Summary: Awesome Book, a must read for all Resident Evil Fans
Review: Ok, first off the first RE expierence I had was with the second game (the subject of this book) and ever since I played that game I've been fasinated, and hooked on the Resident Evil series of all kinds. The games, the comics, the books everything. I have been lookign forward to the release of the 6th instalment of the game series. I thought I have read every online report, every game review, and detailed side story about Resident Evil...until I was told about this series. City of the Dead is the first one I picked up. It is an amazing book. I have beaten RE2, and I found it fasinating how S.D. Perry told the story from the POV (point of view) of all the characters, just not Leon and Claire. You get a inside look on Ada, Sherry, Annete Birkin, and the mysterious Chief Brian Irons. I can't wait to read the whole series and become a dedicated fan to the whole adaptation of the games. I enjoy the games, but I can't get enough out of them, and these books provide a more detailed story to the Resident Evil saga. Their is more to Resident Evil than all the books, games, comics, graphic novels, could ever provide, but this series does a very good job at making you understand the whole concept and story of it all more satisfying. I recomend this to all RE fans, because this truly is an awesome adaptation.

Summary: City of the extremely good book
Review: The biggest and best of the series. Resident Evil City of the dead or Resident Evil 2 is the novelisation of the award winning Resident Evil 2. What i have numerous times stated with these books is that they dont just describe the plot in the game but also give you sub plots of what other characthers do ie Chief Irons and Anette Birkin who you dont have a clue what theyt were doing intill this book reveals it. The book follows Leon.S.Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they battle throught the racoon police department and try to escape. For some reason or another actually knowing what will happen (I have compleated the game loads of times) makes the books even better because you want to see how S.D Perry describes the main events of the game. the book is massive 330 pages of it and every single bit of it will get your juices going. Wether you have played the game or not does not matter this is a must buy.

Summary: WOW! ! ! ! !
Review: Where to begin. It had a great story. Mrs Perry did a great job putting the RESDIENT EVIL 2 video game into a book. O.K the story begins with Clair looking for her brother Chris in the small town of Raccoon City. On her way she meets a rookie cop by the name of Leon Kennedy. They soon realize that everyone in the city was slowly infected with a virus that turns who ever is in contact with it into flesh eating zombies. This chilling, fun, horror mystery book should be read by teens (12-older) because it has its bloody parts and does have cussing in it ( hey if oyu were in there position what would you sa...lol ). RESIDENT EVIL: CITY OF THE DEAD is a book that all RESIDENT EVIL fans should own. go buy it today! ! ! !

Summary: The best BOOK i have read in my WHOLE LIFE!!!!
Review: Resident Evil City of the Dead

This is the best book that I have read in my whole life. I recommend this book to everyone who has either played the game or likes horror books. Leon Kennedy is a rookie cop. He lives for the need to protect, serve, and help the innocent. While reckless Leon is highly skilled and quilified enough to serve as a cop for the Raccoon Police Department. Claire Redfield is a light-hearted modern women. She can be a bit Tomboy at times and she is somewhat wild. Self-confident, she is the first person to try something many others would not. This book is about a secret company called Umbrella. They have created a virus called the T-Virus and it turns anybody and anything into flesh-eating monsters if taken.

As with every book there is a theme to the book I think that the author's theme to this story is that good will always win. Well at least in a video game. This book has so much detail that you can get a detailed picture of the book in your head. If you enjoy horror books, or suspense then read this book. Also play the game it is the best game for Playstation and the best game out of all systems.

Summary: New Found Fan
Review: I am a new fan to the 'Resident Evil' saga. The first RE game I played was RE2, and I found it very interesting. Just the other week I was looking through a Walden Books store and I found that the RE saga was also in novel form.

I picked up the book and read only a couple pages when I was hooked. I bought 'City of the Dead' and finished it in one week. The book was excellent! I liked the way the author carefully detailed the zombies, the Re3 (the Licker) and Mr.X, the genetically enhanced creature that stalked Sherry Birkin and Claire Redfield. Shortly after reading the book I struck up a strong interest in the saga. By the way, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield are my favorite characters.

Overall I fully enjoyed 'Resident Evil 2: City of the Dead'. The detail really outstanded me and I get the full effect when I read it at midnight! Great stuff...now I get to collect the entire novel series!

