Rating: Summary: My first sci-fi Review: This book was recommended to me by E. Lynn Harris (Invisible Life, etc.). Thank you Mr. Harris for introducing me to science fiction. This book was a page turner. It was suspenseful and full of imagination. I was kinda disappointed at the ending but well everything can't be perfect like Dawit(David). It was very captivating and capture all the characters' strenghts and weaknesses leaving one to wonder if they were immortal what kind of life would they lead. A good reader. I have become a sci-fi fan now and have moved on to the "Queen of Sc-Fi", Octavia Butler.
Rating: Summary: Original, Creative and Historic Review: This book had my interest from the first page. There was enough predictability to make me feel smug until Ms.Due whipped me around with her literary finger. I eagerly look forward to anything else Ms.Due will write and sincerely hope she will renew our relationship with Dawit. The GO ON GIRLS' book club loved it.
Rating: Summary: I can't wait until Ms. Due writes a thrid novel. Review: I recommend this book to everyone. It is a spell-binding novel that allowed the reader to experience many emotions. I forsee a sequel. Oprah needs to add this book to her list.
Rating: Summary: Captivating!!! Review: It's unbelievable!! This book is one of the best I've ever read. I'm hopeful that Ms. Due will write another (I've just purchased "My Soul to Keep.") I can't wait to get started. I cannot compare Ms. Due's writing to anyone else. I don't know any other author that writes like this. She has a unique writing style of her own. Her character development was very good. She managed to throw in some humor, too. Very well done. What's next Ms. Due?
Rating: Summary: A definite page-turner. Taut story with great characters! Review: This is one of the few books in the last couple of years that I have been unable to punch holes in the plot and that impressed me. It was a well-woven story with great characters. I had to find out how the book ended. Perhaps the author will continue to tell the story of these interesting characters...
Rating: Summary: I could not put the book down! Review: The book was excellent! I was glued to the book for the entire day it took me to read it. I felt the characters were real even though it was science fiction. Dewitt's character really gave me goosebumps! The confusion and pain that his wife felt when she discovered he was immortal was so real I cried with her! I would love to read anything else she has written. I recommended the book to all of my friends and they feel the same way I do about it. I also felt The Between was excellent. Keep them coming Tananarive!
Rating: Summary: Great suspense Review: I loved this book. It took me 11 consecutive hours to finish this book. I wanted to sleep but could not put it down. I was crazy with anticipation of what would happen next. If you have a long plane ride buy this book! I never pulled for Dawit (david). He was literally crazy! The only reason I give this book a four and not a five star is because I was disappointed by the ending. It was definitely a shocker! I was upset at Jessica's decisions. But overall I was very pleased.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This was my first time reading Tananarive Due's work. When I starting reading "My Soul To Keep", I did not want to put the book down. The characters were well developed. To an extend, I was empathetic toward Dawit (David), the immortal. I believe he truly loved Jessica and Kira. However, the suspense is what kept the book interesting and kept me wanting to read more. A movie should be made based on this STORY! GREAT job, Tananarive!!!
Rating: Summary: I dreamed of Dawit! I could not read another for a while! Review: This book was so intense that I suggested it to all my friends and they loved it too. Once I even dreamed of the man Dawit, she made him that real to me! after reading it I was so hungry for more. My mind was so in to this book that I even called Ms. Due and told her how proud I was of her work.(even though it was just voice mail). I was so involved in this book that I could not read another book for two weeks!
Rating: Summary: ??????????? Review: Was everyone else reading the same book as me? I am just baffled over what everyone is raving about. The dialogue was off, Due dwelled on what Jessica thought too much, when she was not the real protagonist in the story. This book was so bad that I hesistated to finish but since I paid way too much money for it, I struggled through it anyway. I've heard people comparing Due's work to Stepheh King's. Please. He has nothing to worry about. The only thing scary about My Soul to Keep is that someone found it worthy of publishing.
