Summary: You don't need to love vampires.
Review: You don't need to love vampires to love this book as well as all the others in the "Anita Blake" series. ms. Hamillton is one of the most interesting aouthors I've read recently. The characters are well developed and draw you in so tight you start to worry about them like you would an old friend. If you have read the rest of the series you know what I mean...if not,do yourself a favor and curl up with this book as soon as you can.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Exciting, with just a touch of a love story thrown in.
Review: "Guilty Pleasures," a very apt name for a story in which Anita Blake feels the first stirrings of attraction for a vampire, a man whom she should, by all accounts, have killed when she had the chance. But, of course, who could kill the only man who would have the audacity to send white roses to a woman called "The Executioner" by his own people? Certainly, not I, and I've read the book three times already!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Truly great book full of wit and personality.
Review: Guilty Pleasures is a great book! Anita Blake tells her story in Mike Hammer fashion but the stories are truly incredible. The non-stop action, biting (no pun intended) humor, and Anita's "Is that all ya got?" attitude make this one of the most entertaining books I've ever read. I literally couldn't put it down and the only thing that disappointed me was that it was over so soon!

Summary: Anita Blake. Petite, yet deadly.
Review: Anita Blake. 24 years old. Petite. China-doll skin. Has many scars.

Guilty Pleasures is the first book in the Anita Blake: Vampire hunter series. It takes place in St. Louis, the US vampire capital city. Anita lives and works there as an animator. She doesn't draw cartoons... she raises the dead.

The undead, aka vampires, want Anita to find out who is killing many of the local vampire bunch.

Anita doesn't take lightly to their threats. Enter Edward, 5'8", blonde, blue eyes, WASPishly cute. Deadly. Preternatural assassin. Semi-friend of Anita.

While Anita searches for the vampire killer, she has to deal with Edward hounding her for the vampire leader.

Enter Jean-Claude, Master Vampire, follower of the Head Vampire of St. Louis. He has a crush on Anita.

This book series is wonderful! It has everything you could ever possibly want! From Romantic Scenes to Prostitutes in wheelchair! s to fairies to raising the dead. Mystery, suspense, murder, revenge, and pride.

Not only that... our heroine quotes Dr. Seuss to the bad guys.

And, Anita doesn't date vampires... she kills them.

Summary: All the suspense, humor, and light horror one could ask for
Review: Anita Blake is a character you can't help but like. She's tough (but not too tough), she's witty (gotta love her remarks when she's in trouble), and she knows how to find trouble.

The writing is well-paced and has humor sprinkled throughout that really touches the right spot for me. Perhaps we think alike, but I find that just when things are getting too serious, the situation is lightened by Anita's wit.

I love vampire stories and I especially like that these stories don't get wrapped so much around the sexual side of things like Anne Rice's stories so often do. A major change of pace that is most welcome.

Summary: Never Judge A Book Its (Cheesy) Cover
Review: I almost missed this spectacular book because of its awful title and cover. This book, however is one of the most readable and enjoyable novels of the undead since VAMPIRE$ by John Steakly. Just like VAMPIRE$, this book is fast-paced and has well developed characters.Guilty Pleasures is campy enough to be fun,yet is still written very well.If you are a fan of vampire books, you'll be glad you picked up this title.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great, quick, enjoyable read
Review: Great believable characters, good gutsy copy, a quick, enjoyable reading experience. Leaves you wanting more but DOESN'T leave you hanging, plotwise. Intelligent and fun.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Bravo Mrs. Hamilton!
Review: I was recommended this author and I must say that I enjoyed it highly! It has everything I love, vampires, a kick-butt heroine, and lots and lots of action! I might have given this book a 9 except I'm giving this review after I've read the Laughing Corpse! And I liked that better! GP was good but the action didn't really kick in until the end!