Summary: Fan of the games or not, this is an incredible read
Review: City of the Dead, the third book in S.D. Perry's series of Resident Evil novels, more than covers all the ground from the video game it is based and adapted from (Resident Evil 2), but it is all the more compelling, scary, and suspenseful and is the true definition of a "page turner". The story begins a few months after the incident at the mansion in Raccoon City when rookie cop Leon Kennedy arrives for his first day on the job. When he arrives in the town; he finds it desserted minus the re-animated corpses with a taste for human flesh strolling around. He soon meets up with Claire Redfield who is searching for her brother Chris (the hero from the first game and novel); and the two encounter a host of other characters human and non-human alike. Perry's knack for developing her characters is in full effect here, and the reader never feels left out when the action goes full throttle. City of the Dead flows nearly identical to the game it is adapted from, which fans of the game will no doubt be pleased with. All in all, City of the Dead is one of, if not the, best books in Perry's Resident Evil series, and even if your not a fan of the games but are a fan of horror and zombie films than you should definitely give this a look.

Summary: One word. Outstanding.
Review: I have been a faithful fan to the Resident Evil series, both the games and the books, since '97, and I would just like to say that while I don't agree that RE2 is the best RE game out there, this is by far the best book I've ever read. I've read all six of the books. They are all great, but this one is the longest and the most detailed. I never lost interest in this book once. Flawless.

This novel gave me a new respect for Claire Redfield, her attitude and sarcasm in this godforsaken situation is very humorous, and she is a very cool person. Another thing that's cool about this novel, as well as the other RE novels is that you see things from everyone's point of view, so you can get to know how characters act and think. From the heroic rookie cop Leon Kennedy, to the sick and Twisted Chief Brian Irons.

This book is one of the only books that actually gives me the creeps, because the monster's details and actions are depicted so well, it will have you sleeping with the light on. READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: City of the Dead
Review: Umbrella Corporation strikes again. A new terror has been unleashed upon the quiet dwelling town of Raccoon City turning it into a necropolis. Umbrella Corporation, in its mad craves to produce biochemical weapons, has once again created a horrible new virus, the T virus. The T virus along with the old G virus, were not well contained and has spread throughout the city, turning all its citizens into living dead. Clair Redfield, sister of former S.T.A.R.S. agent Chris Redfield has decided to go look for her brother. On the way, she meets Leon Kennedy, a rookie cop assigned to the Raccoon City police force. Together, they have to fight through hordes of undead as well as some new evils. Under the assumption that all survivors are united in cause, they trust all the people they encounter, even those who shouldn't be trusted. The nightmare they're stuck in soon becomes entangled with deceit, loyalty, and friendship, as the survivors of the virus, struggle against time to escape the fierce creations of the Umbrella Corporation.

I really enjoyed this book. Resident Evil is an awesome game, and after seeing the title of the book, I knew I had to read it. This book was so well written that once I started, I wasn't able to put it down until I finished it. At every page, there is an unexpected turn, or a surprise lurking in the dark that alter the paths of Claire and Leon. Though there are a lot of lies and deceit, in the end, the people stand united as the force of good battling the evils in the city. The structure of the book is also really well organized. Sometimes, S.D. Perry displaces some of the crucial information and saves it for the end, thus making the reader always want to read on. Overall, the book also relates really well to me. The book involves a lot of fights and threats and I'm really into that stuff. I am so pleased with this book that I am already on a hunt to find the other books in this series. I would strongly recommend this book to any Resident Evil fan as well as any thrill seekers.

Summary: City of the Dead
Review: "Resident Evil" is a series, like "Lord of the Rings," but it is a longer series. Never had played the first versions of Resident Evil, but have seen my friends play it on Game Cube, and it caught my attention that it was a really dark and gloomy game. It scares people. Something which I like to do to my self every once in while, not sure why, but I like to watch and read scary stories because it's exciting, it goes in depth. I never really tried playing, but it was at another friends house that on his dusty book self my attention turned to one book, "Resident Evil: City of the Dead." I grabbed a chair and quickly reached for it, and my friend happily lent it to me never ever reading one page of the book. When I started reading this book every page was exciting.

I think this book was done extremely well and it was very, very exiting, at times I stopped reading at night because it just freaked me out. The author wrote this book with extreme awareness about how to catch the reader's attention. There are so many parts in this book that catches your attention that I can't even count on my fingers. Sometimes it's just getting too late and I want to stop but it's just too exciting so I go on, and usually stop only when the chapter ends. I am very pleased because I am not a reading type of person, but this book was one of the only books I really enjoyed.

S.D. Perry has written this in a very quick with character changing patterns, but after a while you will get the hang of it. The book has two main characters Leon and Claire, two from different backgrounds, and two fighting for different conflicts. Both ending up fighting back to back against the realms of Evil.
Now I am ordering the entire series by S.D. Perry, not saying you should do the same, but at least try one from a local book store or a friend, you might like it.
