Rating: Summary: Koontz at his best!!!!! Review: An interesting and mysterious story, a town with all its people either dead or disappeared. Thrilling from the beginnig to the end, plenty of action and intrigue. Koontz is surely a master story- and horrorwriter. He beats King with a mile. You even get an interesting theory on how the dinosaurs died. Truly great work!
Rating: Summary: Edge of your seat suspense and horror Review: This is the first novel I ever read by Dean R. Koontz. It was definately the best. I could not put it down. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to be too scared to go to sleep. You won't be able to stop reading until the end!
Rating: Summary: If you're the only one at home in winter..... Don't read!! Review: Dean R. Koontz is an imaginative and spell-binding author. His work is comparable to that of Steven King, but I find his works much more thrilling in setting and design. This work will catch your senses from the very beginning, and leave your heart too scred to beat! The first time I read this book was when it was first published.....It's one of my favorites still to this day!!
Rating: Summary: By far the best horror and sci-fi combo ever. Review: Watchers got me hooked on Koontz but Phantoms far surpassed any expectations I had about his stories. I thoroughly enjoy his endings and the way he tells his stories. Dean Koontz is a master story teller when he is on his game. Phantoms had me nervous about shadows for weeks. One of the few books I could only read for short periods before getting so jumpy I had to pause (although it was extremely difficult to do so) when night came on. I sincerely hope Mr. Koontz writes another story like this one. Bravo for a great story.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant! It definately had me scared! Review: I could not put the book down since the first chapter. Never have I read a book so quick! It's the best book I've ever read!
Rating: Summary: SCARY!!! Review: This is a book I just picked up at Wal-Mart one day as I was looking for my usual Christopher Pike (another GOOD author) books. I saw the title and thought WOW! This looks good. Well let me tell you, it is. Dean Koontz always has and always will describe things to their fullest!
Rating: Summary: A number one novel on my personal top-list Review: This novel is a thriller/horror/adventure story. Powerful atmosphere, invincible enemy. As in many of Dean Koontz's book, deadly creatures pick off the victims one by one. What a wonderful movie they could make out of it. It could be something as major as Jurassic Park.
Rating: Summary: One of Koontz' few "horror" novels, "PHANTOMS" is his best. Review: Probably Koontz' scariest novel, this is also probably his best. Although "PHANTOMS" and "DARKFALL" are probably his only "horror" novels, Koontz keeps pace with his writing as a cross-genre storyteller. This is one book you do not want to put down because you have no idea what is going to happen next and the suspense is consistent from cover-to-cover. With Koontz a part of the production team and having final say to any changes to the story, this should be a great movie when it premiers next month
Rating: Summary: Student, Jamie Davis Review: This was the first title by KOONTZ I had ever read. First rate suspense, and horor!! After reading the first chapter there is no putting the book down until the END!! This book is full of suprising twists and sometimes so scary I had to read with the security system ON! Try reading it if you DARE.. Definitely one of his BEST EVER
Rating: Summary: REALLY eerie Review: One of the scariest horror-novel of the eighties. This book is really eerie, believe me. Fascinating story (a little bit Lovecraft), a real page-turner. Funny side-remark: The German edition came out at the height of the zombie-movie-wave and is called: "A Zombie Novel". Believe me, you can turn every word around several times, there is not a single zombie in this book..
