Rating: Summary: luv it Review: i really luv this book! it is awesome! i found the plot really interesting b/c of the kind of unusual topic, "astral projection". i am using this book for a summer reading project, which is much easier when you like the book you're reading in which case this helped. you really should read it. At the beginning, it kind of starts out slow, but don't worry, it picks up soon after.
Rating: Summary: Stranger with my Face Review: Stranger with my Face is an exciting and mysterious book by the best selling author Lois Duncan. This book revolves around the subject of astral projection or out-of-body-experence. This book is a wonderful young adult book that should be on everyone's shelf.
Rating: Summary: an awesome book Review: If you like mysteries or thrillers, you've got to read all of Lois Duncan's books. This is only one of her many other books which are also as great. This book can really capture what is happening. It's almost as if you are there with the main character, experiencing her every feeling, and you can imagine every scene because the book is written with such great detail. Here's a brief summary of the book, because I would not want to spoil your chances of reading it. It's about a 17 year old girl, who believes she is being spied on. She was sort of an "out-crowd" girl until lately she had been dating one of the "popular" guys at her school and became an "in-crowd" girl. Weird things had been happening also. She was once standing by her mirror and she saw her reflection, make a face that she did not make. She was sure that she didn't smile/frown when she looked at the mirror. She will soon discover a very big that will impact on her life, and will also put her in danger. There seems to be someone who wants to ruin her life, or probably even live it! Read the book, buy it now! You've got to know what happens next...
Rating: Summary: The best book to read, if you love reading about spirits Review: This book is the best, out of all of her books. I love this book. I have read all of Lois Duncan's book but 2. She is an excellent writer.
Rating: Summary: Mystery/ Horror Reader Review: The title of the book that I read was Stranger With My Face, written by Lois Duncan. This is a very good fiction book that I recommend for older teenagers who like the kind of books that deal with mysterious adventures. This book is about a girl named Laurie Stratton who has a very simple, enjoyable life until she finds out many things from her past. Laurie always feels like someone is watching her and when all of Laurie's friends and family claim that they see her places, when she's actually not there, she begins to question what is going on in her life. Her simple, enjoyable life suddenly goes down the drain when she finds out that this identical person that is watching her, is really trying to take over her life. She finds out that this person isn't just anybody, but it's her identical twin sister, Lia, that was separated from her at birth. Laurie and Lia have the exact same physical appearances but the only thing that is different about the two of them is that Lia is a very evil person. Lia only appears in spirit and not in her actual solid body. She uses astral projection to have her spirit leave her body and she becomes Laurie in spirit then. Her goal is to take over Laurie's life and turn it around for the worse. Lia begins to appear in not only Laurie's life but in her friends and families' lives too. She knocks Laurie's best friend Helen unconscious and almost kills Laurie's boyfriend Jeff. With all of the things that Lia is doing to Laurie's life, she becomes more curious to see what Lia's life is like, so she too starts using astral projection to get a glimpse at Lia's life. When Laurie starts using astral projection she realizes that there is many dangers to using it and terrible things begin to happen to her, and this is when her life begins to take a turn for the worse. I would give this book a rating of four stars out of five stars just because both the beginning and the end of the book could have been a little more interesting. The plot was very, very interesting to the point where I couldn't put the book down! I recommend this book to many teenagers and this is an excellent mystery, horror book.
Rating: Summary: Lois Duncun has Done it again? Review: I have liked most of Lois Duncun's books. I picked this one up because it said, "author of Summer of Fear" and that is my favorite book. When I read this I didn't pick up the words. They passed through one ear and out the other. The book looked good at first but it got dull and I couldn't finish it. This book is a good mystery/horror but I couln't pick up on any of the charachters at all. I could barley remember the names of the people. Maybe it's just me but I really didn't like the book
