Rating: Summary: Runaways best in series Review: I knew that there would be one book to tie the other four together but i wasn't sure how they were going to do it. I was pleasantly surprised and read this book from cover to cover and didn't put it down. Runaways goes into more detail about the girls personalities and gives you a realistic sense of how you think they will act when they are adualts. I really hop that they continue this series into adulthood.
Rating: Summary: Much better than the first four books! Review: After reading the first 4 books in this series, I really didn't think this one would be any better. Boy, was I ever wrong!!!!! RUNAWAYS was really great!!! The 4 girls set off on their own, after a few bad experiences with their foster father. I read this in 2 days and had I had more time, I would have been done in a day!!! If the 1st four books disappointed you, this one will change your mind!!!! I can hardly wait for the new book "Olivia" to come out!
Rating: Summary: Good, addictive..but not V.C. Andrews! Review: Okay, so I loved the book. I totally devoured it. It was good. But, somehow quite dissapointing...it just wasn't V.C. Andrews. I mean, I don't think 4 17 year old girls would be foolish enough to run away when they didn't have any severe problems. THen doing really stupid stuff that I seriously don't think they'd do. I liked the book, but I want the old V.C. back, not this poorly-written, teenybopper type mess.
Rating: Summary: Runaways: A Review Review: V.C. Andrews' Runaways was a disappointment, similar to the other books of the Orphans series. The characters are not developed fully, and somewhat caricatures. Plots devices are so unrealistic, of the deus ex machina type. They sleep in the car, these old folks take them in. They have their money stolen, they're given jobs! These runaways couldn't even survive in the real world! They make it seem like running away is a great adventure, and in a sense, fun! This is a horrible impression to give readers, especially those who are young and gullible. The ending is very sappy as well. Everyone becoming a great success as adults is really promising and positive, but very unrealistic.
Rating: Summary: V.C. Andrews does it again Review: I read the first 4 books when they came out. From the time I finished Raven, I searched everywhere for Runaways. I was thrilled with the way the series concluded. As another reviewer said, I hope there will be more books about the girls as adults.
Rating: Summary: Finally Andrews has wrote a new story. Review: I am pleased with this book. It is the first time since FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC that She has changed her format. For example: girl is raised by mother, mother leaves her, stays with mean grandmother, falls in love with relative, learns (surprise, surpise) that they aren't related, girls has baby, confronts mother, is finally reunited with loves. Than prequel.
Rating: Summary: Adventurus and fun . Review: I enjoyed this book alot . It was great how they all came together in one last book . I recommennd this book to anyone who read the orphen series .
Rating: Summary: A perfect development of each character Review: The Runaways did what I hoped. It took the characers from the mini books and put them into a plot that developed them further and brought them into three dimensional reality. I hope they consider a series about each girl as an adult. Wow!
Rating: Summary: I loved runaways! Review: Runaways is a good conclussion to the orphan series. After each book i couldn't wait for the next to come out. It is a real page turner! i enjoyed it and i hope you do to!
Rating: Summary: A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT, BUT STILL ONE-DIMENSIONAL Review: Finally, this series picks up a bit and begins to come to life. But knowing this 300 page book with large print was going to be the finale of the series gave me a big clue that it would still be barely involved. The book still reads like a bad pre-teen novel, with the girls making decisions that aren't very justified or intelligent for supposed 17 year olds. Still, it was a page-turner and I found myself wishing it were longer. NOW, what if instead of concluding the series, the writer hadn't copped out? We could have had a larger book from each girl's point of view, and they could have matured further and we could have seen how they lived on their own and fulfilled their dreams (or didn't). There just wasn't much depth to this book, although I wanted there to be. An injustice! The combined length of the mini-novels AND this book probably would have equalled the length (but not the depth) of one original VC Andrews book. Come on, for $7.99 a pop, can't you give us better than this??? VC is dead, yes, and can never be replaced, but asking for quality writing really isn't asking much!
