Summary: yeech
Review: I normaly like v c andrews but the way ruby behaved in this book made me wanna not read it and throw it away. you would think she'd be a little more compassionate after what paul has done for her but she just left him at the first chance she got to be with her precios beau. she took advantage of the fact that gissele was sick and ran off with beau. she spat on paul's love even if it was not the right kind of love and that's why he died

Summary: A Little Too Predictable
Review: When I had read the "Flowers In The Attic" series I was blown away. I couldn't wait to read the "Dawn" series. After getting thru the first book, I realized that it was similar to the first series, but good nonetheless. Being a VC Andrews fan, I started reading "Ruby." Although hauntingly familir, I enjoyed it as well. But - "All That Glitters" was a total disaster. I could see why Ruby would live with Paul, as I'm sure there were deep emotions that went back to when they were young, and his undying love and support (not to mention wealth!) would be flattering, but PLEASE... AS IF anyone could be so obsessed with another person that they would sacrifice as Paul did. That was pathetic... Ruby stealing her comatose sister's identity to be with Beau, a total putz who married that witch Gisselle becuase she looked like Ruby. All of these books are so consumed with physical beauty it's disgusting! I don't care how much Gisselle looked like Ruby - how could one live with that witch?? Surely that novel could've taken another turn rather than the one it did. Sure, keep Gisselle dying in the plot - she deserved it - but something could've been written around Ruby telling Paul (and his family) the truth. That, coupled with the fact that it's back to the half brother/sister love affair, was just too much to handle, and made for a boring book. And you know there's going to be the "wealthy, happy ending" SOMEWHERE in the series, so you pretty much know the outcome! I'd like to read her latest series, as I am a fan, but I think this time instead of purchasing it (to read again and again!) I'm going to go to the library and get it first, because lately once has been enough.

Summary: All The Same All The Time
Review: I have to agree with ariley, ricepad and brownsa. I really enjoyed the first couple maybe even three family series but it quickly became obvious that V.C. Andrews only knew how to blow "one note". Makes you wonder if she was living out some sick fantasy or trying to exercise some private demons of her own. Then the publishers went to great pains to find writers to fill the void when Ms. Andrews died. I would like to see these "ghost writers" give the fans something more true to life. Most of us are women, some of us have had hard lives or gotten some bad breaks but we endure and are strong and can lead happy lives, with or without men.
I know my review wasnt very complementary and I will continue reading V.C. Andrews books but I wont pay full price for them.

Summary: Depressing
Review: This book is by far the best in the Landry series. I couldn't put it down. The one thing that bothered me though was that I was feeling depressed through the whole thing. Even people doomed to hell have good days once in a while. One bad thing after another kept Ruby down. First Beau diserting her, then Paul pressuring her to live with him and have sex with him, then Gisella and Buea coming back, and Gisella getting sick. IT seems all is happy aftet that, but you just know somethings going to ruin it. The only complaint I have of the whole series is the depressing atmospher and Ruby's lack of backbone. Other wise, this book and this series are the best I've ever read.

Review: This book is absolutely amazing! I would definitely reccomend it to anyone who loves romance novels, or just loves V.C. Andrews novels!! The book is also very exciting and witty. V.C. is truly a gifted writer. I gurantee you'll love it as much as I did!!

Summary: This book could have been better
Review: So many V C Andrews books just blow you away. This one just kind of sat there. It was very predictable and obvious. Who would have sex with a man they KNEW was their brother? YUK!!! I don't think the ghost writer is nearly as good as the original author.

Summary: All that glitters ain't Gold!!!
Review: All that Glitters was so boring and predictable. The story is so weak. Who didn't see that Ruby was going to change identities with her twin sister? Such a lame, unimaginative, boring, predictable book. I didn't even like the characters. I was not at all sympathetic toward Paul. And why does the incest theme run throughout this book? I'm giving it a 4, because it was better than the Cutler series!

Summary: A Wonderful Tribute to Literature
Review: All That Glitters was a wonderful book. It was the last book about Ruby Dumas, an artist who recently discovered a whole new family. The relationship with her half brother Paul brought tears to my eyes. Her daughter Pearl was so sweet and alert. Beau is the best man that any girl can have. He was a wonderful husband to Ruby. VC Andrews creates a whole new world for readers. It took me to a place that I have never been before. This book was fantastic!

Summary: The most exciting book in this series
Review: All That Glitters had to be the most exciting book in this series. Ruby and Paul had their incest thang goin' on like there wasn't nothin' wrong. I couldn't believe that they had sex! Twice!-although they knew the whole time that they were sister and brother. It gets even more exciting when Gisselle and Beau show up in the picture. I couldn't help but feel bad for Paul though because Ruby was in love with Beau and he was so heartbroken. I also felt sorta bad for Gisselle when she got sick and died, and even worse when Paul drowned in the swamps. The best part of the whole book was the court scene when Ruby was trying to get custody of her daugher Pearl and all of the big secrets come out, especially the one about Mr. Tate raping her mother in the swamps a long time ago. I heard that there's supposed to be a movie out on the Ruby series, and I can't wait!!!

Summary: Same as all the other books, but with different characters
Review: I was extremely disappointed with this book. I have read every VC Andrews book and they all seem to blend together. In every book, there is a girl who has a really hard life, gets raped or abused by someone extremely close to her (ie father, uncle, etc.), finds out that the people she believed was her family is NOT, finds out she is actually very rich, and has some sort of incestuous realtionship with her brother because it was too late when her real identity was discovered. The sad part is that this occurs in every book in one form or another. The daughter always repeats her mother's mistakes. I think it's time to think of a new plot or stop writing these books all together. I do not find these enjoyable anymore because I know what exactly is going to happen.
