Rating: Summary: nauseous. Review: My son came home literally heaving and very disturbed by the canibalistic story, after the first chapter was read to him in school. My son is a voracious reader, including the works of J.R.R.Tolkien, however the nature of this story made it highly unsuitable for him. He is nine.
Rating: Summary: Skeleton Man Review: Prepare to be scared! Although based on a Native American tale the author makes you feel as though Molly (the main character) could be anyone in your classroom. When she wakes up to find her parents are not home and that days later they still do not arrive, the eerie tale begins. Molly learns she must trust her intuition and dreams that lead her to know the truth about what is happening to her and what has happened to her parents. Her strength and initiative (warrior instincts) are what gets her through. Not the ending I expected with a children's book , but showing girls can be strong and solve problems makes this a book I would recommend to those who dare to be scared.
Rating: Summary: Skeleton Man Review: Skeleton Man is a very well written book about a young Mohawk girl named Molly whose parents mysteriously disappear. She is left alone to care for herself until a mysterious man claiming to be her uncle arrives to take care of her. Molly knows that the man is not really her uncle, although he convinces social workers with family photos of Molly's parents. These photos appear to be the same photos Molly's parents were carrying when they disappeared. Molly is taken to a spooky old house to live with the uncle who is careful not to reveal his face to Molly, and speaks only to tell her to eat. She is locked in her room each night, and is only allowed to leave to attend school. Molly's only escape from this frightening man is through her dreams where she is befriended by a rabbit who informs Molly her parents are buried but still alive. Is the skeleton man responsible for the disapperance of Molly's parents? Will Molly escape this frightening man, and find her parents? This is an awesome book filled with suspense and impossible to put down until you reach the very last page.
Rating: Summary: Skeleton Man Review: Skeleton Man, by Joseph Bruchac, takes place in modern times. This story is about a girl named Molly and her uncle. Molly's parents have gotten kidnapped by The Skeleton Man. The Skeleton Man is very interesting, he became a Skeleton by burning all of his body parts then somehow eating them. Since her parents are missing she has to live at her uncle's house. During this time Molly starts to dream about The Skeleton coming to her uncle's house and scaring Molly. At this time Molly is afraid of being at her uncle's house because she starts to think that she is living her dream about The Skeleton Man. So every morning her uncle makes her breakfast, but Molly will never eat it because to Molly everything is coming a little too obvious. So after her uncle gives her breakfast she will take her food and dump it for the rats and then get on the bus to school. At school she tells her teacher and then her teacher decides to have a discussion with Molly after school. So after school they start to talk about what is going on. She gets back home. In sight is her uncle in his tool shed that she is not allowed in. If you would like to find out more about this great story go to your local library or buy it. This book is wonderful.

Rating: Summary: Suspense in Skeleton Man by: KNN Grade:5 Review: The book Skeleton Man has frightening events, mysteries questions, and horrifying answers. The main charater, Molly, has to stay with her "so called uncle" because her parents have disappeared. She gets stressed, worried, and scared every night when he locks her in the bedroom. Her "so called uncle" is bony, and creepy, and does freaky things she doesn't understand. The suspense in this book thrills you in terrifing ways that throw you off your feet. This book wraps you in its words and events. It is perfect for anyone who likes adventure, suspense, and mystery.
Rating: Summary: the "never let go of" book by :CLMH grade5 Review: The book Skeleton Man is definitely a quote on quote spine chiller. If you addventours and mysterious books then pop in the car and go the the library because it is a darn good. I would give this book as many stars as it would offer. It starts out as a creppy and horrifing legend and just keeps getting creeper. When Molly, the main character, gets sort of scared when her parents don't come home from a night out in the town. Then her skinny and boney so-called uncle comes and claimes her. When he feeds her for the first time she gets dizzy and never eats his food again. And she especially gets creeped out when he lockes her in her roomand goes to the shed every night. one night she gets a hammer and knocks down the door then she hides in the bushes next to the shed. When her uncle leaves the shed, she sneaks into the shen and looks around. It is all neat and tidy. But then she sees a trapdoor in the corner and goes over to it. She opens it and what does she see!!!!
Rating: Summary: The Skeleton Man Review: The Boring Book After Ray Bond turned 18 years old, his uncle gives him $30,000.00 in cash and places it on a vault in a bank. The next day Ray's uncle is found dead, an apparent suicide. Then someone starts following him and calling him. And the threats begin. I dislike the book because it's boring and confusing. There are too many characters that want the same thing and act kind of the same. Ray is really dumb; he gets mad about everything and acts like a little kid. He treats his really bad and doesn't like to talk to her. Also Ray acts really mean to his girlfriend.
Rating: Summary: The Eye Catcher Review: The fictional book The Skeleton Man by Joseph Bruchac is a mystery that is very good in my opinion and when you start reading you will not want to put the book down. You will get stuck to it because it is so interesting. Some other books that Joseph Bruchac wrote are The Arrow Over The Door and another book that he wrote was Between Earth and Sky. R.L. Stine said "The legend is chilling and the terror builds on every page. The book gave ME nightmares!" This book is about a girl named Molly, when she woke up one morning and saw that her parents were missing she had to move in with her strange great uncle. Molly had never met this person or even talked to him. When she is at his home she starts having dreams. She has dreams about the stories that her father used to tell her. She thinks that the dreams are trying to tell her something but she can not figure them out. These dreams might lead her to danger or give her clues to where her parents might be. This is why you must read this book so you able to find out what these dreams are really trying to tell her and to see what becomes of Molly. I would recommend this book to people that like mysteries because it is so interesting and it will give you something to think about. I would also recommend this book to people that can not read well because the author uses simple words. I think it was a good book and I hope that you like it too.
Rating: Summary: canabal(a.k.a. skeleton man),by amanda hasty Review: This book does a number of things very well. The story is tremendously creepy and scary which is something intermediate grade readers always enjoy. Molly is a great character. She is strong and resourceful and ultimately saves herself. She also does something very sensible, intelligent and believable in the context of the story. She TELLS a trusted teacher about her situation and concerns with her "uncle." Even better, the teacher believes her and tries to help. So often as a reader I wonder why a character doesn't just TELL someone they need help. The background of the Native American folktale is terrific. The final scenes are absolutely gripping.
