Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Book Review: I thought that this book was over all very good. It moved very quickly and smoothly. I read this book last night while passing out candy to the trick-o-treaters. It was perfect for a night like that. I love the 100 year old love story that the charactors are sucked into. The ending is somewhat predictable but what Emma(the main charactor)says at the end isn't nessacairaly what you would exspet. I recomend this book to anyone who likes sespence.

Rating: Summary: A Dead Romance Review: It all started when Charley bet Emma couldn't stay over night at the abandoned old house next door by herself. She does go to the Farmington house but comes across a secret about an event that happened there a century ago. She asks her neighbors, the 'crazy' Miss Lobergs, to tell her all they know about the Farmington house. They told her that one of the residents of the Farmington house 100 years ago was a girl called Emma Farmington, and both Emmas looked the same and had the same first name. Both Miss Lobergs thought that it was Emma who got out of the fire and Daniel was left inside. With Charlie and Val's help, she finds out the horrifying truth; it was really Daniel who had escaped. Now all they have to find out is why Daniel is back to haunt Emma...
Rating: Summary: Best book ever Review: Ok well I'll be honest I actually picked up this book becuase I got it confused with the title of a book that had a movie written about it starring Ewan McGregor. but it was so worth the mix up. Emma and Charlie are twins with some kind of physic connection. Emma knows that her best friend Val is so in love with her borther so she asks him to ask her to the dance. He said only if she would stay a night alone in the creepy house next door. Since she's the best friend she is Emma agrees. When shes there Emma trip and falls but is rescued by a handsome familiar staranger. From there things developed into an amazing romance. Everything was fine but there was a sudden disaster and emma was 'woken' by her brother Charlie coming to call off the bet. Emma leaves but realizes a ring that the stanger Daniel had given to 'her' was on her finger. Everytime she went back to the house she was taken into some kind of fantasy land with Daniel. It starts to bug Charlie and he insists that they do something to get Daniel to leave Emma alone. Too bad Daniel will ONLY listen to Emma and noone else. Why is Emma there with Daniel? Why is he so familiar? Will emma ever be able to find out what is happening to her? Seriously you have to read this book I swear I cried at least twice when I was reading it. It is definately the best book I've ever read. maybe I should mess up titles mor often.
Rating: Summary: The House Next Door Review: On a whim, Emma Donovan bets her twin brother, Charlie, that she can spend the entire night alone at the spooky, abandoned house next door. The place is seriously creepy, but she's determined to overcome her fears and prove her brother wrong. Until she finds herself reliving a horrific night from the house's past and a passionate love with a handsome -- and strangely familiar -- young man. When Charlie finds her, he's sure it was all just a dream. Yet Emma has persistent paranormal experiences involving the house and the young man from the past. As her "dreams" intensify, Emma becomes convinced that they are very real...and that she has a dreadful part to play in the supernatural reenactment of a tragic love.
Rating: Summary: A thrilling supernatural romance for teens. Review: The house next door to Emma Donovan is a creepy, falling-apart old mansion that's been abandoned for many years. The house has always spooked Emma, and every time she looks at it, she gets a cold feeling of dread. When her best friend, Valerie, doesn't have a date for the school dance, Emma begs her twin brother Charlie to take her, and he agrees - on the condition that Emma spend a night alone in the house next door. Emma agrees, not knowing what she's getting herself into. Because during her night in the house, Emma will relive the events of many years ago, and a love with a handsome young man that can only lead to tragedy. Charlie says it was all a dream, but Emma knows it wasn't. She's determined to find out the truth about what happened in the house all those years ago, but is she risking her own life in the process? I highly recommend this book to teens who enjoy supernatural thrillers.
Rating: Summary: The House Next Door Review: THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR The novel, The House Next Door, by Richie Tankersley Cusick, is a story about a teenage girl who falls in love with a dead worker. Emma, the teenage girl who one day makes a bet with her brother, Charlie, tries to spend the night in the old Farmington House next door. Daniel, the dead worker, died in a fire at the Farmington House less than 100 years ago. The book is about Emma and Daniel falling in love and the Farmington House catches on fire again. Emma finds herself back in time when the Farmington House was on fire. In the House Next Door, the characters I liked the most were Charlie, Val, and the Miss Loberg sisters. I like Charlie because he was always calm and he gets injured and almost dies. I also like Val because she is pretty and she takes care of Emma. I like the Loberg sisters because they took care of Emma and they're cool. The characters I disliked were Daniel and Emma because they do way too much mushy stuff. In this book, I don't think there was a theme. What I liked most in the book, was when Charlie, Val, and Emma go into the Farmington House and it catches on fire! The part I didn't like was when Daniel and Emma danced; I didn't like that party very much. I wasn't very satisfied with the ending because all that happened was they got away from the house and nothing happened. In this book, I think the author does a great job of keeping the reader interested. The author tells just what the reader needs to know! The vocabulary in this book was for the most part easy. I liked everything about how the book is written! I think the age appeal should be 8-14 because anybody under 8 might not get it, and anybody above 14 might not be interested. I would recommend this book because it's a great book and filled with lots of action! I think this book deserves ***** because it's a great book! CAC
Rating: Summary: Thrilling Review: The idea was an old ne, but it was twisted around and it works. The only thing that made me give this book only four stas was that I thought it leapt too quickly into the relationship that Daniel had with Emma. I thought maybe it was too abrupt. The ending was thrilling and the problem between Emma and Charlie was finally worked out, which gave the ending a satisfying touch.
Rating: Summary: Fab Review: The last book I read verbatim was Razzle by Ellen Wittlinger. Before that, I never read a book verbatim. Even my varied top ten list is filled with skipped-some-sentences books. Now I have an addition to my "Best If Read Verbatim" list. Unfortunately, unlike Razzle, The House Next Door holds less attention than it deserves. The House Next Door is nothing like what I expected. I expected a cheesy teen suspense story. I've read a couple of those, and in doing so have made me reluctant to read such genre. I'm glad I decided to give the genre a try again, and I'm happy the rep was one of Richie Cusick's works. Nice story, great character development, fab masterminding, and a well-thought story line. One of the best even beyond its genre.
