Summary: Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror
Review: Most books I never finish, but this one kept me so excited that I finished it in three days.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Meg and The Trench~ Steve Alten
Review: His books are of the most prolific I've ever seen! Meg- wow! That book was a heartstopper! But the Trench is what got me hooked-What can I say? It was the first book of his that I read. Both novels are beautifully written. I look up to him as an author. I am an author myself and his books have inspired me. (No I'm not gonna copy his novels) His work with fiction and horror and gore etc have allowed me to develope my mind to write like that. I can write better because of it. Thanks Steve. Once again, his work is truly prolific.

Summary: page turner!!!
Review: This is such a page turner, seriously!!! I got it as a gift and I wasn't thinking much of it at first as I thought it will be one of those cheesy sci-fi....but..... I couldn't put the book afterwards...its very entertaining and when I heard that megalodon was really excist its even better,...it even got me thinking its still somewhere down in the deep blue sea,..silly'eh'... Hoping that they'll make the movie....can't wait to read trench,..... down side the story about the wife's affair and lot get drag out too much and kind of irrelevant to me,....hoping more meg action....but overall its good....

Summary: Jurassic Park meets Jaws!
Review: Dynamite book...I had honestly never heard of this author before, but if "Trench" is any indication, move over Peter Benchley! This would make an excellent movie...sci-fi fans and action adventure fans alike should love this book!

The premise of the book is excellent...it's true that we know more about our solar system that we do about what exists at the bottom of the sea. Get this book! You'll be glad you did!

Summary: Terror lies within the watery depths
Review: Be wary of where you swim, for MEG lurks beneeth the tide, waiting, waiting...for her next meal. It could be you! I loved this book! It was the coolest! Steve Alten is a talented writer. i have read all the MEG books and can't wait for Primal Waters. I wish these series of books wouldn't end! He is a captivating authors, who will suck you into his work and make it alive. So alive you won't want to going swimming for a while. When I read this book, I couldn't put it down! it was the best. I rate it five stars. EVeryone who loves sharks, or loves suspense should read this book.

Summary: Ancient and dangerous
Review: All I have to say about this book is that if you have always wondered what it was wayy back then to where Dinosaurs lived, as to how scary it could of been to see a meg. shark right in front of you, then this is the book. Has some KuHL details to explain the meg etc. Loved it. Read it three times. "The trench" is the Con. of meg. not as good as the begining one, meg though but still a good book if you adore sharks.

Summary: Incredibly entertaining! A real page turner!
Review: Steve Alten's first published novel was excellent! I agree with many other reviewers in that it is definitely a GREAT SUMMER READ! Don't go to the beach if you are reading this book! This book SCREAMS to be turned into a movie. The descriptions and tension created by Alten keep you thirsting for more. You would think that it is a very short book, when in fact you just cant put it down! I read this book in the Summer of 1997. I didnt want to go back to the beach again. Another great aspect about it is that Alten provides an intelligent theory of what may have happened to the Megalodon, the gigantic prehistoric shark for which the book is named.

Alten's sequel 'The Trench' is not nearly as good as Meg, but i still highly recommend it. IF you enjoyed Meg you will definitely enjoy the Trench.

Steve Alten is a very good writer and I can't wait to read his next book, Domain!

Summary: Fast-paced entertaining read!
Review: I started reading this book one afternoon, and did not put it down once until it was finished. Alten does a great job of bringing the reader into the story, weaving the Meg's history into the story thoroughly enough that even the non-shark-obsessed can readily follow the story line. I thought the romance more distracting than anything else, and the ending had "insert sequel here" written all over it, but overall a GREAT read. I've just ordered "The Trench", and this reader is very anxious to pick up the story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: great book
Review: Very tense, combines my fear of deep dark water (the Trench does even moreso!) and large sharks. Great read, hope MEG eventually reaches the big screen! Would be stunning on IMAX..perhaps a limited run on their 7 story screens? Meg would be life-size up there. My only prayer is that they stay true to the book..

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: More a Summer Movie treatment than a novel.
Review: Steve Alten's novel Meg reads more like the novelization of a Summer Event Picture that, in the wake the American Godzilla debacle, just didn't get around to happening. But I didn't expect much in the character department anyway, I just wanted a lot of scenes of a giant shark ripping boats and people to shreads. I got what I wanted.
