Summary: Great book ,Fast paced.
Review: This was my first time reading a dean Koontz book and I liked it very much. It had a lot of acton and moved quickly. The plot wasn't that bad either.

However the book wasn't perfect, the characters besides Jack and Penny were...Well like one reviewwer said 2-D. You didn't get to feel any genuine remorse for them during the chase scenes. I also thought it was stupid that all these events happened in one day. Also no matter what it's very hard ro run threw six inches of snow yet alone a blizzard. Another thing is Jack didn't really use any "magic" compared to Lavelle and Carver. I mean if he's the most powerful out of all of them he should have some real "power". However I do understand why Dean didn't make it so.

There were also some inconsistencies since the story took place in one day. You are left with an end to the story, but what about the Carmarzza family, etc. Also wouldn't tennants have heard the gunshots in the appartments. Another I thought was "cheesy" was the ending. It may be gross for some but the ending was...Well you'll see if you read this.

This despite the flaws is stil a great read. However it's a close story it doesn't leave anyhting left to the imgination. And from the begining you could tell the book has a rushed feeling. However this is mt first book by him and it may be his style.

Summary: Koontz: Master of Suspense, Novice of Intelligent Dialogue
Review: OK, I did enjoy most of the chase scenes and the early appearances of the monsters. But the rest of the story was very poorly written. The main characters were incredibly two dimensional and the dialogue was some of the worst I've ever read. Audible groaning is usually a sign that a book is bad for me. Death threat on your kids? Not to worry, you still have time for a giddy, childish romp with one of the worst written females in novel history. Good idea but bad execution, this truly is Koont's dark fall.

Summary: An Awesome Monster Tale, Extremely Scary!
Review: The whole entire story is unrelenting, the imagery of the creatures is truly discomforting. Of all the cheeseball movies made from Mr. Koontz's books (ie. Mr. Murder, Watchers, Hideaway) this book would make a really good movie. That is of course if it got financial backing by a large studio. It plays out like a monster movie and the one chase scene is just plain crazy in the scare factor department. If you like actually being scared by what is deemed as "horror fiction" don't pass this one up.

Summary: Makes you wish for a heart attack
Review: One of the best modern horror stories I have ever read. After the first page it takes all your attention and doesn't let go until some point in the last third, where the story gets a little flat. Sometimes, when someone in the book is in a dark room, it feels like I can't see the text because of the darkness. One of the things that bothers me is the put-on sex scene. Feels like it is there because there must be a sex scene. It doesn't fit to the story at all. But in any other way, a must for all horror/Koonz fans.

Summary: This book is once again pure Koontz!
Review: Ive read almost all of Stephen Kings novels but they just can not compare to Koontz!Dean Koontz books are so realistic that many of the things that happen in his books can happen in real life, and that is what makes them so spooky and hard to put down!Reality-that's scary

Summary: I couldn't put this book down.
Review: I started reading this book one night and couldn't stop reading. I have read many John Saul books, and i enjoy the suspenseful themes he writes. Koontz writes closely related themes. They both write about things that are questionably believable, but they make you wonder. I really enjoy them. If anyone out there has read any really good books that have similar subjects, feel free to mail me.

Summary: The book that can enrich your thoughts in terror.
Review: Darkfall is a story that will keep you in full suspense and horror. It stuns the reader. Who would have guessed that there are other ways Dean R. Koontz can torcher his characters. Portraying voodoo and vicious creatures in the book, he had writtten it to be a imaginative and mysterious story beyond belief. If you want a book you will never put down..this is the book!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very suspenseful
Review: This novel definitely creates anxiety. The pacing rushes forward FASTER than an Elmore Leonard novel...and it pulls the reader along. Very nice, but I actually would have liked to learn more about voodoo and why we are supposed to believe that it can manipulate reality the way it supposedly can. I mean, this guy was opening a gate to Hell; can you forgive me my suspension of disbelief issues?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best Koontz books I've read lately
Review: I think that this book was one of Koontz' more believable books, despite that the main plot revolves around voodoo. Half the creatures in his other books are part human and part who knows what. Very suspenseful, keeps you interested.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of Koontz's best books! Great chase scene
Review: I have been reading Dean Koontz books for about five years, but I am only 14. My mom is an even bigger fan than me and she got me started. I have read about fifteen of his books and I love them all. Darkfall was probably my second Koontz book and also one of my favorites. I almost could compare it to " Intensity". The chase scene was riveting and I couldn't put it down. Whoever has not read this book, I strongly advise you to read it
