Rating: Summary: Much better than Lightning Strikes! Review: After being disappointed with Lightning Strikes i was a bit skeptical with reading Eye of the Storm. This book was much better than the first two, focusing more on Rain than her family members. Alot of people in Rain's life were removed in this book, however, a few new people came into it. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly i read the book and look forward to finishing the series.
Rating: Summary: A Disappointing Continuation Review: After reading this book, I just have to post my thoughts. It is V.C Andrews and her ghost writer's worst book. It is not V.C. Andrews writing style, and the plot has nothing to do with the previous books. It seems as if her ghostwriter was so eager to end the book, she killed off everybody but Rain. This book is horrible-don't buy it.
Rating: Summary: NOT AS GOOD AS THE PREVIOUS IN THE SERIES Review: After the death of grandmother Hudson, Rain, finds herself in a battle with her mother, and her wicked aunt for a vast fortune. The entire Hudson fortune has been left to Rain, and the other family members will stop at nothing to make sure she does not see a penny of it.After a brief meeting with the family, Rain, makes it clear she is not after the money, but refuses to give it to the rest of the family, for her grandmother wanted it that way. Her aunt Victoria decides to befriend Rain, as a way to fulfill her own agenda. After a tragic accident leaves Rain helpless, she will welcome the kindness of a stranger, while still harbouring the dark secrets that plague her family. "Eye Of The Storm" is not as good as the other novels in this series; it drags on too long, and the reader is overwhelmed with one tragedy after another. V.C. Andrews has a gift for writing dark fiction, but this novels falls short of her previous books. As always, it is well-written, but halfway through the book I did not care what would happen; the characters were transparent, and the plot did not contain the necessary twists to pull the book to it's climax. Rating: Summary: Rains journey Review: After the death of her beloved grandmother Rain didnt know what to do. She was very depressed. She was all by herself in this huge mansion. Rain had inherited millions of dollars and 51% of the buisness from her grandmother, and the rest of her family including her Aunt Victoria, her mother Megan, and Megan's husband Grant. To get aways from everything for a day Rain went riding on her horse. While deep in thw woods the horse got scared by a snake and threw Rain off. The next thing Rain saw was the ceiling of a hospital. She was told that she was paralized from the waist down. Rain was devistated. When she returned home her Aunt Victoria had a nurse waiting for her and she was told that she would see a therapist once a day everyday. The therapist arrived the next day. His name was Austin and in about a months time Rain and him had fallen in love. They planned to marry but Rain's aunt forbid it. She said he was a fortune hunter and he was only out for the money. In the next couple days Rain got very sick. Aunt Victoria had locked her in a room so she couldnt get out to get help. When Victoria came into her room to feed her she was acting very strange, like she was a little girl again and when Rain told her she thought she was very ill and needed to go to the hospital she simple bypasses it like it was nothing. Rain was getting more and more ill by the day and was on the verg of dieing unless she got the medical attention that she needed. To find out what happens read Eye of the Storm. I would recommend this book for many reasons. The writing in this book is incredible. I couldnt put the book down. Some of the characters are so evil and duranged that it made me want to read on. This book is the third in the series bye V.C Andrews, so of course i would reccomend that you read Rain, and Lightning Strikes first. This book is a real page turner. It was an excellent and extremly exciting book.
Rating: Summary: eye of the storm Review: As usual, V.C. Andrews has done it. I was totally captivated throughout the entire reading and could not put the book down. It is a definite "must read" for V.C. Andrews fans.

