Rating: Summary: Good.... but not the Best! Review: I've read a lot of Buffy books. SO I expected the same old good Buffy writers. Well I got the writers, but not the quality. It seemed like it could be an epsiode of Angel... but not your favorite! For any Angel fan though, I would recommend reading!
Rating: Summary: Okay Book Review: If you're an avid Angel fan, then you probably already read this. But for those of you who haven't: I'd advise you not to unless you want to end up really confused. Overall, plot was pretty good, but kind of at the climax of the story...it appears as though the writer left out a few pages. It's an alright book, but City Of, Redemtion, Close to the Ground, and all thereafter are much better.
Rating: Summary: Cute scenes Bad Plot Review: If your just getting into the Angel books , do your self a favor don`t read this one. Like so many have said before me , " It grabs you then confuses you." There are a few cute scenes : Like Angel getting a speeding tickett and a scene with a dying old women. Not one of best , not somthing to waste your money on. But hey, don`t judge The series by one badly written book . Redemption and City Of.. are the best.
Rating: Summary: Not for real. Review: It took me a few minutes after I read the book to figure out what had just happened. This book has to be the worst in the series. It tries to mix humor in with Angel's broody nature and it fails. Can anyone out there who watches the show actually picture Angel responding to the question "what are you doing here?" with "livin' la vida loca"? It isn't a terrible book but it just doesn't stand out like "Redemption" for example. It does have it's strong points though but other parts are either confusing or just plain boring, especially the strange ending.
Rating: Summary: Even if you're a fan, don't read this Review: Life's too short to waste your time reading this book.If youinsist on disregarding the above, then at least don't read the last 30pages or so. That way, you can maintain the illusion that the author actually wrote an ending. The flashbacks only served to break the story's continuity, or allow the author to write off her vacation to Indonesia as research, I'm not sure which. So many of the story threads weren't resolved, and what was resolved was done so poorly, it was better left unread. ...The author would've been better off writing "The good guys win. The end." I'd seriously question the intelligence/objectiveness of any reviewer who gave this more than 2 stars. While a rabid Buffy fan myself, and one who's been pleased with the author's other works in the Buffyverse, I found this book to be pure drivel. Never having reviewed a book on Amazon before, this book was so bad that I felt a need for a forum to vent my disgust.
Rating: Summary: Angel's universe expands Review: Nancy Holder dieplays the imaginative writing skills that won her several Horror Writer awards in this tale of the lost and the oppressed in LA. She introduces a bunch of monsters and gods I've never heard of before, and Angel has his hands full fighting them to defend the innocent. She is defenitely one of the best authors of the Buffy books.
Rating: Summary: Another excellant book by Nancy Holder. Review: Not Forgotten was another great book by Nancy Holder. In this book, Angel, Cordelia, and Doyle must help a group of illegal immigrants whose employer plans to sacrifice them to a demon. I reccomend this book to all fans of the television show Angel. It was an exciting page-turner that would make a great episode.
Rating: Summary: Not Forgotten Review: OK, so "Not Forgotten" is a little fuzzy. It dose take a little thought at the end to understand exactly what happened and what it means. But the Angel book line was still trying to find it's way. The story is that Indonesian fire death cult have moved to L.A. to find a sacred book important to their rituals. One of the cultist gets one of Angel's cards (never explained how) and tries to enlist his help. Meanwhile, Angel, Doyle (ah, the good old days of Doyle) and Cordilia are trying to save slaves from sweat shops. Like I said, the end is a little vauge, though it isn't that hard to figure out. What I did have a problem with was that Angel wasn't there as much as I'd like, nor was Doyle, Cordy, and Kate Lockley. Wolfram and Hart was also conspicuosly missing. The bad guys were kind of cool, and I liked that the evil fire-death god was still alive at the end. The flashback to Ireland was sort of pointless, also. So, I don't know what to say about this one, maybe it's not that bad, but it isn't that great either.

Rating: Summary: Stunning moments desolve into confusion Review: The opening grabs the reader and pulls you into a strange world of the dead and the near dead. Angel flash backs are always interesting to further establish his character. Also the faint Buffy references provide a nice continuity. But the flash backs between Angel's life, Meg's life and the past often break up the action. In the end as masks are removed and villians become victems there is no satisfaction and much confusion. Angel's encounter with an dying old woman is the most touching I've read in a long time. I almost wished for an epilogue in which Angel finds the child and passes the memory so she is not forgotten. I enjoyed the book but the plotting is not Ms Holder's best.
