Summary: good read - unique twists
Review: this was my first book by this author - story was really good, very interesting and easy to read. Lots of unexpected twists and turns - would have been better with more scares! Only downside to this book was the HUGE number of typos and grammatical errors - WHO IS THIS WOMAN'S EDITOR? she needs to get a new one, that is for sure. I think it was published by Pinnacle; they should be ashamed. I want to get Moonfall next, hope it is as good, with less mistakes.

Summary: Hoping for a series
Review: A great book! Half way through I agonized that I couldn't wait to finish it, yet hated to see it end. The main characters are perfect for a series...can't wait to read more by Tamara Thorne.

Summary: One of the scariest, and most fun horror novels!
Review: This book was super fun and entertaining to read. The use of the dolls, the setting of the house....the likeable characters, and the great humor in the story all combine to make a FABULOUS reading experience! I loved this book and I know I'll have fun rereading it again. If you liked Ghost Story, The Shining, or Matheson's Hell House you'll love this one.

Summary: A First Rate Haunted House Novel
Review: If you love haunted house novels, you can't go wrong here. I was captured from start to finish. It's got all the hallmarks of a classic ghost story - the skeptical researcher, the sordid history of the house, the slowly building occurances of ghostly activity, the climatic ending, etc.

It's stunning just how graphic this book gets without actually going over the edge - a real achievement nowadays. make no mistake though, there are things that happen in this story that are pretty disgusting.

The dialog, plot, and character development are excellent. Like Richard Matheson's "Hell House" (which no self-respecting fan of Haunted House stories should be without!), this one will stay with you until you have to read it again....

Summary: haunted
Review: A boring and uninteresting book I managed to plow through to page 105 then just could not take any more. Possibly without the teenage daughter it might have had a chance. If there was a zero on rating it would have got my vote.

Summary: What A Scare! Really Really Great Book
Review: I am an avid Stephen King reader and fan. I don't think I have ever read a book such as "Haunted". I actually wanted to keep the lights on for this one. It is truly the best "scary" book I have ever read. Great Job Tamara. I look forward to reading your next one as soon as it hits the shelves. Thanks for a Great Read!

Summary: There's nothing like a haunted house...
Review: Haunted is the result of my life-long love of haunted houses. Nothing else has ever captivated me like the idea of being in your home and realizing there's something in there with you. Something that tickles the back of your neck or makes phantom footsteps in the hall outside your bedroom door.

My early interest was fed by Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House and Richard Matheson's Hell House. I greatly admired both books and Haunted is something of a tribute (in a squewed sort of way) to those novels.

But how can a writer ever hope to inspire the fear Hill House did? The breathing doors. Holding hands with your roommate in the dark and then finding out it wasn't her hand you held. That's a lot to live up to, but I still wanted to try it. I decided that the only way to do it would be to have fun with it.

Although Haunted is serious, it also has its tongue firmly planted in its cheek. I purposely added every haunted house cliche that I could think of, like evil dolls and sexually voracious spirits, headless ghosts and a museum of a haunted house.

And I had fun. Boy, did I have fun. In fact, I've never enjoyed writing a book so much. I got to explore the paranormal from a skeptic's viewpoint like mine (David, the hero, pretty much speaks for me), and I got to rip out reality and go for a spin with every last beloved bit of haunted house lore.

I describe Haunted as "gleeful horror" meant to scare and amuse. I hope you enjoy reading Haunted as much as I did writing it.

Summary: Haunted by Tamara Thorne
Review: Haunted should be read with alot of lights on. A book doesn't usually scare me, the last one that did was THE SHINING, but Haunted goes to the limet with ghost activities! This book played in my mind like a movie, but better. The characters were well fleshed (even the ghosts), and the plot had enough twists to keep the pages turning. Frightening, Provocotive, Excellent reading.

Summary: An excellent read!
Review: Being a very picky reader, I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed this book. It's not the typical "horror" read and contained alot of new ideas. Several times I found myself actually seeing scenes play out vividly in my mind, which to me - separates the Good books from the really excellent ones! Bravo, Tamara Thorne! Write MORE! :-)

Summary: One of the best I have read
Review: I picked up the book in a grocery store and bought it on a whim. I had never heard of her and it seems she only has two books out (Haunted and Moonfall). The book is wonderful, the characters vivid and the story chilling. I stayed up so long reading it! Haven't done that in a while! I did some research and it seems she has another pen name, Chris Curry, under which, if I am correct, she has written a few books (often with a partner, Lisa Dean), I am sure they are worth a read! I certainly hope she shows us more of her talent!
