Summary: Amazingly well written, gruesome and heart-stopping!
Review: I couldn't ask for a better survival/horror/thriller! I found myself completely enveloped in the book from beginning to end. And the heroine, Claire Redfield, is amiable, well-developed, believable and interesting to those of the opposite sex ;)

For those who follow the Resident Evil series, whether in video games or by books, you will remember Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2 or "City of the Dead."

The young, 19 year old, has gotten herself in even deeper than her first adventure in Raccoon City ("City of the Dead") after she travels half way across the world to Paris in search of her brother, Chris Redfield, a missing S.T.A.R.S police member whose last known whereabouts were in France. Claire finds herself at a dead end once she reaches Paris, only to find Chris is not there. Instead, after infiltrating a head intelligence agency, Claire finds a gun to her head and herself in a VERY bad situation. The girl is roughly apprehended and taken to an extremely secluded military base located in the middle of the ocean, Rockfort. A mysterious facility in which secret experiments have been conducted to create dangerous creatures to be used in war, is filled with gruesome images of death and horror that make the gut cringe. The things Claire sees would scar just about anyone for life, but will have the reader constantly turning the page.

Our heroine, Claire, is thrown deep into the middle, when, just with her arrival to Rockfort, a special forces team, attacks the island, destroying many of the buildings and causing a toxic spill, which infects the island inhabitants, turning them into the blood-craving undead.

But the undead are the least of the girl's problems as the master of Rockfort, Alfred Ashford, a descendant of the rich-blooded Ashford family, believes Claire is a threat to his family and to his beloved sister, Alexia. He unleashes a hord of terror-envoking creatures to dispose of Claire in hopes to allow him time to unfold his master plan involving his mysterious and never-seen sister Alexia.

The book experiments with views of all the characters. You dive deep into the mind of the often humurous and constantly calculating Claire Redfield, experience the pains of a fellow prisoner and friend Steve Burnside, and cringe with the thoughts of the sadistic Alfred Ashford. Amazing fast paced action and red-herrings were around EVERY corner of this book that I found myself struggle to close it. Your mind is constantly working to solve the puzzles and cope with the struggles of all the characters. And for those who have been primarily connected to the video games, the books dive deeper into the characters themselves as you find out much more about Chris, Claire, Leon, Steve and maybe a little too much about the derranged brother and sister, Alred and Alexia Ashford. This is truly one of the best science fiction novels I have read and I was truly sad when I had finished it, but I will not give away the new experimental creatures or the ending so you can enjoy it for yourself. Perhaps a possible sequel is still in store for Chris and Claire? Oh I hope so! :D

Summary: Meh...
Review: I love Code Veronica. The game, that is. But this book didn't portray it well at all. Code Veronica was my favorite game ever. This book rushes through the best parts, and Wesker is mentioned about three times as some perverted lunatic. And in the book overall, he is mentioned three times. The book [was awful], the game was good.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Just Like the Game in more Detail
Review: I loved it it was just like the game (i also beat) it also helped me when i played the game again thank you S.D. Perry, it's alot like the other books, just how i like them.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: It doesnt do the game justice.
Review: I loved the Resident Evil games. I bought a DreamCast just to play Code Veronica. And when I found out that a series of books was going to be deticated to these games, I jumped on it, buying them as soon as they hit shelves. All of them are instant classics, yet, Code Veronica doesnt seem to do a good job portraying the game as the first and third books have done. Important scenes are rushed trough, heck, Chris's arival on the island to look for Claire only last's about 8 pages, then he's on antartica. That part was the hardest, and exciting point in the game. Having to revisit the shattered complex, fending off againt hunters and zombies. And this book is ssoo short. I read it in two nights, and felt disapointed.

Summary: Resident Evil Code Veronica
Review: I thought that the book was very well thought out; however, it lacked some things. For example: it was published after the release of Code Veronica X, but it did not have the final fight between Wesker and Chris that it it's main flaw if it had had that fight I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Summary: Rushed
Review: I thought this book was good but for some reason it just felt a little rushed. I think that she should've spent a little more time in detail about how Chris got to Antartica also. But the way she writes from the evil persons point of view is also superb. She knows exactly how they think and act. But, instead of just reading these reviews, buy it!!!

Summary: Great Reading!
Review: I was playing RE:CV and really getting into the story (it's the first resident evil game i've played). Anyways, imagine my amazement when i found out on the internet that there are Novels based on RE. I had to go buy it right away and i'm glad i did because the book is amazing!

SD Perry writes so wonderfully. At first i had my doubts about a novel based on a videogame, but she dashes them all away with her supurb writting style. She writes descriptively and with detail but not so much as to drone on and on. She keeps the book from beginning to end at a perfect pace. You won't find yourself bored with this book. And the story fits well with the game. She even describes the layout of the places that you visit in the game perfectly.

And i find myself loving the characters more after reading this book, esp. the character of Steve Burnside. He may seem annoying in the game (mainly due to his voice actor), but he's tootally kick ass in the book. And SD Perry totally elaborates on the little romance hints bet. Steve and Claire in the game. This is a total plus for me because i'm a huge fan of Steve and Claire. And there is more character development on the part of Albert Wesker as well. You get more insight into his intimate and disturbing relationship with his sister, Alexia.

All in all, i tootally recommend this novel to anyone whose a fan of the game. The book and the game really do go well together, and you'll get more inside depth of the story after reading this.

Summary: My Review
Review: I've read all of the books in the resident evil series by S.D. Perry and own a lot of the resident evil games. But this book definitely stands out. It gives the reader an awesome perspective of all the character's emotions. Like Alfred Ashford who is in the book like obsessed with his Twin sister Alexia and Perry gives an excellent description of how little by little Alfred starts to snap over his sister. I guess it'd be pretty hard not to snap when you grow up watching your family perfrom horrible test on other humans to find the ultimate bio weapon. She also gives detail to the fact that Alfred is also a sick human being and how when a guard did something wrong when he was little or Alfred and his sister just didn't like the guy. they would numb him with drugs and stick needles in his sides.... All in all i really enjoyed this book and thought Perry did an excellent job!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not very scary.
Review: It seems that every other book in the Resident Evil book series is not very good. And this is one of them. I could understand the other ones not being to great because they are not based on the games, but this one is. I was a little shocked that I wasnt shaking in my bed. Read it just to keep you posted as to what is going on in the series, but not to be scared.
