiny," I said to my friend. I almost didn't buy it, but then I did. But please don't let the 200 pages and the microscopic lettering keep you from reading this book, as it almost did me.
The story unfolds with Shari, a pretty, rich, 18 year old girl getting ready for a party. It was supposed to be an ordianry night for her, but it wasn't. While at the party, someone, unknown to Shari herself, pushes her off the balcony of the beach condo she was at. The five other guests at the party were all supposedly somewhere else at the time of her death, so except for the smart police officer assigned to her case, everyone assumed she committed suicide.
Shari's body may have died, but her soul wondered around earth for a few days, unseen by the living until an old friend that died a year before shows her into the Afterlife.
But Shari refuses to go. She sticks around earth to find her killer with the help of her friend. She realizes that there are somethings she has to face, more frightening than death itself, and also that her loved ones are still in danger with her killer on the loose.
I guarentee you will not want to put this book down. You feel like you know the characters. The author, Christopher Pike, tells the story well from a younger girl's point of view. You can find this book in the young adult section of any bookstore. It is followed by Remember Me 2: The Return, and Remember Me 3: The last story.
Rating: Summary: one word summary: Wow! Review: I read this book while going on a vacation because I had nothing else to read... Now I am extremely glad that I did!
I have read several of Christopher Pike's books, and I have
enjoyed all, but I find Remember Me to be the most intriguing because of his individualistic look into death and the life after. It is a story about a young girl named Shari Cooper who dies and meets her old friend, Peter, who had died earlier. Together, they try to convince a cop who is looking into Shari's death that she did not kill herself and that she was murdered. She faces many dificulties while trying to perform this task including her very close brother's pain of losing her, old secrets about who she really is, and the mysterious way of life after death.
Pike introduces many concepts of life and death, especially in the sequals of Remember Me. This is one of the things I enjoyed most about this book. Although it is sad, it helped me realize all the things I want to do before
I die. Pike's aspects of life and death are overwhelming but comforting in a way. I think, What if it were true that we can go on and live after death?
I think that you should read this book because it provides an excellent story as well as many concepts, ideas,
and a happy ending (if there ever was one) about death. Shari Cooper is the perfect character for this book and
Christopher Pike is the perfect writer for the job.
Rating: Summary: Pike is a very witty and intellegent writer. Review: Pike is a truely wickedly charming writer. I have read all of his young adult books and have found each and every one of them as thrilling as the previous. I cannot pick out a "favorite" But "Remember me" was the first book of his that I picked up and I didn't put it down until it I had finished the entire novel. His main character Shari Cooper is a witty and spunky gal who has a bit of a run in with death and decides that she's going to track down her murderer. I began reading Pike when I was in seventh grade, now that I am 21 and a student in college studying to be a Paramedic I still I feel a bit self concious going to the Young Adult section of the book store to search for his books but I cannot resist for, Mr Pike still takes my imagination for a wild and very unexpected adventure. I highly recommend this author and "Remember Me". I hope Mr Pike continues to thrill me with his bizzare tales of horror.
Rating: Summary: Terrific Review: This book brings u spellbound into a world full of deceipts and mystery. I first read this book when i was 13, I am 25 this year, and this book still binds me to it. I totally immersed myself in its plots. Going through the shock Shari Cooper went through upon finding her biological parents are not the ones who brought her up, but instead the maid working there. I adore Jimmy, her brother, the way she adore him. He was protective over her, every bit a big brother should be, even AFTER finding out that she is not his biological sister. I introduced all my friends to this book and all were addicted to this book as I was.
Rating: Summary: Shari Ann Cooper, RIP Review: OMG this book was so sad. I felt sorry for Shari. There is a huge twist to this book. It has to do with Amanda and Shari's birth. I love all of Pike's books. This is one of his best.
Rating: Summary: Moving and Gripping Review: I have read this book over a period of 5 years off and on, and I still enjoy every second of this book. I am actually not a big fan of the author's work except for this series. I think it is thought provoking, magical, and emotional. I would recommend this book to anyone that wanted a good, gripping read.
