Summary: Awesome!!!!
Review: This book is totally captivating! The first chapter, when Jonas gave the speech was hard to get through. But after that, I just couldn't put it down! I even took it with me on vacation. But I'm only twelve, and my mom kept telling me to go swim or something. But I absolutely could not put it down! The book is so realistic and descriptive, I almost couldn't sleep one night. but I would suggest this book to anyone who asked me!

Summary: A nice surprise!
Review: If you love sharks and/or dinosaurs, this is the book for you. What can be better than a 60 foot white luminescent shark wreaking havoc on anything that gets in it's way.
Jonas Taylor is the main character of the book as a scientist who 7 years earlier had killed 2 other men when he surfaced their submersible too quickly while panicking saying he saw a Meg in the dark depths of the ocean. Now, hired by Masao Tanako, who owns a large "water park" (for lack of a better word at the moment), to capture the Meg in the trench. Upon descending, a Meg indeed shows up and gets caught in the cables. As they try to escape and free this beast, another Meg, a pregnant female, shows up and kills the male and follows the warm blood trail to the ocean surface. Thus begins many great chases, near misse, and as much suspense as one can take in reading this book.
Many will think "Jaws" when they look at this, but Jaws is a baby compared to this.
This is a fast paced book that you won't be able to put down and with a surpise (well, maybe not surprise) ending.

Summary: Eric's review of Meg
Review: meg is a actually a pretty good book. This means quite a bit coming from me because i really do not like to read. This book is interesting and full of action. Eventhough I was sort of forced to read, i am glad i chose this book to read. If you like books with dinosaur like creatures and lots of action, i would recommend this book.

Summary: Great book if u love Sharks and the ocean.
Review: Meg has taught me a lot about sharks and exploring the ocean. I can't wait to read the sequel "the Trench" it sounds like it will be a great book too. I am one of Mr. Neill's students, who is the author of "Adventures in Spacetime" so check that book out, and we are learning about Sharks and Meg has taught us even more. i really like the part about the shark having the baby shark. It was a cool little story about that. Well i would recommend this book to anyone who likes sharks or anyone who wants to know more about sharks.

Summary: Holly Hellenschmidt
Review: Meg was a great book about mysteries of the deep, including sharks and other marine animals but mostly sharks. It was cool becuase it really got you into the book and ever since we read it i have always known a little more about sharks. I would recommend any reader to read this, but beware becuase a few people get hurt in the book but in the end it it cool.

Summary: Save a Tree, Ignore this Book!
Review: I don't need 1000 words, just 6: The worst book I've ever read! Bar none! Hands down! Period, dot, the end! And before you jump down my throat: I LOVE horror and suspense and mystery. This had none of it. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Unless maybe you've spent your life completely ignorant of any of those three concepts... Nope. Even if I'd NEVER read a horror book or seen a horror movie before, I'd still be bored to tears by this idiotic thing. Meg wouldn't scare a three-year-old. It is the worst writing I've read in years, the characters were one-dimensional (if not outright RACIST. I kept praying the hero would get gobbled up just so I could be done with the whole thing. ), and the ending was the lamest piece of junk I've ever read (it was like Alten was saying to himself "Well, it's gotta end somehow. How can I insult the reader's intelligence most deeply?" Yes, yes, I get the allusion to Jonah, or Gepetto, or whoever, and it was still stupid). If you WANT to waste a coupla bucks, pick it up. We can only hope, though, that the publishers who insist on giving this hack a 2nd and 3rd chance will take a hint and let it all drift quietly out of print. Mr. Alten: let someone else have their turn at wasting paper and ink, and stop wasting our time.

Summary: The new Peter Benchley
Review: This book was incredible. I literally could not put it down. A few scenes were a little unrealistic, but remember, this is fiction (I hope!). I love reading, and I have a list of certain authors I buy as soon as they publish anything new. I usually have to read several books for an author to make it to my "list", but I'm adding Steve Alten to my list after reading "Meg". Very few authors can totally engross me in a story as Mr. Alten did. John Grisham, Sidney Sheldon, Michael Crighton, and Eileen Goudge can make anything seem interesting, and I think Mr. Alten will fit nicely into this catagory. He seems to have the gift of luring you into his books. VERY highly recommended. The only reason I didn't rate this as a 5 star book was one totally unrealistic scene at the end, but I guess he had to wind things up somehow. This is actually about a 4.99% star rating in my book.

Summary: The most amazing novel!!!!
Review: There aren't any words I can think of to describe this novel! It is a very highly recommened reading though along with its sequal! Wonderful wonderful wonderful writing Mr. Alten!!

Keep Meg coming!!!

Summary: So much potential
Review: Now, I loved Jaws, and I have always been intriqued by the ideas put forth in Jaws by the mere suggestion of Megladons existance. This book starts out extremely well, and ends not to shabbily. It's somewhere in the middle that it gets TOO unreal(the whole scene with the Nautilus...made my skin crawl.) If you read this one, then you need to read Extinct also...if the best parts of both books were combined, then they would be an excellent novel(much like their grandfather, Jaws) instead of two mearly 'entertaining' novels.
