Rating: Summary: A Similar Face Review: ... A seventeen-year-old girl named Laurie Stratton loves on an island. She has a brother named Neal and a sister named Megan. On the first day of school, Laurie met a girl named Helen. Helen taught her about "astral projection." Astral projection is when you sleep; you can go into this whole other state of being. It is really weird. Laurie tried to do astral projection a couple of times but she failed all the times. She tried it again and succeeded. She met this guy named Jeff. Laurie told him all about "astral projection." Jeff's face was burnt because he got in a motorcycle accident. It was really bad. Laurie one night saw this girl that looked exactly like her. She was scared. I personally liked the characters in the story because all the situations could happen in real life. They all were written well. I liked Helen because she was honest to Laurie and that is what friends do, she was very respectful and she taught Laurie a lot of stuff. I also liked Laurie because she was a good main character. She was also very busy all the time with school, friends and family and I can relate to that. This story is very, very scary and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you are person that likes scary books, this is one to read. The author used language that teenagers would use and I thought that was very good. It was very easy to follow because I knew all the words and could understand them very well. The conflicts in the story are very real because when Laurie finds Gordon with another girl, which is very realistic because it happens all the time. I thought the ending was good because I didn't expect it at all. I love books like that. The length of the book was good because it wasn't too short or too long, it was just right. I sort of wanted the book to go on because it was really well written. I just seemed to stop. I would definitely recommend this book to people that like scary stories or people that just like to read any type of book.
Rating: Summary: you wouldn't call it "hum-drum"... Review: Lois Duncan is weird... not that that's neccessarily a bad thing, especially in the world of fiction. I read this when I was 10, and still had an imagination. It gave me the creeps pretty good. You might want to give your kids another year or so before recommending it to them... but I would recommend it, or something else by her. Kids are so aggressively conformist these days, they need the occasional weird book.
Rating: Summary: The Sinister Story of two Separated Sisters Review: I sit sometimes, and I wonder what goes on in a writer's head. Having read books of all different colors and all different moods, I find that some of the author's thoughts aren't always apparent. In reading Stranger With My Face, I found that Lois Duncan clearly showed what she was thinking. She linked key parts in her book to other key parts leading the reader on. She cleverly twisted in and out of the lives of her characters and took me, as the reader, along for the thrilling ride. I loved this book. The plot was unpredictable, and tempting. I could not conjure up a better story line, or better characters that perfectly fill the roles needed to put punch in the plot of this tremendous tale. Personally, I hope to see more books like this from Lois Duncan. I thoroughly enjoy her writing, and hope she uses her phenomenal talent to continue producing masterpieces like Stranger With my Face.

Rating: Summary: Gallows Hill Review: Gallows Hill was about a girl that moves from her home town in California to Pine Crest. She doesn't fit in but she still makes friends so she thinks. Really they are just using her and blaming everything they do on her when they get caught. Further along in the book she finds a note in her locker of a gallows. She tells her mom and soon to be step dad and they don't believe her. She keeps having weird dreams and seeing things. Are these parts of a past...
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I ever read! Review: "Stranger With My Face" was so amazing. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. After recieving my summer reading list for school (yes, I am still in school), this was the first book that I had interest in. The discription that it gave about the book just wasn't enough. I had to find out more. So that weekend my mom took me to the bookstore but the manager said that they didn't have anymore because it was so popular. So after waiting about a week for them to order more, I finally got to read it. It was such a great book that it only took me four and a half hours to read all 250 pages. That's why I say, that if you have the chance to read this book, go for it!
Rating: Summary: Whoa, best of all her books (in my opinion) Review: Since you already read what it was about (i think) i'll just tell you what I thought about Lois Duncan's book, Stranger With My Face. Laurie was a pretty typical girl in the start, but along the traumatizing events which eventually lead back the a very mysterious person named Lia, who is her twin (evil) sister, Laurie starts to change. She has more depth as a person and popularity was not the only thing that mattered to her. Probably my favorite thing about this story was the romance, it was pretty unexpected who Laurie would fall in love with, but then again, once you think about it it really isn't. The plot was totally interesting and kept you on the edge of your seat. I've read all of Duncan's books (almost) and I still think this one is by FAR the best...What are you wasting time reading this review for? Get reading!
Rating: Summary: Stranger With My Face Review: I first started to read Lois Duncan books when my literacy teacher Ms.Cicchillo assigned us a one month project. We had to choose an author and read two books by that author. So I chose to read Summer of Fear and Stranger With My Face. Stranger with my Face was an interseting book. You couldn't tell what was going to happen. I was so into it that I finished it in two days.
Rating: Summary: all out thrilling Review: as a complete crazed fan of any horror book written by lois duncan, i must say that this is another one of her works of art. it's perfect with its storyline and scary villians that go with the story well. the best part of this book is that the story involves more then hack and slash killing. It comes with a love story that truly keeps you guessing until the end.
Rating: Summary: Not my face!!! Review: This is a book about a girl names laurie. She always senses something around her, as if she were being spied. Some of her friends say they see her places, but she says shes never been there. Laurie then finds out she has a twin sister named lia who has the ability to project herself to different parts of the world. She is evil and even causes Laurie's best friend to have a coma. Lia teaches laurie how to do astral projection. It takes a long time. In the end, lia dies because she makes astral projection daily, which means sleeping 24/7. This was a great and very interesting book.
