Summary: A Crafty Tale
Review: Tananarive Due is the female version of Stephen King. My Soul to Keep is a crafty tale of a secret sect of immortals that will keep their immortality a secret at all cost and have successfully done so until one strays away and falls in love, subsequently creating a family that he can not live without. Good horror fiction although a little long at drawn out at times.

Summary: loved it!
Review: I read this book in two days, couldn't put it down.

and rushed out to Marcus Books as soon as I finished it (my local bookstore to buy books "by African Americans, for African Americans") to get the follow up.

don't forget to buy from local bookstores!

Summary: I'm still waiting...
Review: For sistah girl's new book and the movie version of these fantastic, outstanding novels! I read them sometime ago and then I went back and re-read them both and they are still as fantastic as the first time. I told everyone that would listen about these books.. My Soul To Keep and The Living Blood! The best stuff!

Summary: This One is a Winner!
Review: I had sworn off horror books. They kept me up at night and wondering what was under the bed. Oh well, I succumbed to "My Soul to Keep." What a wonderful book and the premise was so intriguing: a middle-class black family in Miami is not what it seems...the husband is a 500 year old immortal. The flashbacks to some of his earlier lives throughout history were fascinating and his love for his current wife, Jessica, is enthralling. The story of how Jessica comes to discover who he is and what he is, strings you along to the last thrilling page. I absolutely raced to the end of this book and hungrily went out for the next one, "The Living Blood." I became aware of Ms. Due many years ago and just never opened a book of hers, (getting away from that horror thing don't 'ya know). I will never make that mistake again. Bravo!

Summary: Riveting!!!!
Review: Ms. Due did an excellent job @ telling this story - it kept me spellbound from beginning to end. A couple of times, it had me looking over my shoulder in fear! I don't know if I want to read the sequel (The Living Blood) for fear of ruining a good thing. This is a highly recommended read.

Summary: Cover- to- Cover Creepy
Review: I had such a strong response to this book. I found myself shaking my fist, and on the verge of tears toward the end. Dawit is as selfish as he is mysterious. The author builds slowly to the disastrous end. Not one character is left undeveloped. I hope to see more about Jessica in later work. This was my first Tananarive Due novel. What a page turner.
