Rating: Summary: could be better Review: the two stories truthfully worth it were star's and cat's. yet cat's story was severly down played, and seemed written worse than the rest. cat's was the story you look forward to, rush through the whole book to get to, and find it rather disappointing. yet, this book wasn't so horrible. i have a friend who has been through a divorce and she found it a good story. yet the writing could have been better in cases. drop the rich people; you can try to do good with the whole idea, but it doesn't work in this case. yet part of jade's story was a very good idea, however shortened to merely 3 (?) pages and downplayed horribly (the whole part about the guy over the 'net). that might have made it more interesting. but this isn't my usual type of book.
Rating: Summary: the best author under the sun Review: This book is just as good as any other book she has written.... It has all that you are looking for, adventure and horror.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: This book was very interesting because, it was a really misterious kind of book. These book was a little confusing because it would talk about the old man who was one of the charecters. Then it will talk about hes paintings. But this book at last was kind of misterious when the old men dies. He dies when he paints hes last painting.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Miniseries! Review: This is wonderful! I'm also an orphan with parents and I could very much relate to the children in this series. The stories are very realistic and I can vivdly see it happening as I read. It's very easy to get lost in this book! You'll get attached to each and every character.
Rating: Summary: Tired of the Serial Novels Review: This time around, the Ghostwriter takes the main characters of the next serial novel to a therepy office to discuss their problems and to bring up painful memories. You have Misty, Star, Jade and Cat and the only one of the bunch whose secret and life is truly dark and miserable of the four girls is Cat. Her secret will be no surprise to old time VC Andrews fans, since the Ghostwriter constantly recycles old themes over and over. But the only high points to the entire books, collected her in one edition, is Star's story. She has a tad more backbone then most of the ghostwriter's created characters in any series and had the ghostwriter repeated the formula he used with Star in the Rain character, then I wouldn't have been so disgusted with the Hudson series. With VC Andrews no longer alive, they should not even attempt a serial series. Stephen King I believe is the only living author capable of doing so. VC Andrews had her own writing style that pulled you into the story. The only thing you want to do with this story is strangle it to put it out of its misery. But if you're looking to waste some time and have nothing better to do, then maybe this should entertain you although watching paint dry might be a better way to spend your time.
Rating: Summary: Obviously not Virgina's Writing or Stories Review: Though the book was ok, the ghost writer did not give these characters half of the time V.C. Andrews would have! Virgina could have turned this into a FULL LENGTH series as each of the girls, the therapist, and her sister all had deeper more detailed stories to be told. I could easily see another "Flowers in the Attic" series with details and heart and suspence for anyone of these characters but instead the ghost writer decided to tell us a short summary that didn't scratch the surface :( I expected a book not a summary. I found Misty's story enlightening only because of my own recent divorce -- otherwise boring. Star's was "typical" Jade -- Waaaaaaa... chapters of "poor lil rich girl" whining Cat -- I think we all would have liked to of learned more about her parent's history as well. Overall -- Boring. The sad part is V.C. Andrews herself could have made each one exciting and heartwarming. I only wish she was around to do the honor :( If you're a fan, read the book...you just have to. If you're not a fan...skip it. Either way be prepared to be left a bit empty and feeling as if you read every other page and missed half of the story.
