Rating: Summary: A Very Cool And Scary Book! Review: Stranger With My Face Lois Duncan A Pandey Period - 5 Lois Duncan did a great job with this book. This book is really exciting and scary. Laurie is a 17 year old girl who lives on Brighton Island, she has a perfect life so far she has a cool boyfriend, a great family and good friends. Unfortunately she doesn't know that her identical twin sister Lia wants her body. Laurie and Lia were twin sisters and they were exactly identical except Lurie was good and Lia was evil. Lia tried to get into Laurie's body and take control by Astral Projection. Lia got into Laurie's body and started taking over her life, she hurt her best friend also her boyfriend. Laurie is now scared of losing her body. I really liked the part when Laurie is being accused of something's such as, when she was home in her bed her boyfriend sweared he saw her at the beach with another guy. Even her parents saw her coming back and forth in the house when she was in school. She gets really mad and things just get bad for her. Its even more scarier when Laurie starts believing that someone came in her room and just left. When she was about to go to sleep she was frowning in the mirror but her reflection was smiling. I liked the quote when her boyfriend says, "During the band intermission, I went outside to get some air. The moon was bright, and i saw you." I like this quote because it gets the story started. The quote which really freaked me out was by Lia, "Good night, Laurie. Good night and good bye." This quote was really scary and cool. Laurie was really intimidated by Lia, Lia was ruining Laurie's body by getting into it and doing bad deeds so it looks like Laurie did it. This book is really cool and very exciting and always keeps you want to read more. My favorite part of the book was when Lia or Laurie did the Astral Projection. It was very cool and scary because you get out of your body and go to someone else's. My other favorite part of the book was when Laurie was happy that her and Gordon didn't break up, but she was scared and when she looked in the mirror she had a frown but her reflection was smiling. That is really scary. I enjoyed this book and will give it a 4 star.
Rating: Summary: TERRIFIC, OUTSTANDING, LOIS DUNCAN HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!! Review: This book was the second book I have ever read that was written by Lois Duncan, and I loved it!!! It has mystery and horror all mixed into one story. I recommend this book to those who love mystery and horror books, but if you get scared easily I suggest you don't read this book. The only part of this book that was dull was the first few chapters. All the rest was REALLY exciting. This book is about a girl named Laurie who finds out that she is adopted and has a twin sister named Lia. Lia at first scares Laurie, but soon Laurie wants to be Lia's friend. But, then weird things start happening. Laurie's best friend is found unconsious in the park, and Laurie's boyfriend is missing. Is this all Lia's doing, has she turned evil. Is Lia starting to take over Laurie's life. You will have to read this book in order to find out!
Rating: Summary: Number One Book I Like Review: This book is about an adoptive, seventeen year old Navajo girl named Laurie who just found out that she has a twin, Lia. Lia has been coming to Laurie by astral-projection. Lia is trying to get Laurie to do astral-projection so when Laurie leaves her body, she can take over her body. Lia has done what she was willing to do, but her great life of being Laurie Stratton ends when Megan Stratton, Laurie's adoptve sister, throws a turquiose, eagle fetish necklace at her neck, which is a symbol of protection to the Navajo indians. I realy enjoyed Stranger with My Face. It is a book for people who like mystery stories. This book was exciting, interesting, and mind boggling. I would recommend this book for teenagers because a younger child probably wouldn't understand this as much as a teenager. Teenagers can also relate to this better than younger children.
Rating: Summary: Suspenseful and full of mystery Review: Stranger with my Face is about a seventeen year old Navajo girl named Laurie who was adopted at birth by a loving family. She is popular and very kind. Little does she know that she had a twin. Lia, her twin, appears in places by astral projecting creating the illusion that Laurie is where she isn't. Through the story, Lia tries to mess up her twin's friendships, relation ships, and finally her whole life. During this ordeal, Laurie meets new friends who help her through everything when her other friend wouldn't even believe her. Laurie not only sloves a mystery, but she finds her true self and her backround. She also learns the valuble lesson of friendship. I would definately recomend this book to teens. Those who like mystery and suspense would like it as well as those who don't like to read. This book will get you hooked for sure! Lois Duncan writes it so you get sucked in within the first chapter. Try it!
