Rating: Summary: "Remember Me" - My Most Favorite Book of All Time Review: I just read "Remember Me" a few months ago on a 13-hour car drive. It was so good, I couldn't even put it down. On my trip, I also bought "Remember Me 2: The Return" and "Remember Me 3: The Last Story" It starts with a charming, intellegent teenager named Shari. She tells her story of when she was alive-She had fallen off a balcony at a party. She tells the tale of getting her story out, the one she hadn't even known yet. She had to let everyone know that she hadn't killed herself. And while visiting her grave, she meets up with an old friend. Together, they battle against "The Shaddow" an unknown monster, supposedly out to get them. "Remember Me" is a wonderful book. It's a story of, love, hate, and fear. It is my favorite book of all time and I highly recommend it. Christoper Pike is a wonderful, wonderful author and has inspired me to write some books myself. So, need I say more? Get "Remember Me" and prepare to love it!! Thank you, Stephanie
Rating: Summary: The story is so exciting that you won't get out of your seat Review: Christopher Pike is great. I love this book so much that I almost couldn't put it down. The author wrote a story that really catches my heart and I can't wait to find out the killer at the end. The ending is the climax of the story. This book is about a girl named Shari Cooper who died and then she goes through other people dreams during her afterlife to find out what really happened. I like the main character alot. There are lots of suspects here that you may have to keep track who is he/she. I recommend this book to everyone and I am looking forward to read the sequels.

Rating: Summary: pike fan Review: this was an awsome book. pike has done it again. i have never been good at writing but, oh well. i have not read this in while so bear with me. well it starts out with shari cooper telling about her being a ghost and how she died. and the police thinking it was a suicide. except for one.Yet, we dont know who the killer is. out of 6 people that could have killed her at the party when she was murdered. so it's a who don it type of book. And even if you do figure out who the killer is before it tells you. you will never guess the killers motives. And while the investigation is happening and shari and jimmy (an old friend that came to help her for he is a ghost too.) are there every step of the way. But,something dark is after shari. Will she find out the killer? Will she go into the light? Or will the dark thing that is after her get her? sick, twisted, and awsome. you will never be able to put the book down.
Rating: Summary: What lurks in the heart of Shari? The Shadow knows Review: This was the first Christopher Pike novel I read from cover to cover. And it is certainly one of the most memorable. To this day, when I see a large building, like a condominium complex, with balconies on the sides, I think of Remember Me. For years I couldn't get this book out of my head, but I've been known to obsess to the extreme. All in all, it was very enlightening and poignant. The characters were all fun. Shari was a very witty narrator that kept my attention. Her best friend Jo was also quite the character. My favorite character though was Jeff Nichols, and he wasn't in any of the other books in the series. Basically the plot revolves around Shari Ann Cooper, who at the age of eighteen must face the ultimate inconvenience---death. And she was having such a good time, or so she realizes after it is too late, which tends to be the way it always is. On the other side, she meets up with an old friend, Peter (the brother of Jeff Nichols, though how the two are blood related is beyond me; genetics is weird). She begs him to help her solve her murder, for she knows that she didn't commit suicide as most everyone believes. There is just one little problem though. As mentioned before, she's dead. That means no one can hear her, see her or sense her presence. This is a simple summary, but the book is about so much more. It is very spiritual for a young adult horror book, and I wouldn't even call it horror, though it is suspenseful. And it is tragic. It is not until Shari dies that she finally discovers the truth about who she is, in more ways than one. Once dead, she has the power to finally see herself honestly, but first she must confront the greatest horror of all; the Shadow (aka herself). There is a little incest in this book (unintentional), but I won't get into that. And a bizarre, though strangely cliche, case of mistaken identity. As for the cover, I am disappointed with the picture on my copy. It's just two hands! Why are they always changing the pictures on the covers and making me regret the cover I have? I like the original cover, and this newest one.
Rating: Summary: The Book that got me hooked Review: This was the first Christopher Pike book that I read, and it sparked a small obsession with his storytelling. It is, in my opinion, the best book he's written, although, I enjoyed all of his books, in one way or another. For it's time, it was incredibly clever, and thought-provoking. Even for those that don't enjoy TA fiction, I highly recommend it. It's a very well-written story.
Rating: Summary: One you'll surely want to read again and again... Review: For all the many wonders Pike has written, this is probably my favorite. Although the theme of the book, which is death, may seem a tad jaded and cynical, it is anything but. It offers a unique perspective on the after life; and what being alive truly means. I would say it is the type of book that gives you hope - without coming across as preachy - through the vivid descriptions and solid writing. It is something which touches the optimist in all of us, while still providing fast paced action and suspense. This book tells the tale of Shari Cooper, a young woman whose life has been cut short after being pushed off a balcony by someone very close to her. She later resurfaces as a ghost, although she doesn't know it as a time. We travel with her as she visits friends and family; puzzling who could have killed this charming young girl. What I especially liked about the book were the relations that Shari had with each of the individual characters. We really FEEL the close kinship she has with her brother Jimmy, or the brooding angst she had over her ex-boyfriend, Daniel. The characterization is dead on and painfully accurate, as each character has a unique voice in which they weave into the story. All and all, a delightful tale, worth reading over and over, in my humble opinion. One of the best, you probably won't find something better in the young adult genre, that's for certain.
Rating: Summary: guilty pleasures Review: This book is absolutely unbelievable. I read it about three years ago, and I still find myself grabbing it from the shelf to read my favorite passages again and again...the entire trilogy is great. But I skimmed everyone else's reviews and saw so many people saying they were in junior high...and it made me feel so immature! I'm a senior in high school and I am still hooked on Christopher Pike - am I the only one? I find myself sneaking into the young adult section of bookstores and grabbing his books and then getting out of there as fast as possible. I feel like his books are so mature, and at age 17 they still hit me as hard as they did when I was 12 and I first started reading him; in fact, even harder, because I have experienced a lot more and understand a lot more since. I honestly believe that if the binding was less colorful and the print was smaller, Christopher Pike's YA novels could easily be put in the adult horror section and plenty of people would buy them. I have read the four available adult horror novels of his, and they are the best books ever written. I am starting to ramble, but I just have to express myself!
Rating: Summary: Very original Review: Young adult horror. Shari Cooper dies one night while at a party. She doesn't realize she's dead until the next day when her family acts like she isn't even there. Her death is ruled as suicide, but she knows she was murdered, and she sets out with the help of another ghost, Peter, to solve her murder. Considering other young adult horror writers who were writing around the same time, this was a good novel despite some corny elements. Yes, it was very cliched. Yes, it was cheesy at points. But it was complex, was original, and definitely a page turner. Pike was also very good at displaying emotion. You don't feel cold toward the characters. You may even find yourself remembering feeling these same feelings for people in your life. Definitely something that I reread (once again) in the future.
Rating: Summary: Remember Me...How Could I Forget? Review: Like many, this was the first Christopher Pike book I read back in 1992. I have read many novels since then and this remains one of my all time favorites. I won't recap the plot because it has been posted several times. Because Remember Me is aimed at young adults, you do not have to be a teen to enjoy this book. The reissue unfortunately looks like a crappy made for television movie but don't judge a book by it's cover. After reading Remember Me, you wil always remember Shari Cooper. There are two sequels to the book and regretably, they are full of the silly scientific astrological mumbo jumbo that plagued so many of Christopher Pike's novels in the late 90s. Don't let this discourage you from reading the original and try the sequels but approach with caution. For more memorable Pike be sure to read, Scavenger Hunt, Witch, Whisper of Death, and Monster.
