Rating: Summary: One of King's Best Ever!! Review: This book is one of King's best! It was so suspensful!! I couldn't put it down!! The movie doesn't even come close to the suspense of the book!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Not his best, but still good reading. Review: King, aka Bachman, stirs up a chilling tale of a man curse with his own desire. I thought the books plot line was riveting and the characters excellence, but this was a early King novel and it shows. Also to anyone who claims the movie was better than the book....your nuts. The movie (as most movies do) did not do the book justice.
Rating: Summary: Short, but sweet Review: Okay, so the story is pretty outrageous and the movie was a real stinker, but gosh, how suspenseful! Can you imagine the horror of being in this man's shoes? Losing bodyweight everyday until you're wasted down to nothing, and helpless to control it!
Rating: Summary: NOT ONE OF KINGS BEST- BUT STILL GOOD Review: I LIKED THE STORY LINE. IT WAS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE I THOUGHT. WAS A LITTLE FRUSTRATED IN THE CURSE THING. BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A GOOD BOOK AND WILL RECOMMEND IT TO ALL WHO ASK MY OPINION
Rating: Summary: Fair...I guess Review: Ok, so I thought this book was ok, the movie made it better...if you like Stephen King, read it, if it doesn't sound that good, FORGET IT!
Rating: Summary: A Few Words Review: This book was one of King's best. King has done it again.
Rating: Summary: Kind of Boring... Review: At the beginning when the guy starts losing weight, that's kind of cool. You think to yourself "Wow, this is going to be awsome!" But in the end, it's dumb. The guy goes through all this trouble... Pretty sad...
Rating: Summary: This is pretty bad. Review: I really don't like this book very much because most of the book was spent trying to track down that freakin' gypsy. That guy was trying to do that through the entire book while he almost drove his family insane, and kept losing weight. I think he should have stayed with those research people. This also has a very odd ending.
Rating: Summary: This book explains the consequenses of watching your weight. Review: I thought that "Thinner was a well-thought out book, with an easily followed story line and an interesting plot. The humorous aspect of the story had a moral: Don't watch your weight; someone else could be watching you! Stephen King has had yet another great success in the novel industry.
Rating: Summary: Not Scary, Not Interesting, Don't Buy It. Review: Okay, here goes. A gypsy witch, metabolic imbalance, pies, etc. etc. etc. C'mon. After the age of sixteen, this stuff isn't scary anymore, only humorous. I've always considered King an engaging writer who spins a good yarn, but the only story of his that's every truly frightened me was "Grandmother", a short story from his collection "Skeleton Crew". Thinner isn't even an interesting story (ala the Bachman books or any of his early work). Leave the book at the bookstore. Don't touch! Bad reader!
