Summary: good book
Review: I really liked "Demon in My View," and I have also read Amelia's first book, "In the Forests of the Night." Some ppl liked the first book better, but I liked the second one; it shows that she has improved dramatically on her writing, and I can't wait until her third one comes out, though I don't really read about vampires all that much! lol.

Summary: GREAT FOLLOW UP!!!
Review: Let me put this simply. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ! It tells the story of Jessica a young novelist who's world gets turned upsidedown when she discovers the truth about her fictional characters. Like I said before I love this book though Amelia's writing does contain some strong traces of Laurell K. Hamilton and Anne Rice its still very original so personally I think we need a sequel.

Summary: A Geart book!
Review: This book is better then the first one I really got into this book and I really enjoyed it and its a really great book.

Summary: Jeez! People whine to much.
Review: I really liked this book it is one of my favorites. I like the story. I still think the first one is better, but I liked the whole idea, I thought it was pretty original since I havn't really read anything like it before. Aubrey is a good antagonist while Jessica needs a bit more feeling. Other then that she's a good protagonist. I'm sorry for the people who didn't really like it. But everyone has their own opinion and that is fine.

Summary: DISTURBING, DISTURBED FANTASY/BAD, TAINTED BLOOD
Review: I didn't like this book. It's as simple as that.

First of all, there were no likable or sympathetic characters. Gothic, vampiric Jessica was a stereotypical disaffected teen who expresses that through Gothic/vampire get up.

The story was kind of stupid. First of all, Jessica is a seemingly unknown author who writes under the nom de plume, "Ash Night." Her novels spring to life in the characters of classmate Aubrey/Alex, who is pure evil and his group of vampiric monsters.

Caryn and her mother are white witches on a mission to warn Jessica of Alex' evil, he really is the Aubrey of her novel, "Tiger, Tiger," a vampire's tale.

The story just plain makes no sense. There are too many coincidences, too clearly drawn stereotypes to make it feel convincing. If this was a western, Jessica and the vampire bunch, especially that revolting Fala would be wearing black hats and Caryn and her mother would be the ones with white hats. Other kids shy away from Jessica; the girl radiates pure evil like her seemingly "novel" characters. Jessica even has an all black bedroom and dresses in black.

Although it is quite impressive that a teen wrote and published this book, it is rather unsettling that she harbors such dark fantasies. Many people would find such a thing alarming and wonder if penning such stories was a cry for help.

I personally disliked this book, but the author is to be commended for breaking into the business at such a tender age.

Summary: Not the best book ever
Review: Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is a talented writer but she is still pretty young and her stories reflect that. "In the Forests of the Night" was an enjoyable, if rather un-original vampire story.

However Demon in My View is more obnoxious because the whole Mary-Sue like similarites between Amelia and the protagonist Jessica-basically she seems to have written this book so that she could fall in love with Aubrey and become a vampire herself. Amelia's talent for writing keeps the book afloat but it still not that great. Hopefully she will improve her plots as she gets older.

Summary: REMARKABLE WRITING!!!!!
Review: I usually read books like Harry Potter and The Wizard of Earthsea, so when my friend handed me this book with a "must read" look on her face, I was skeptical. But I'm very greatful that a gave it a look. Atwater-Rhodes writes beautifully with good vocabulary and feeling. The plot was thrilling with lots of action in every chapter. This is my first "undeworld" book, but from other "underworld" readers this is said to measure up very well. The best thing in this book are the characters, who are masterfully described in every detail, but not all at once to overwhelm the reader. The person, or shall I say vampire, that caught my eye the most was Aubrey, a powerful vampire who shadows the rest of the characters, although he is not the protagoninst. Aubrey is a powerful, suductive, teasing, and very cool vampire who you have no hope but to surrendur to. The scene where Aubrey and Caryn join forces was the weak point of the book, but otherwise this is a wonderful novel, and a good quick read. I suggest it to anyone and everyone and cannot possibly see how you cannot love this book!

Summary: New author amazing!
Review: I'm .. years old & it's near to impossible for me to find abook i like. When i saw "demon in my view" featured in seventeen i decided to check it out. My local library only had the first book by amelia atwater-rhodes. so i read that & immediatly fell in love with the characters. Then when 'demon' came out i immediately bought it. I loved it so much i read it in one sitting. Ever since i've read the book 4 times over. Atwater-Rhodes is a great young author & has a promising career in the future. I can't wait for her next book!!!

Summary: A fantastic follow-up
Review: Demon In My View, by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is a fantastic follow-up to her debut novel, In The Forests Of The Night. I am truly amazed at the talent that this almost 17 year old girl has as a writer. The imagery in both novels is just breathtaking; she describes every detail so vividly that I swear I know her characters personally. My favourite character would have to be Aubrey. I am truly in love with this character. He's mysterious and dangerous, yet oh so seductive and sexy. I was thrilled when it turned out that he was in this second novel as well, and now cannot wait for the third book to be published. This imaginary world that Atwater-Rhodes has created is extremely intriguing, and I can't wait to see what's in store in her next novel.
