Summary: Creepy
Review: This novel is 20 times more fulfilling than the movie was. It follows a girl named Ellen who has a horrifying expirience while married to a carnival owner. 20 years later she is happily married but a hardcore alcoholic who forces religion down the throats of her two children. Her oldest daughter bares the brunt of her mother's anger and it forces her to want to succumb to temptation to hurt her mother. Meanwhile Ellen's ex-husnband has brought the carnival into town and is looking to even te score

Summary: Mr. Jeffrey's Mystery. Solved.
Review: This is not a review, just a correction. Mr. Robert E. Jeffrey seems to be shocked by the fact that he read EXACTLY THE SAME BOOK by a different author called Owen West. Apparently he is unaware of the fact that Dean Koontz uses two (of which I am aware) nom de plumes, one of which happens to be Owen West. So, no wonder that the books Mr. Jeffries read, were the same. They were written by the same person- Dean Koontz- under different names.

Summary: This is a review as well as a message...
Review: Yes, I am here to review this book, but first I have a response for Robert E. Jeffrey(rejeffrey@aol.com), a fellow reviewer who is rather half-witted: Of COURSE this is the same story as the movie! That's why it's called a "novelization," brainiac! If you had a few more brain cells, you might have read in the back of the book that Dean R. Koontz was paid to make a novelization of the movie! As for the second part of this review, I will give my comments: I liked the book. Normally I hate reading novelizations of movies, but in this case, seeing that Koontz wrote it and all, I don't mind. There is ALWAYS sex in his novels, but this is one had the most, following Night Chills, The Vision, and Whispers. This book was very scary and mysterious, and recalled another famous book: Rosemary's Baby. All in all, I liked it. The sex and ways that some characters acted was a little off, but it deserved at least 4 1/2 stars.

Summary: Isn't This The SAME EXACT Plot as the Movie????
Review: About a year ago I found a great novelization of the movie "The Funhouse" at my cousin's house. I can't remember who wrote it, I think it was Owen Wilson, Owen West, something like that. Anyway it was very different from the film, and was about a woman who flees her husband and this grotesque, evil child she gave birth to with him. Years later she has a new husband and two children, and her eldest daugther spends the night in the funhouse with her friends and is hunted down. I can't remember the names of the characters, and I can't remember all of the events from that point on, but it sounds to me like the SAME EXACT plot??? Is this for real? What I know of Koontz has been very good, but this sounds like nothing short of copyright infringement to me! (Incidentally, the book and movie are worth checking out!)

Summary: This is Koontz??
Review: A B-grade effort from Dean. His afterword does excuse the thrown-togetherness of this book. It's very predictable and rather boring actually.

Summary: Average
Review: Not too impressive as far as Koontz goes. Fairly exciting, but sometimes read like a B movie script. I didn't dislike it, just wasn't as impressed as I have been with some others of his.
