Summary: One of the BEST I have ever read.
Review: The setting of this book and the way that it fit into a real life situation really helped this book along. I loved that the story stayed down to earth. It's a classic. I can't wait to read it again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A truely wonderful book

Summary: One of my favorite books. Can't wait to read it again!!!!
Review: I read this book for the first about 2 years ago and I just finished reading it again for the third time. I loved it the first time and it was just as good the third. I think every time I've read it I read the whole thing in less than 2 days. This book was so realistic that it got me wondering what I would do if I were Kerry. It was fast paced but not confusing like some books are. It was perfect and if I could give it 6 stars I would. I only hope a sequel comes out.

Summary: Sequels
Review: I wanted to thank all of you who have written in to say that you like COMPANIONS OF THE NIGHT. It was a fun book to write, and I'm delighted that you enjoyed it so much you want a sequel.

I do have to say that I'm not likely to write one. For one thing, it would hardly seem fair--after all this while, when people have already read the book and made their own speculations about what happens next. That's one of the things that made me want to be an author: reading books or seeing movies where I didn't like something that happened. I'd mentally make up my own endings. Often this would involve wildly improbable, romantic, happily-ever-after solutions that--if anybody else had written it--would have made me choke for being too unbelievable, too sentimental. But because the ending was only in my head rather than on a page, that made it all right. So to all of you: Feel free to mentally put my characters wherever you want them.

Another reason I don't do sequels is that--much as I enjoy my characters--once I finish a story I want to move on to other people in totally different situations. The only time I've ever written a sequel (which actually ended up being a prequel (don't you hate that word?)) was for the story that ended up being called CONJURER PRINCESS. I had written CONJURER PRINCESS, but it took almost 10 years before it was finally accepted for publication; so when the editor asked for a sequel, I figured I was ready to go back to one of the characters in the book to write about his background.

So, I'm not saying I'll *never* write a sequel to COMPANIONS, but--as Ethan might say: Don't hold your breath: vampires never do.

Summary: Fast Moving. I dare you to put this down.
Review: I have loved vampire stories since I was a kid watching Dark Shadows. This however, has got to be the best (short story or novel) that I have ever read on the subject. It is fast-moving, and never lags. The sexual tension between the 16-year old girl and the hunky vampire, Ethan, is not overplayed, and is just right. Further, the vampire is neither all good (much too mushy) nor all bad (in other words, quite human). I had a hard time putting this one down and could have read it in a few hours had I the time. My hat's off to Vande Velde. She wrote a true page turner chock full of teen angst, vampires, mystery, love (and sure, lust is there too), and the human belief that nothing and nobody is all bad.

Summary: Incredible Books For Teens and Young Adults
Review: I was blown away by this book. It's completely interesting, with not one boring moment. The writing is amazing, and understandable! Get this book, if you're interested in an ingenious story, with plot twists and a lot of humor!

Summary: WAY TO GO VIVIAN! WE LOVE YOU!
Review: This is the second book I read by the wonderous Vivian Vande Velde. May I just say that Dragon's Bait pales in comparison. This book deserves to be made into a movie. Not only that, it deserves a sequel. Come on, Vivian, don't leave us hanging!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: *Breathless*
Review: This book left me brethless (literally) for almost a week. All I could think about. I've never been so emotional about a book before!!!!I say we drag Vivian Vande Velde down here to this site and demand a sequal, whattda ya say? :) I can definately see it on the big screen, can't you? I NEVER read books more than once in a period of less than a year, but this is one of those you flip right back to the beginning again, like you want it to never end. But really guys, somebody find her address and ask about a sequal. Maybe if she came back and saw all of the 5-star ratings she'd think it over...think about it...people who love the book sooo much enough to write a follow up of it??

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Passionate vampire thriller
Review: This was my first of Vande Velde's and I believe the best written. It definitely needs a sequal. An edge of your seat vampire thriller with just enough romance to spice it up just the way you like it. WOW!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best Vampire Book On The Market
Review: This book is simply fantastic. I agree with others who say that this book should be made into a movie and/or have a sequel. I am an avid reader and I always want to read another book, I don't like reading books over and over again. Its VERY rare that I read a book a second time, but this book makes you want to read it again and again. You don't want to put it down. I recomend this to anyone who likes romantic stories and/or vampires! The covering of the book looks very dull, but the story is truly fascinating!