Rating: Summary: sOoOo cOoOol Review: I give this book 4 stars because it really put me on the edge of my seat because i really thought it was only Laurie's imagination, but when i found out it was her twin sister i was really shocked! =]
Rating: Summary: {:O) Review: Stranger With My Face, is highly interesting and should be read by all Lois Duncan fans around. It is an interesting book if you are into a more far fetched sort of environment. The book deals with things like "astral projection" which is having the capability of placing yourself in another location when so desired. The main character, Lori Stratton, lives at the Cliff House on the northern part of Brighton Island. Lia is Lori's twin sister that was separated from Lori at birth and can travel places through the power of astral projection. Lia is the main cause of the problems happening in the story. Lia begins to appear to Lourie's friends causing problems of all kinds, like putting Lourie's friend, Helen in a coma, which in turn allows Lourie to know that there is an impostor posing as her. Lourie learns that she had a twin sister who was sperarated from her at birth and also begins to learn how to use astral projection. She projects herself to Lia's house to find that Lia had killed her sister by making a horse that she was riding on, land on top of her along with other things about Lia and the story continues. The book is enjoyable but there could have been a better ending. This is why the book will get a 4 star rating. If you like other Lois Duncan classics, you will enjoy Stranger With My Face.
Rating: Summary: After all these years... Review: I read this book when I was a pre-teen and it's haunted me ever since. I'm 33 years old and couldn't remember the name or author, only the feeling the book gave me as an adopted child with a wild imagination. Something in my head clicked today and I searched for the book on Amazon and lo-and-behold, here it was! This is a fantastic read you'll never forget, I recommend it to any young reader, or even an older one like me, as I'm definitely ordering it to re-read and share with other young people.

Rating: Summary: Twin Review: I think this is the best mystery book i have read so far from Lois Duncan. This book is about a girl named Laurie who has a dream of another girl who has the same face. the girl's name is Lia. Lia told Laurie that they were both " two faces of one coin." This wasn't just a dream... it was for real. Lia is the twin sister of Laurie and was separated a long time ago. But Lia isn't here to be friends with Laurie. Find out why she appears and read the book, you'll be suprised.
Rating: Summary: Appeals to all ages Review: I am almost a middle-aged adult but I greatly enjoy Ms. Duncan's books. Though they are geared towards teenagers, they appeal to everyone. This one is about a teenage girl (Laurie) who lives with her successful writer parents and siblings in a New England mansion on an island. The other teenagers from the island are very snobbish against anyone who is not from the island. The teens have a big end of summer party that Laurie is unable to attend because she has a type of flu. However, the gang appears really angry at her because they claim she didn't attend because she was walking the beach with a new boyfriend. Laurie knows that this didn't happen because she was sick in bed. However, two of her friends claim they saw her walking on the beach. Things start to get really spooky when her father then claims to see her in the house when she was at school and then Laurie's sister claims that she was floating outside her high window looking in. To top it off, Laurie senses that another girl was in her room sitting on her bed and looking at some of her things. Then Laurie catches her own reflection in a window with a smile, while Laurie knows she wasn't smiling. Laurie then meets a new girl, Helen, who is from Arizona and definitely not the type of person that Laurie's "friends" would want to know. Helen happens to be real nice and soon becomes Laurie's best friend. Laurie opens up to Helen about all the mysterious things that have been happening to her and Helen suggests it may have to do with astral projection because she knew a Navaho chief who could do that. More intrigue and surprises abound in this well written semi-thriller. To tell any more would give away some of the suspense but Ms. Duncan does an excellent job throughout and the reader should finish this book rather quickly. A great book that you should be able to read in no more than two sittings.