Rating: Summary: The Storm Ended long before... Review: Being of the same multi-racial heritage of Rain (my mother is white and my father is black) I thought the story of Rain my interest me and give me a main character I could really relate to in a novel. How terrible wrong I was... To begin with The "Thrilling Hudson Series" a term which would be more aptly applied to a story about a fish in the river hudson rather than this book series. I found the story of poor/good girl moves into rich tawdry family and incest insues was a little tired. The main character of the novel, has by now lost all of my sympathy and lost it when she simply dropped her panties in the first novel for her love interest.(In the book she said she wanted to wait for sex when it was during a special moment) Is doing well on your first night on stage during a play a worthy cause for loosing your virginty? I am by no means a preacher about sex and promiscuity but I'm sorry to say when the Ghostwriter attempted to protray a 'strong' minority character who the reader can sympathize they shoudl have the character stick by their morals. V. C. Andrews shocked us and earned our sympathy when she masterfully told a story about characters who get inevitablly drawn into incest against their own will in a story that is beautifully written. The Ghostwriter simply makes it so much tawdry trash. (SPOILER) but in this last novel the Ghostwriter appears to have realized they have written themselves into a hole and attempt to neatly wrap up the series in a chain of completely unbelieveable and ridiculous events that I found my made stomach turn. Rain becomes paralyzed from the waist down? Her half brother is killed in a car accident? And the doofy physical therapist she falls in love with? What is with this terrible hack plot? If you are a first time V.C. Andrews reader, I reccomend picking up one of the early novels written while she was still alive.I have to say when I finished this last book I applauded it's end. Thankful I would not have to return to these characters. Imagine my surprise at the annoucement of a last novel in the series. this is one I WILL NOT be reading.
Rating: Summary: One Tragedy After Another Review: Can one person really endure so much bad luck and tragedy? Rain is raised by a step-family, with many tragedies of their own. Then she inherits most of the fortune of her Grandmother Hudson, which incurs the wrath of her real mother and the vicious, demented Aunt Victoria. She seems to have no friends in the world other than the family chauffeur, Jake. And Jake is not exactly a role model with his lonely life and chronic alcoholism. Another close family member dies tragically, then Rain is paralyzed in a riding accident, and she becomes Aunt Victoria's victim after moving back home. If you've read other V.C. Andrews novels, you know that there will eventually be a happy ending, but getting there is a torturous route. The writing is sometimes laughable, such as the following line at the end of Chapter 5: "Maybe it was a combination of everyone tossing his or her self-interest into the fragile boat of love, sinking it in the sea of tragedy we were destined to cross together." I was also annoyed by the many typographical errors; for instance, the word "panty" was used instead of "pantry" and the psychologist's name was changed back and forth from Dr. Snyder to Dr. Synder multiple times. An attentive editor with a sharp pencil should have caught these inconsistencies. This book reminded me why I stopped reading V.C. Andrews several years ago...unreal, poorly constructed plots and predictable endings after convoluted ramblings through the land of insanity and cruelty.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS A GREAT SERIES Review: Can't wait to read the next book of Rain's 16 year old daugther. The books have alot of surprises.
Rating: Summary: Give up the Ghost! Review: Eye of the Storm is an insult to V.C. Andrews fans everywhere. I really hated this book and it took me forever to get through it. Why do I waste my time reading books by the ghost writer? Heaven only knows. I hated that Rain got paralyzed...didn;t mean to "spoil" it for those who may not have read it, but c'mon! This was way too much like Annie in Gates of Paradise. Could we not come up with a more creative tragedy to befall our dear Rain? And I was not convinced of the love between Rain and the red-headed therapist. Puh-leaze! And the killing off of her brother, Brody? What was that all about? Of course, fifty millin people have to die in a V.C. andrews novel...it's part of the formula, right. AWFUL, awful, awful book. Rain is too much of a cardboard character. She doesn't listen to any music but classical, which I find unbelievable, she refers to herself as a mulatto ( a very passe' term...the pc term is now biracial or multi-cultural-haha). Why couldn't the writer delve more into Rain finding out about her mixed heritage? It's seems to me since she found out she was half-white, then she had nothing else to do with black people, except for Roy and that maid. Very, very unrealistic! I am sure V.C. Andrews is rolling over in her grave. Zero stars for this junk!
