Summary: great book
Review: A great book, takes place in the Diablo world. Game events or characters aren't mentioned. Has some parallels to Lord of the Rings, like Sauron's ring and Bartuc's armor. Nice descriptions and somewhat scary at times. It is not as good as the Warcraft books though.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Terrible! Considering How Decent The Game Was.
Review: A horrible book! I read a little over fifty pages into this book and the author just could not hook me into it! I wish they would let you rent books at the book store before you buy them, because I had high hopes on this one and didn't have time to read an excerpt from it. I went to reading it right away and as I read further into it, I just simply wanted to burn it! I mainly bought it because I thought it would be a good fantasy story; not like those other fantasy stories with hobbits and whatnot! This is terrible! Action low. Suspense low. A total disaster! I would give this zero stars but Amazon[.com] didn't have that as an option. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT!!

Summary: Not bad, but why not part 2 instead??
Review: At the time (before #2 came it), this was one of the most fun computer games I had ever played.

Summary: Diablo 1
Review: Diablo is magical, adventurous, and exciting. When you read this book you feel like your in the story. The words in the book can be difficult but, the story is fun to read. There are no pictures in the book and this adds to your imagination.

Summary: Now, THIS is more like it!
Review: Finally, Blizzard's best selling, action/RPG "Diablo" game franchise spawns the novel it deserves. Richard Knaak not only nailed the feel of Sanctuary--the world of "Diablo"--but he also breathed wondrous life into its denizens.

A richly textured, deeply engrossing read, "Legacy of Blood" is much more than the archetypal fantasy novel. A tale of the classic struggle of good versus evil, "Legacy of Blood" plays itself out against an extraordinarily well-crafted and recognizably human backdrop. Characters are fully developed, their motivations multi-layered and oftentimes shadowy; carefully paced plots and sub-plots bend, twist, and turn on themselves, while significant revelations are never disclosed in advance.

Richard Knaak also does a masterful job of incorporating the well-established characters and creatures of the "Diablo" game series into "Legacy of Blood." I am a HARDCORE "Diablo" player, fellow purists, so take it from me: if you are buying this novel BECAUSE it is a "Diablo" tie-in, you will not be disappointed. "Legacy of Blood" is a 100% improvement over the laughable "Diablo: Demonsbane."

In the hands of a lesser writer, "Legacy of Blood" could have been a disaster. But, thanks to Richard Knaak's skillful handling of the material, not only do fantasy fans now have a whole new world to explore, but fans of the "Diablo" game series are finally treated to a spellbinding novel that they may take enormous pleasure in.

Summary: book review
Review: From a critical standpoint, Diablo: The Legacy of Blood is a very solid book with only a few minor flaws. One strong point is when Norrec arrives at the Arcane Sanctuary to find the old wizard named Drognan. The whole place is literally upside down, and Drognan has a dinner table set out. What's stunning is the fact that nothing falls off the table to the ground. Not even the wine spills with the table being upside down. One flaw in this book though, and the 2nd and 3rd books in this series, is that when you finish a chapter about one subject, the next chapter switches over to a different scene.

Summary: Great book
Review: i am a hardcore diablo 2 player and an avid reader. I read this book and i found it very deep and well written. And, i don't have low standards. I found myself comparing it to Lord of the Rings and Dune. No one should be disapointed with this book.

Summary: A good read
Review: I am a very big fan of Diablo and DiabloII. I picked up the book out of sheer curiosty. It turned out to be well worth my time. While there was some things in the book that tied into the game, there could of been more. Knaak didn't not put alot of boring details in the book, but made u feel like you knew each of the characters. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Too bland to be Diabloesque
Review: I bought the book thinking that the content would be at the level of the game, but I was sorely mistaken. I thought Knaak failed to reach the level of horror and power the game created. The story was original and interesting, but he really never made it scary. I felt the book was more PG-13, instead of rated-R.

Summary: This is great.
Review: I enjoy playing video games so when I saw this book on the self I had to get it. It has a lot of suspense and even more surprises near the end. I haven't played either of the Diablo games yet but after reading the book I want to. I has everthing for fantasy fans. Ghost, demons, zombies, warriors, magic, and more. I would recommend this book to anyone who like Fantasy type books.
