Rating: Summary: Hot, Raw, Racy - did I say Hot? Review: Michael Pressley's sophomore novel BLACKFUNK II gathers all the momentum from the first book and dives headfirst into a fiery dilemma. Rashaun Jones is defending one of his best friends who has been accused of murder with a lethal weapon. The apriorism is that Tyrone sexed his partner to death.Tyrone is not on trial alone; but the practice of black- funk; a brutal, angry sexual act, is also on trial. The question seems to center around the willingness of the participants. Rashaun has to prove that this was a consensual act and that his client did not enter into this with the intent to take a life; but that this was an unfortunate accident. Amidst all the drama of the court room are Rashaun's personal issues. His recent engagement to Andria, who was a close friend of the victim, brings its own set of problems. Additionally he has to ignore advances by the opposing District Attorney, his former lover, who broke his heart. He also has to deal with advances from the sister of his client who is determined to get what she wants. Will Rashaun maintain his commitment to Andria, will he turn back to an old love, or will he reach out to something new? Mr. Presley pulled out all of the stops with this book. This story will raise all kinds of moral issues and will take readers to the brink of their own sexuality. Leave your imagination at home with this one because the climax brings one to a gripping, spine tingling 'oh-no!' ending. There has got to be more; this story absolutely cannot end here. This is a superb sequel, really a 4.5. -- Reviewed by aNN Brown
Rating: Summary: Average at best Review: The book is well written and it was a easy read, but the end leaves you guessing as did the first book. I like his style of writting, but he does not know how to give a good ending to a story. His first book did not have a goog ending and neither did this one. The book was really good up until the end.

These are fast reads and you get hooked because you're sitting there like is this for real? I read both books in 2 days and the main complaint was the editing so let's hope that it doesn't show in 3.

Rating: Summary: Blackfunk? More like Blackf-ck! Review: This novel is a joke. Who likes this garbage anyway? I read it twice, then had two of my friends read it and we all agree that it is a big waste of time. Also, books should not have numbers in the title like Rocky or Psycho, it gives them a dumbed down feel of uneducated literature. Also, why is everyone in the book black sounding?
Rating: Summary: Okay, but no cigar Review: This was an easy and fun read. But just because you are planning a sequel does not mean you have to stiff the reader with no ending. This is not a way to sell future books. Also the story line was all over the place. A good book to borrow but not to buy.
