Rating: Summary: A really good book! Review: I read this book a year or two ago. I thought it was pretty good. Then I read it again a couple weeks ago and understood a lot more--you wouldn't believe how much a kid can learn in a year! I thought it was the best book. It's odd how everything kinda ends up how it all works out... it's pretty amazing. I loved it.
Rating: Summary: This is my favorite book in the whole world!!! Review: I read Christopher Pike all of the time. My first book of his was Remember Me and after that I was hooked. This is his first adult book that I had ever read and by now I have read it lots and lots of times!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK AND RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!!
Rating: Summary: The Season of Passage Review: This book was the best that I have ever read. I know the people reading this are getting sick of hearing " Oh, it's sooo exellent. I loved the part where ... and then ... " But, it's true. There is no way that you can understand how great this novel is until you've read it for yourself. Christopher Pike makes you fall in love with all of the characters, especially Jenny, Gary, Jim and Lauren. By the end of the book you will not be the same. The characters that Pike creates you will not want to let go. So, there's my review. If I still haven't convinced you that it's the best book that's ever written, read it for yourself and you'll know that I wasn't lying.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book Pike has ever written. Review: This book looks intimidating at first, but when you get to the end I was left wanting more. Pike develops his charecters wonderfully. I was so afraid for Lauren that I couldn't put the book down I went for almost three nights with out sleep because I had to know what was going to happen. This is probably the best book I have read.
Rating: Summary: Great book, even though it's written by Pike... Review: To be honest, I never would've picked this book up because Pike wrote it, but a friend insisted that I read it, and I'm eternally grateful to her now! I thought this would be another one of Pike's teeny-bopper type books, but this novel is so mature. I just loved that whole twist at the end! Anyways, I think this book should be made into a movie!
Rating: Summary: Pike tries to do too much. Review: With THE SEASON OF PASSAGE, I think Pike tries to do too much. Basically what keeps PASSAGE within the good range is that readers familiar with Pike will recognize some distinct similarities to most of his young adult novels. And the story Jennifer is telling about Chaneen is absolutely fabulous!! If Pike had developed this "excerpt" into a novel things would have been better. Both THE SEASON OF PASSAGE and THE LISTENERS fall under their own weight in my opinion. If Pike had made them more concise like his young adult stuff it would be easier to hold people's attention. No author has ever had me as a loyal reader like our MASTER OF MURDER. That's why I know we've got to let him have weaker moments. TSOP & LISTENERS are good stories, I just think they were developed in the wrong way--for the wrong audience. Maybe Pike will revise these books someday and be more tight meaning taking out things that can be left to the imagination so people can wonder what they mean-- as is the stories give us all the details.
Rating: Summary: This is the BEST book I have ever read. Review: This is the BEST book I have ever read. I love to read and I have read a lot of books, but this is the best. It mixes horror, suspense, fantasy, romance, and more. You name it it's got it. This is the only book I have read more than once and every time I read it I find something new. This is a very intriguing and wonderful book that anyone can enjoy easily
Rating: Summary: Season of Passage Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I do not believe in vampires or the fact that humans were at one time immortal, but this book could make God himself question his believes. I do not have a clue how anyone could come up with such a story, much less make it fit in with an ancient story written by one of the characters. I have read this book five times and still love it every time. This is a must read. I couldn't believe I had reached the last page and wish there was a sequel. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that Lauren had to die in the end. Christopher Pike is the Master of Horror.
Rating: Summary: Lauren Wagner eat your heart out!!!!!!Literally!!! Review: WOW!!!This book is one that I would STRONGLY reccomend to anyone that doesn't want to sleep for a while. The beginning started out like a typical Pike book, and ended with giving me much more respect for him. I've read most all of his books, and I must say this is the BEST he's ever written, the BEST book ever written to be exact. When Jennifer supposedly died, I thought the book would take a spiril down hill, but it proved me wrong. The way that you could feel how Terry felt throughout the whole ordeal was great. This is deffinatly a BIG step away from writing about Alisa Perne (Sita), but it's a GOOD step taken by the literary genius. The book pumpped a large ammount of litery adreneline into me. I couldn't stop to put the book down until I finished the very last word. I loved the whole twist with Lauren and Gary, even Friend touched me. Then when Lauren found out about the wine, that just shocked me. I never would've thought of something like that, and I love writing stories. Then in the end with Jennifer and Lauren, ohhhhh that was just great.
Another one of my favorite parts was the excerpts from Jennifer's story. Briallintly written Pike. I've reac him ever since I was nine. I'm fourteen now, and that may not seen like a long time, but it's been long awaited time that I spent in greed & anticipation waiting for the next Pike book. I have just one word that describes Christopher Pike in a nut shell: The Best, well maybe that's 2 words, so I'll have to change it to THEBEST. There.
Rating: Summary: CAPTURES YOUR LIFE, YOUR SOUL, AND MAKES YOU WONDER! Review: Where do I begin? I'm 14 years old and have been one of Pike's biggest fans ever since I was 12 and read The Last Vampire. To me, Pike is this mystical philosopher and he's everything I have hoped for in the spiritual sense. The Season of Passage, like all of his other creations, is one of the most amazing stories I have ever read. Unlike many other authors, Pike strikes this chord deep in my soul which continues to dwell and I constantly think about the Season of Passage and any other books of his that I feel I can relate to. For example, Sati, is a book about this woman who claimed she was God and in the Last Vampire series, Sita, an ancient loving vampire who has lived 5000 years in this great abyss known as Earth. I wonder if some of Pike's tales are true. What if there is more to this world than what meets the eye? Pike satisfies me in every aspect of my being. My greatest fear has been dying and discovering that there is no God. Pike, a brilliant storyteller, is a messenger from the gods, to teach us, to make us marvel. There is so much more in this beautiful world and let me tell you, once you have read any of his books, you will understand my extreme point of view. And once you do read his books, the world becomes so much easier to live in. JUST READ THEM! PLEASE! And I also want to know more about Pike too. His real name is Michael McFadden and his picture is in the back cover of The Season of Passage. (Hardcover) I would love to meet Christopher Pike one day. And Mr. Pike, if you ever do read this, we, your devoted readers, wish you would come out into the public more! To things like BookFest, we really want to meet you!
