Summary: Very fine debut
Review: How could anyone not pick up this book just based on the cover? It is what caught my eye immediately! Fortunately the inside of the book is just as tantilizing as the outside. Larry Brooks has created a world that could just as easily happen to the average Joe, which is the really scary part. Dillon and his wife, Karen have separated. What looks like a chance meeting in a department store between Dillon and the Dark Lady is really something else, and as Dillon's obsession grows for this 'perfect' fantasy gal, the murder happens. The Dark Lady's husband is found dead and Dillon finds himself set up. You will find yourself easily caught up in the twists and turns as Dillon struggles to find a way out of the web the Dark Lady has spun.

All in all- a great read!

Thanks for reading :) **Pandora

Summary: A real page turner!
Review: I couldn't put this book down! I was really impressed and sort of disappointed that this was the first book for this writer. Impressed because I thought it was just really well done . Disappointed because there are no other books to find by this author. The story just pulled me in and I finished it in one night. Great character developement and great twists and turns. I highly recommend!

Summary: A Page Turner
Review: I didn't want to put it down! The characters are well rounded and it's full of suspense. A definite page turner, and a very entertaining read.

Summary: Fantastic Book!
Review: I enjoyed this book so much, I actually have read it twice. I do not think I can say enough great things about this book. I read a lot and I have not found a book in a long time that I couldn't put down. I read it the first time in a 24 hour time period and the second time in a 48 hour time period. It is that good!

Summary: Foolish nonsense.
Review: I found nothing remotely erotic, interesting, daring or thrilling about this "thriller". Try "The First Deadly Sin" instead for something (mildly) kinky and engrossing. The characters were cardboard, the turn of events absurd, the sex almost nonexistent. The main character, Dillon, was alleged to have this dark kinky side, but apparently all he wanted was a smoker who wore black. More silly than anything. This is a case of an idea that could have turned into a good book with a more experienced writer.

Summary: Very outstanding first effort!
Review: I found this book very enjoyable. I read it in the course of 2 days & didn't want to put it down. I didn't think stockbrokers & their "business" could be so interesting. I felt as though I was reading a movie in that I could visualize the entire story. I will never look at a womans black leather gloves the same again!

Summary: Darkness Bound
Review: I just finished this book and could not believe it was a first novel! I read it in less than two days and was definitely hooked! Very suspensful, very well thought out. I definitely recommend to anyone who is a lover of suspense.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: It was OK
Review: I liked the book, but it isn't one that I would highly recommend. The story went along at a pretty good pace but there just wasn't enough suspense for me to give it a higher rating.

Summary: The Darkness of Our Souls
Review: I think it's fairly obvious that we all have a dark side to ourselves we keep hidden from the light. Terrified not only to recognize this side ourselves, but equally afraid of how the world - particularly those closest to us - would interpret this side that is perhaps more true to ourselves than the smiles we share as we nod polite greetings over morning cups of office coffee. I found a liberation and fascination with the story and myself as I read this surreal fantasy into that bitter-sweet world of pleasure and pain. I think you too will see something of yourself in this great work.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book, Great Writer, Great Read
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Larry Brooks for a first time writer exhibits the skill of a seasoned master, almost Hitchcockian (if that is a word). I am now reading his second book, Pressure Points, and too it is great so far. I will read all of his books and recommend it highly.
