Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book! Review: I am normally one of the worst people at reading novels, but when I finished this book, I looked back and discovered that I had read about 120 pages in only 3 hours! That blew me away! It's just that Resident Evil 2 the game was so unbelievably great, and I could now see it in an even more movie like format! Leon Kennedy was always in my eyes much more of a hero than Chris Redfield, being more courageous and selfless. It's mainly because Leon took a bullet for Ada, went back for her even though there were zombies in the way, and tries to save her after she was going to shoot him if he didn't give her the super G-Virus.This book shows his endurance with more detail, like where he lands on his bullet wound several times, takes it each time, and always continues. Wow, what a guy! Not that I don't like Claire Redfield, I do, and not just because she was the first video game character that I got dirty thoughts of. She also endures a lot, but it wasn't until this book that I really understood. In this book, Claire hesitates to shoot the first zombie she is cornered by, because it is a living target. Detail like that is all over the book, and it is really amazing. The gore is explained in gut-wrenching clarity too, and some tortured thoughts of Annette Birkin and Chief Irons are also presented wonderfully. One of the only gripes I had with this book is that you always know that Ada is a spy, unlike in the game where you don't find out until the end. Even worse, the most dramatic scene in the game (actually, I can only think of a few Hollywood scenes more powerful) is when Ada dies, and the novel's version is almost unbelievably un-dramatic. However, apart from those, this is an easy read for those bad at reading, and this book is not only for fans of the game/series, but of anyone who enjoys a thrilling read. I wish that S. D. Perry was a twenty-two or so year old and not married, for I like the way she thinks, and I would most likely ask her out! Oh well. This book is still a sensation! Get it!
Rating: Summary: The city of the dead was never so alive Review: This book was very discriptive and revealed the true events of resident evil 2 that the game just couldn't cover. Know every thought of the characters, find out just how powerful the bioweopons really were, realize the true events from the false events in the game, and know just what REALLY happened. This book rocked! It was very descriptive and never got boring, and none of those cheesy false curse words like blast or shoot. This is a book that is so detailed in thought that I was agreeing with what the characters thought. Try it and you'll love it too!
Rating: Summary: Very Good. Review: It was very good but it was to much like the video game. It was a very good book in the resident Evil book serizes.
Rating: Summary: I really wanted four and a half stars... Review: Don't get me wrong, this is a good book, but I wish S.D. Perry would have made more interaction with the creatures. And the way this book ended conflicts with Resident Evil; Nemesis. At the end the city apparently burns down because of the explosion at the lab, but in Nemesis they nuke the city. Now I'm a big fan of the Resident Evil series, games, etc. And I'm not trying to completely dis the book. I just noticed that and it didn't make sense. I like the orginal novels and how she made Trent. I still don't completely get how he knows every detail though. I guess it's a mystery that will have to go unsolved. This is a great series and I recommend it to and Resident Evil or even a horror/action fan. Well worth your money. Keep 'em coming S.D.
Rating: Summary: This book rocks and Resident Evil rulz! Review: If you like any game of the Resident Evil series, or read the previous books in the series (Umbrella Conspiracy & Caliban Cove) then this is for you. It's the writers' adaptation of Resident Evil 2, the hit game for Nintendo 64 and PlayStation. The main characters are Leon Kennedy, a cop who just signed up to work at Raccoon City Police Department but arrives in town to find something horribly wrong, and Claire Redfield, the younger sister of Chris Redfield, hero from the Umbrella Conspiracy, who has come to Raccoon to find her brother. Even for non-Resident Evil fans, THIS IS A GREAT BOOK! Oh, yeah---my praise for S.D. Perry! You go, girl!
Rating: Summary: Greate book Review: I just finshed reading the book today. I really must say it is the best and the longest book I've ever read. For those of you who do not like to read but love to play the RE videogames just give this book a chance
Rating: Summary: "The way a video game novel should be made! " Review: Many Resident Evil critics find the most complete sett of stories on Resident Evil by S.D Perry to be incompleted or to many things added to the story that have no need for us the readers to know. This is not true because the story has elements that had us the Resident Evil fans wondering what happened in the game. It took capcom five sequels to explain the events of the past, present and future in Resident evil when we had two books or adventures not listed in capcoms Resident evil games[caliban cove, underworld] that were fully created for the wait of further RE games. What im saying is that she filled in details that had big plot holes we found later on in the actual game, she also gave every caracter a full back round not given completly in the game; she also gave the caracters motives that were truly not explained in the RE saga or by capcom."S.d PERRY IS A GOOD STORY TELLER THAT COMBINES HER STYLE WITH THE STYLE PROVIDED BY A STORY SHE NEVER CREATED AND TURNED IT INTO HER PERSONAL NOVEL" Well my conclution is that she not only got us more deep in the story shes also worcking on nemisis re 5 and i hope it does better that this book and it keeps re fans satified!
Rating: Summary: S.D. Perry is a genius! Review: The book was very good, I had nightmares about it they should many more.I loved it, I liked the vivid detail about the zombies and monsters. I reccomend this book for any resident evil or horror book fans.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: I think S.D. Perry is a great writer. Her books are fairly easy reading books and are easy to get into. I've played through RE2 a couple a times and was amazed how she was able to write a book that was almost exactly like the game. Basically, if you even remotely liked the game, or remotely like reading, you should probably read this book. I can't wait for her next book to come out!
Rating: Summary: city of the dead is the best soo far! Review: i think this book rocks. To me the book is like a guide if you owne a copy of Resident Evil 2.It has everything, that you would like to have in a real book. The other thing is that the details are soo exsact and it fels like your in the real game.On the downside is that if you have passed the game R.E 2 its a litle bit of the same but the good thing is that they dont take the same way you have to go through the game. SURE BEATS WEAK BOOKS LIKE STAR TREK.BOOOH STAR TREK!
