Rating: Summary: visually gripping Review: Although I thought that necroscope 1 couldn't be equalled; the source dominates where wamphyri came up short. The descriptions of the warriors and the aeries, as well as the alternate world, were nothing but terrifying curiosities. With a touch of quantum physics and sheer horror; Mr. Lumley combines interesting scientific theories with monsters that seem to stay with you even after the book is put down. I really liked the way he added a more human and personal feel to the wamphyri hosts. The flirtatious Jazz and his interest in Zek is also a great addition to the story and keeps it moving even during the otherwise transitional and seemingly slow-moving stages in the book. I was actually taken by suprise with this book because I thought that for sure necroscope should have stayed a one book creation. I thought my theory was correct with my dissapointment in part 2. But Mr. Lumley did what all great saga writers do: instead of taking a story that seems to have used up its creative limitations and carrying it on like a soap opera(R. Jordan, unfortunately);he built on it and formed a whole new landscape of ideas to read about. Especially when it comes to Harry sr. metamorphisies throughout each book. He has been through so much and has taken a couple of forms through his journies that he has an almost detatched and alienated relationship with his former love and with most of the living for that matter. I could feel his loneliness when he saw Brenda for the first time in eight years and he couldn't even bear to look at her. Harry will always be moving on and changing in the eyes of the living, but he will always be static, ubiquitous, respected and loved in the eyes of the dead!

Rating: Summary: The Source for great horror...Brian Lumley Review: As I sat down to start reading the third book of Brian Lumley's Necroscope series, I admit I was a bit skeptical of it. The first book, Necroscope, was nearly perfect and very enjoyable. In my experience with outstanding first books in a series, it is rare the books that follow ever meet their potential. Brian Lumley has provided a challenger which definitely lives up to its potential. The novel seemlessly sews two(and potentially more) books together and clears up many of the questions left from the previous two books. This book is not just a rehash of his previous books, but still touches the back to past events. Also, for readers of Lumley who have waited awhile to pick up this edition, they should not let that stop them. Lumley includes enough details about the past books to refresh your memory. It had been almost a year since I read Necroscope II and this books rushed those great memories right back in full force. Definitely get this book and read it, it will bring that passion for the (un)dead back like nothing else.
Rating: Summary: A true classic Review: Brian Lumley has created the ultimate in horror. He combined the horror of the ultimate predator and prey. The Wamphyri are the ultimate in vampires, yet redefining the term "vampire" Harry is the ultimate in humanity and power. Through his weird Necroscope powers, he propels the reader into the horror of the counter-earth breeding place of vampires and the ultimate showdown of good vs. evil

Rating: Summary: Left a little to be desired... Review: I am a huge fan of the first two books in the series, and I was really expecting the same kind of intensity that books one and two had. Most of the story takes place on another planet in another dimension, and I didn't like it as much as the previous two books where everything occured in our world. My final recommendation: Read it only after the first two books in the series. The fourth book is definitely worth the effort.
Rating: Summary: Most well conceived novel ever written. Review: I have a math degree and like the following kinds of books: horror, spy, adventure, fantasy, science fiction and classics. Add a little macabre and I could not be happier. Go Lumley!!!
Rating: Summary: A vacuum of horror adventure Review: I read this book and soon following, I devoured the rest of the series eagerly awaiting the next sequel to this highly evolved nightmare tale.
Though it has been almost 2 years since I read the conclusion of the Necroscope's tale, I still find myself thinking about that strange, evil, yet horribly compelling world which Brian Lumely constructed.
After reading this the entire series I was sad to see it end, but knew it must. My conception of the Vampire was so radically altered by this tale that I have not been satisfied by any other versions of this mystic creature. None have given it the power, or the malignant beauty that Lumly has crafted.
I am awed and terrified by the Necroscope series

Rating: Summary: It's A Tie... Review: If I had to pick one book out of the 1st 5 Necroscope books, it would be between this one or Deadspawn, because they both have parts in the Vampire world, which is a fascinating place.
