Rating: Summary: The best book by Dean Koontz I've ever read Review: Aside from Watchers and Intensity this is Koontz at his very best. Such a good plot and awsome characters. But I do have one complant on this book, it was too long!!!!
Rating: Summary: The best and most suspenseful book I have ever read Review: WOW!!!! This book was incredible. The plot was eery, intelligent and original. It had great twists and the climax was mind-blowing. You can't stop reading from the first page and you can't put this down until you are done. A great story and this is a good book if you want to read Dean Koontz. A great read! YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Outstanding, well thought out, and enjoyable. Review: I've read many Koontz novels and this is one of his best. As usual, Koontz's cross-genre writing talent shines through profusely. The opening sentence, and thereafter the opening scene, transports the reader into the story so much that you don't want to put the book down. The interaction of the characters works very well, similar to Phantoms. And, of course, the plot has been well-constructed, well-researched, and very well-written. A totally enjoyable experience! Great job Dean!
Rating: Summary: Too lengthy and not scary Review: I actually like books that are 500 pages or longer, however this one should have ended itself at least 200 pages before it did. It almost seemed that the author was getting bored with writing it, and put the final climax on the final two pages just to get it over with. I guess I am judging this book with Dean Koontz' other books that are fast-paced horror/thrillers. This book was more of a detective story with sci-fi elements. There was virtually no action during the first 300 pages, and by the time the identity of the mysterious "It" is known by the main character it is very obvious to the reader and also, I thought, a bit anticlimactic. And the story still trudged on for 50 more pages. This book is mostly very well written, of course, and the characters are extremely interesting. However, I became annoyed with reading the same thoughts by Lt. Haldane, over and over and over again throughout this very long book. I guess the lack of action made it seem tedious, but more importantly, the "monster" of this book was not convincingly threatening to me.
Rating: Summary: Not Koontz's best Review: I liked this book, although I felt it was way too long for the type of story it was. It had a lot of different characters, more than neccesary i believe. I liked "A voice in the night" much better. And one more thing, if your not interested in the supernatural and poltergeists this is definately not the book to read.
Rating: Summary: Dean Kootnz is one of my all time favorite authors. Review: This was an interesting book. I could not stop reading it. I have read just about every book he has written. Door to December was a good book, but I have to say, it was not the best. Dean Kootnz is an exceptional writer and all his books are great.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: This is the 3rd DK book I have read, and by far the best!! The story keeps you going till the end.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Koontz books i've read. Review: I can say, as a good reader of Koontz, that this book was as good as Watchers in a different way. I admit it might have ended more affectively but I loved it. I read it in Turkish 5-6 years ago and I'm looking forward to the day I'll read it in English.
Rating: Summary: The Book that got me hooked! Review: This is the first Dean Koontz book that I have read. I love his imagery and storytelling. He is a fascinating novelist and I continue to enjoy his books. Koontz is brilliant and brings his characters to life. I also reccommend Dark Rivers of the Heart and Ticktock. An excellent read!!
Rating: Summary: PURE EXCELLENCE Review: THIS IS ONE OF THE FIRST BOOKS OF HIS THAT I HAVE READ. I HAVE SINCE THEN READ A FEW OF HIS OTHER BOOKS AND SO FAR THIS SURPASSES THE REST BY FAR. HE DRABS YOUR ATTENTION AND DOES NOT LET GO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO IS A PSY. THRILLER FAN.
