Summary: The BEST Vamp Book You'll Ever Read!
Review: Companions of the Night is the best vampire book I've ever read. The 2 main characters Kerry and Ethan are so well defined that you can picture yourself in either of their places as your read. The book starts out kind of slow, but just as you start to loose intrest some major action occurs and after that your hooked. Companions of the Night is full of suspense and keeps you guessing who is trustworthy and who is evil.

Summary: Wonderful book; best young adult vampire novel out there
Review: I loved this book. It is a fast paced, humorous and incredibly sexy story about an average girl caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and one incredibly awesome vampire.

Kerry Nowicki is a sixteen year old girl who, for her little brother's sake, drives out to the laundromat at midnight to get his teddy bear. From there she walks in on a group of vampire slayers and Ethan, their "bruised and bloodied vampire." Kerry does not believe in vampires, so she helps Ethan escape. He drives her home and she believes that they will never meet again.

Unfortunately, by helping Ethan Kerry has gotten her name on the hit list of the resident vampire slayers. Running into Ethan on accident, she is once again sucked into the world of a vampire on the run. Ethan is an incredibly sexy character, with notable talents (lock-picking and car theft) and many different facades he can put on for different occasions.

I won't spoil the ending, because it would be sinful to give away the end of this incredibly awesome book. It has climax, believability, and a tension that makes your hands sweat on the pages. The only thing this book needs is a sequel.

Please e-mail me with comments, flames, etc.

Summary: Vampires!!
Review: This book is good, but the author is in no rush to get the plot rapped up! Sometimes the author can be confusing though! But other then that its an awsome book! With a sad and twisted ending!!!

Summary: A shocking novel
Review: Companions of the Night has the ability to strike fear in the reader's heart, but then it changes and draws tears from the eyes. This book must be read and felt with the heart, for the message to be truly understood. Looking beyond vampires and hunters, we see our everyday life. Filled with betrayal, love, and loss. I am sure every reader brings something special away from this novel, and it will effect their lives every minute of the day. I hope that more people will discover this book and find their own message in life.

Summary: THE Best Book I've Ever Read
Review: I have read over 700 books in the past three years by all different authors (Lois Duncan, Anne Rice, Caroline B. Cooney, Katherine Applegate, R.L. Stine, Ect.) but this book is by far the best book I have ever read. I've read this book over 30 times in the past year and I'm reading it again. Right from the start you fall in love with the book and can't put it down. If you're looking for a book to read that will hold your interest until you find yourself thinking about you would do in that situation than you should read this book. Another good book to read is The Conjurer Princess, also by VVV. Ms. Vande Velde if you ever read this PLEASE give us a sequel!!!

Summary: A pleasant surprise
Review: I admit I have an often snooty habit of panning YA fiction. That is because there are so few YA novelists who develop characters well. However, I picked up this novel expecting the usual slop- and was proved wrong by Ms. Van Velde's intriquing writing. As a fan of the bad boys, I was quite drawn to and amused by the character of Ethan (though sometimes his motives are subject to skepticism) and felt that Kerry was quite relatable. One hope- for a sequel to tie up the loose ends and flesh out the tension!

Summary: A good young-adult love story
Review: I read this book several years ago and still have it on my bookshelf. It's a nice short young adult story about a vampire and a teenage girl. This girl gets mixed up in a bad situation and is forced to live it out due to circumstances. She is at the laundry-mat the first time she meets Ethan, the vampire. He is being hunted down by a gang (of whom he previously killed a member of), and she inadvertantly helps him get away. Her family is now taken hostage by this gang, and you get the gist of what is going on. It's well written, very interesting, nice and complete. I think the ending is what everyone who likes this genre expects, but for this story, it was fitting. There wasn't a dull moment, though sometimes I think it's a little too carried away. I enjoyed it though, and would recommend it to anyone interested in light, vampire-related love stories.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ!!!
Review: The minute I opened the book I couldn't put it down. I've read it about three times and each time it seems even better and more exciting. I have only one demand: Ms. Vande Velde, please don't leave us without an end; write a sequel!
