Summary: Eye of the Storm
Review: V.C. Andrews, Eye of the Storm, is very thrilling book. It offers drama, tragedy, romance, and suspense. A nineteen-year-old girl, Rain, narrates the book. After the death of her grandmother Hudson Rain inherits millions. She finds herself caught in a battle for the Hudson family wealth. Rain has to face her unaccepting mother, her manipulative stepfather, and her witch of an Aunt, Victoria. No matter how much money Rain has her world keeps going down when sudden tragedy strikes. Rain is helpless and alone after this tragedy and all her dreams are washed away. A friendly stranger helps Rain with his kindness and generosity. But just as soon as her future looks brighter her past comes back to haunt her. Rain has to go through many new obstacles with her new disabled body and has to over come her vicious Aunt and the rest of family. Once she finally does she lives the future she always dreamed of. If you like suspense, tragedy, drama, and romance, I guarantee you will enjoy this book.

Summary: Lightning, Infatuation, Strength, Heartache, And Insanity.
Review: very important- don't read this book until you've read *Rain* and *Lightning Strikes* because you won't understand it at all. anyway- onto the review! i was actually quite impressed with this one.. at first i did not like the character Rain at all, in lightning strikes she just seemed to hard, and sorry for herself, but i enjoyed this book. don't let the rather boring beggining fool you- it really is very good. in this book, Rain has inherited a huge chunk of the hudson fortune, which only brings more trouble from her aunt Victoria, and her mother and stepfather. she also has to deal with her half-brother (Brody's) infatuation with her. when it looks like things are finally going to get better, and she can move back to London, maybe even become an actress- which was a dream of hers, and get to know her father, tragedy befalls Rain again, and she's sent into a whirlwind of heartache.. and her future is in the hands of her deranged Aunt Victoria (in this book, you'll realize just how crazy she is!) finally she finds hope in the arms of her therapist, austin. (a very whitty and caring young man that helps her find the courage to strive for hope, and helps her torward a happy future) at first it looked like this series was going to be almost like a spin-off of the cutler series. but it's proven to be more unique, and well-written. read it! if you liked *Rain* and *Lightning Strikes* you'll definately like this, hey even if you were dissapointed with those two books, you should still give this one a chance.

Summary: An improvement
Review: Wow, I must say. This is a definite improvement over the the previous two Hudson series, but it's still not perfect. Superior but alas still inferior.

What people have previously said is definitely true: this is the best book of the series. While the Hudson story was stumbling left and right in the previous titles, there is more of a flow in this book.

We find Rain back at the Hudson mansion after grandmother Hudson's death. Rain is now loaded with money inherited from grandmother Hudson. Of course, Aunt Victoria and company want to challenge the will and Rain is willing to fight. Not suprisenly, tragedy strikes poor Rain. To make matter worse, Aunt Victoria is beyond the wings out to get Rain. It ain't pretty.

The book does have some interesting elements but it's still the "same old VCA book". Nothing you read in Eye of the Storm is different from previous novels. Everything is either borrowed from this book or borrowed from that book. If you've read all of VCA books, then you will understand what I mean. Want hints? Remember Gates of Paradise, Secrets of the Morning, and Twilight's Child when you read this book--to name only a few. There are minor surprises, but suddenly you think, "That happened in so and so book" so the element of suprirse entertainment is destroyed.

Also, we see the Hudson following the Cutler series once again. People might argue this point, but I have to strongly dissagree. Cutler is there. Hudson is very similar to Cutler--including Eye of the Strom. It's just that in Eye of the Storm the GW cleverly (if you call it cleverness) didn't lay it down in a straight forward format like he did in the previous novels. It's just scattered so it's not that apparent. But if you think about the incidents in the Cutler series and think of the incidents in Eye of the Storm you are probably going to wonder why you never saw the similarities before. The Ghostwriter can't fool everybody.

All and all, an improvement, but not something that is truly stunning.

Summary: Not Too Great
Review: Yes, the book was the best in the series. But that isn't saying much. The plot was somewhat entertaining, but it had nothing to do with the first books in the series. The second book should have been left out entirely because it added nothing to the plot and, if her name was changed, could have been part of a seperate series. This whole series was just a copy of other series, nothing new. Once again the ghostwriter's plot is the same, poor girl loses a parent and goes to live with rich relatives and falls in love. Yawn! I'm not saying that all V.C. Andrews books are bad, that isn't true. She is my favorite writer and I'm sorry to see the ghostwriter print trash like this. The best books r the Flowers in the Attic books. The first books in the Logan series are very good, but in the last couple of books they go back to the same poor girl to rich girl plot. V.C. Andrews has written many good books, this just isn't one of them.
