Summary: Like the game only better
Review: The author manages to keep the interest alive in this fourth book. The characters all acted together very well. I especially love how the author puts you in the tyrants thoughts. Very well done

Summary: Definitely one of the best books I've read this year
Review: Basically, I think this book was one of the better books I've read so far this year. It had a very clear and vivid description of settings and characters, and it can almost make you believe that you are actually there with the characters. S.D. Perry is a very talented writer, and even though it was a fantastic novel, no doubt, but I just thought it would be better if she threw a little romance in there. You've got the mystery, the horror, the action, and a little romance would even it all out. I know some of you will probably disagree with me, and some of you will agree, but that's not the point. Personally, I think that Claire and Leon make a pretty cute couple (They're both young and good-looking, and it's quite obvious that they like each other) ;-). If you're a die-hard RE or RE2 fan, like I am, you'll like the book as much as I did.

Summary: Really cool book!!
Review: This was a really good book and I certainly did enjoy it. It took me about half an hour to finish the book...because it was so good. S.D. Perry is a terrific writer and she IS a woman...so females rule!! It was very descriptive! Personally, I think Claire and Leon make a pretty cute couple. ;-)

Summary: An Excellent Novel By S.D Parry
Review: The Resident Evil novel series has been excellently written by Author S.D Perry. She has managed to alter the books so that they differ from the video games. Each story contains an excellent in depth plot and surprises around every corner. S.D Perry has made a great first step into the Video Game Novelization Genre.

Summary: Good
Review: This book is the best game-novel book ever. I have read countless books of them I think that S.D. Perry should deffinetly get a job at capcom and write story lines. The only bad thing is I can't get anymore copys!!!

Summary: A very nice book...
Review: Everyone is so anxious to read these resident evil books.. Of course.. I read these books in class I was suspended and there was nutting better to do than read resident evil! I love these kinds of books horror, adventure, puzzels and more! S.D.Perry really knows how to make those kinds of books just right! And I truly hope the NEW!! resident evil game comes out perfectly like the rest... It's suppose to be 24 hours BEFORE!! the second resident evil game... Its really suppose to take place of Caliban Cove. I also truly hope Capcom japan makes more Resident Evil's that takes not just a day like a whole week! Kids are beating games in just 1-3 days now.. Like myself I beat Silent Hill in just 3 days cause it was just so FREAKING PHAT!!!

Summary: 'She pushed the thought aside'.......I pushed the book aside
Review: I started reading this serious my sophomore year, when the original movie came out. I dabbled in the games, not enough to spot so-called chronological discrepancies, but enough to know that S.D. Perry captured the violence of the games, but not the atmosphere.

The series has been up and down. Reading the books back to back, it's easy to notice when Perry is simply repeating herself. UNDERWORLD was the book that I finally stopped reading, putting it aside for three years until I had the steam to finish the series.

UNDERWORLD is easily the worst so far. The first hundred pages are turgidly-paced, which I don't mind if the material is compelling. This is not; we get more cheesy character development and interactions. Check out the scenes between girl-scout Claire and boy-scout Leon Kennedy for some groans. The characters follow inane trains of thought, usually ending with 'He pushed the thought aside,' the same damn thing I've read in the past three books.

When the characters finally end up in creature-related situations, the book picks up and Perry showcases her forte: gore. Though devoid of suspense, her animal creations and thier messy dispatchings make for some isolated pockets of fun. Perry uses the word "glurts" to describe spitting gore, easily the most genius gross out word ever put to use.

Our human villain here is a total waste. He's a snivelling underline desparately trying for promotion, but he comes across a total whiner and pushover. Nowhere near the dynamic of Nicolai in NEMESIS.

The body count is again disappointingly low. After reading this series, I've come to never feel any danger for these characters. However dangerous these creatures may be, they are always defeated by our hapless heros. At least a few of them need to die, if not to lend danger to the monsters, but to get rid of some of these characters who are exactly the same as one another. The difference between Claire and Rebecca, for instance, is negligable, now that they are both combat worthy.

UNDERWORLD is a throwaway entry into this bumpy series. The plot is of little consequence, and I found myself wondering when we were going to get back to Barry, Jill, Chris, and the lot.

I gave this book an extra star for being the only one of the six that does NOT end in a fiery explosion.

Summary: Resident evil dino crisis, sort of.
Review: The former members of STARS (Special Tactics And Rescue Squad) barely escape yet another attack from Umbrella's henchmen and are eager to join their partners in Europe, but the mysterious Trent has different plans. It seems that Umbrella has a brand spanking new facility opening up in Utah and Trent wants it closed down, permanently. The rendevous in Europe is postponed and it's off to Utah the team goes. The fourth Resident Evil novel (and the second original story, not an adaptation of a pre-existing storyline) is a fun, monster heavy ride. The only thing missing are the zombies, but series fans should still enjoy it. I did. Recommended.
