Summary: The Best, The Scariest, The Creepiest
Review: I'm a 13 year old boy, craving horror more than ever. This book defineately satisfied my craving. This is arguably the best Horror story ever written.

Summary: Very good-interesting
Review: I was very pleased with this book. It was realistic and gave a true horrifying depiction of a true exorcism. Willam Peter Blatty did a wonderful job!

Summary: Terror for Thought
Review: As Blatty's novel has become an undisputed modern classic, there's no need for me to expound upon the greatness of this book. It is interesting, however, to note what you might get out of the story. I read it quickly in under three days, as I couldn't put it down, and I found myself thinking more about the possibilities of evil and the forms that it is able to take. While I am still a skeptic, the novel has made me consider other ideas; and isn't it for that kind of stimulation that we read?

Summary: The Horror Ride Of A Lifetime
Review: This impressive horror novel brings to life the world of demonic spirits and possesion of the most terrible kind. I'm sure that almost everyone has more than likely seen the movie before reading the book, but it will still not fail to frighten even the bravest soul. If you could get drunk on horror, then you would be wasted by the conclusion of this one. This is a novel of epic horror proportions.

Summary: It was the best piece of literiture I have ever read.
Review: The Exorcsit was a very good book becuse I like how the author William Peter Blatty used other referces like a book written by K. Osked. My favorate part in the book is when Reagan spins her head around and when she first meets Damian Karras. If I had a credit card I would buy the new book.

Summary: The ULTIMATE horror book!!!
Review: It's scary, it's suspenseful, it's everything you've heard about the book... I read it in six hours flat (finished it at three in the morning, no less), and I recommend you do the same if you buy the book--read it through non-stop the first time, then read it again. You'll discover his writing technique is amazing the second time around. And you start to really understand the characters the second time around as well. One of my favorite books. (Oh, and if you REALLY wanna enjoy this book, I highly recommend you read it after midnight with only one light on in your room--trust me, it's worth it!!!.)

Summary: The possession of the 12 year old girl is what made the book
Review: This book is a masterpiece that only a person who can express himself and think for himself can write. When the book begins, it seems all boring, because nothing is really going on. Later, when the housekeeper hears some noises up in the attic, that is when the book starts to get interesting. When Reagen was being tossed around on her bed (when the deamon was trying to possess her), I was able to picture it in my mind. When Pazuzzo (King of the Evil Spirits of the Air) finally does possess her, things start to really get interesting. Reagen has no control over what she does anymore, and she tries to kill her mother after jerking off with the crucifix saying "**#% me Jesus, **#% me." Trying to kill her mother first by trying to stab her with the scissors, and then by trying to crush her with the dresser. Reagen now knows the weaknesses of the two priests who will try to excorsie Pazuzzo out of the 12 year old girl. Pazzuzo uses Father Damian's mother's spirit to make him go crazy, and she also uses the elder priest's heart condition to kill him. Father Damian, after almost having a nervous breakdown, finally gets enough courage to face the demon, and walks in the room to see a dead priest lying on the floor. Father Damian, feeling all brave and wanting the girl to have a normal life, forces the demon to possess him and leave the girl. Father Damian, being able to control the demon for a few seconds, doesn't want to hurt Reagen, and so he jumps out the bedroom window so that she would be saved. When it is all over, Reagen says that she doesn't remember a thing, but after she sees a cross on another priest, she does remember, but still doesn't tell anyone. We all think that we could never get possessed, but in a way, whenever we sin, we are possessed, not by a major demon, but by our own demons of lust, envy, etc. We all hope that we never have to go through what that girl (or should I say the boy who was possessed that the book was written about) went through.

Summary: this book rocks
Review: I just finished reading the book. I have been intigued by the movie for years so I thought it was time to read the book. It was fantastic. The book has made me appreciate the movie even more. It goes into much more detail ,of course, but it gives the reader a much more understanding of what was taking place in the movie. The book shows the relationships between Karros, Kinderman, Dyer, and etc. All I can say is that if you are any fan of the movie this is a must read or you will never know what was actually taking place from what the movie presented. Please read this, you wont be sorry.

Summary: An learned, honest and compelling work
Review: An extraordinary novel, but not a work of horror at all. This is real theology dressed in the garb of a supernatural thriller. Blatty made clear for me exactly what the Catholic Church believes about the nature of evil and its place in a universe ruled by an all-powerful and benevolent God. I don't share those beliefs, but this compelling, eloquent presentation of them is highly recommended for anyone interested in the intellectual and spiritual issues involved. The author is obviously very learned and he fills his novel with wonderful discussions about psychiatry, medicine, science, and religion. It's an honest and subtle work that faces the difficult questions it raises head-on. I hardly expected so much intellectual depth from what I had ignorantly come to regard as a cheap shocker.
