Rating: Summary: Very Interesting Review: This book was the first book I read by Erica Spindler. And it did make me read more of her books. I think she is a very good writer. She kept me interested from the the first pageIt is about a little girl who is kidnapped and gets away. Now as an adult she writes mysteries in New Orleans under a new name. She is still terrified of her old kidnapper finding her again. Then the murders start. And Anna North finds herself drawn into the investigation because of her ties to the case. Something is very familiar about the victims. There are a few red herrings along the way. But I did manage to figure out who the killer was. Still I did enjoy this book and I would recommend other Erica Spindler books too. Especially SHOCKING PINK.
Rating: Summary: A Waste of Time Review: This is probably Erica's BEST mystery. From beginning to end she takes you on a wild ride that leaves you guessing. Then, just when you think you figured out whodunit... you get knocked off your chair with a suprise. Not a book to pass up if you like murder mysteries with a twist.

Rating: Summary: Pretty Good! Review: This was a pretty good book, but I don't think it was as good as her two previous novels. I had already figured out one thing about one of the characters, but the revelation of the killer was a surprise to me. I didn't see that coming. I thought that was really good. Overall I enjoyed, which is why I give it 5 stars, but I think Ms Spindler she has written on a more compelling level before now.
Rating: Summary: A Waste of Time Review: This was an extremely disappointing read. The killer is glaringly obvious throughout the entire book, though the reasons for it were not (an interesting twist, but not enough to redeem the book). The book lacks color, despite its setting. The author uses the Big Easy stricly for locale and not for atmosphere, trying occasionally to throw in the word "cher" to make some of the characters sound Cajun. The language was juvenile and overused. I'm surprised no one else was bothered by how many time the author repeats the phrase "He muttered an oath." It appears virtually everywhere, several times on consecutive pages, and shows a lack of imagination. I'm tempted to go back and reread the book to count how many times that particular phrase is used, but I'm really not motivated enough to try to read it again. Don't waste your time...
Rating: Summary: Extremely disappointing Review: Two things: I don't like being negative, and I don't like giving up on a book once I've started reading it. Unfortunately I had to do both with this book. I bought Bone Cold because I was sure the accolades thrown at this author's work would make it worthwhile and the sleeve notes made it sound interesting. Turns out the plot was completely unbelievable, the characters two-dimensional and full of clichés. As for the awful dialogue . . . well, that's just not the way characters in those roles would talk. Here the author's heritage in romantic fiction showed through as there were countless references to characters "muttering an oath" rather than actually swearing, as they surely would do in today's non-romantic society. I'm sure the locations in New Orleans were accurately written, but the remainder of the book seemed poorly researched and lacked any realistic color. All in all, I'm sorry Erica, this book was a waste of three train journeys for me as I struggled to see the point. This was truly the most disappointing read of the year so far for me. If you want to read a real thriller with interesting characters and a story that rips along, try California Fire and Life by Don Winslow. I can't be negative about it, and couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: Bone Cold Review: With phrases such as "damnation and blueberries" one has to wonder why this silly book got printed. This woman needs to stick to romance novels and leave the real writting to women such as Elizabeth George or Jane Smiley. Waste of time and waste of money.
