Rating: Summary: What's not to like? Review: An early effort (1979) by Dean Koontz, updated and more contemporary. It is in the suspense/thriller/cat and mouse category, rather than the more supernatural, atmospheric novels he is known for.It reads well, the pages fly by, the pace is always building and the flow logical. It is a book with strong momentum. You won't get bored. Strong characters, good action and a satisfying resolution. It gives one a glimpse at DK at an early stage, and is worth reading for that alone. More importantly, it works. I feel he does this genre quite well and wish he would give us a couple more like this and "Dark Rivers of the Heart." "The Watchers" is still my favorite DK.
Rating: Summary: moving and a very true acount of amnesia Review: As a person who suffered from amnesia for many years I wasable to relate to this story and it helped me find clues to overcome the amnesia in my life and learn to deal with the consequences of memory return.
Rating: Summary: BEST BOOK EVER Review: Honestly, this is the best book i've ever read. It was my first Dean Koontz novel and I LOVED it. It was brilliant the way he twined his characters together in the suspenseful plot and I will definitely read more of his novels from my liking of this one. This book has inspired me to read again. Honestly, read it! it's Soooooooo good!
Rating: Summary: DIFFERENT...BUT STILL COOL BEANS! Review: I didn't think I was going to like this book at first (which is exactly what I thought about my favorite book so that says something right there, hint hint: my fave book is 'Dark Rivers of the Heart;' if you haven't read it ya desperately need to) but this one was pretty cool! All the psychological stuff was neat but the dreams were kind of freaky! You can tell Koontz has considerably deep pockets (duh!) 'cause the way everyone always orders the quote/unquote 'proper' this and 'proper' that. But anyways, I LOVE this book and it was event the inspiration for one of the books I'm currently writing.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, but too long to point Review: I don't enjoy to read, but I enjoyed this book. It kept me in suspense from front to back. Joanna seemed a little weak, but maybe some people react diffrent to situations like the one in the book.
Rating: Summary: Superb! Review: I don't why people keep on saying they don't like this 'new style' I don't see anything different in this book...okay so it takes place in a different Country..they still talk english so who cares? Anyway getting back to how riviting this book was.....It had to be one of the best by Koontz ever...I have read about 12 of his other novels and this one is third in the top 5 (one and two being INTENSITY, and WATCHERS) by the end of the first page of this book you are already hooked. This epic novel is about a lady, Johana, she keeps on having the same dream alomost every night. Then a man neamed Alex comes and tells her JOhana is not her real name and that she is the senetor's daughter....you'll find out what happends when you read THE KEY TO MIDNIGHT. If you like this book you should read STRANGERS also.
Rating: Summary: I'm constantly amazed at the range of Dean Koontz talents. Review: I found the tenderness of the love story behind this book to be really touching. I have been reading Koontz for several years but still find it amazing how he can scare the crap out of me one moment and sweep me off my feet the next. He is definately one of the most gifted writers I've ever read. The characters out of The key to Midnight were truly believable.
Rating: Summary: A Koontz Classic Review: I have read many Dean Koontz books and he continues to amaze me. Though not his best, it is a real page turner you don't want to miss. It involves Alex Hunter, an American investigator who goes to Japan and meets Joanna Rand, an American woman running a Japenese nightclub. He notices she strongly resembles a Senator's daughter who was never found. They then go on an epic journey to discover who or what Joanna Rand actually is. A must read for any Koontz fan or someone who likes government conspiracies.
Rating: Summary: Key TO Midnight Review: I Would have never began reading if I had not read this book.
