Summary: Grea Dean Koontz book
Review: Ive read alot of dean koontz books, he is a great writer. This is one of his very best. His powerful writing and great ability to grab you kept me held throughout the whole time reading the book. It was so gripping it kept me up all night even the second time ive read it.(and ive read it over and over) I wouldnt recomend this for people that hevnt read any Koontz books before though. Its not as scary as some of his other books but the story has an interesting love underline story. Over all you should read it, its a really great book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great and suspenseful
Review: This is one of the best Dean R Koontz books I have read. the basic plot is a little girl who says she is seeing monsters but no one will believe her.Except a certain cop who sees enough proof of his own. Great book suspensfull and scary reads just like a summer roller coaster movie!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: An OK read
Review: Koontz fans will like this book. It starts off with some very strong, spooky, atmospheric writing, as the protagonist-detective's daughter listens to noises at night - then begins to see things...

Now, the story line is not terribly intricate or nuanced; this is hamburgers, not fine continental cuisine, but hamburgers have their place. People who are hip to Koontz's writing will not have any trouble seeing where the book is going after the first twenty pages. Is the (widowed) detective going to break through his beautiful partner's reserve? (Bet on it.) When she argues that he shouldn't bother exploring the voodoo angle, because they're all just frauds and charlatans, is her reasoning sound? (Yeah, right :-) )

Koontz's depiction of voodoo (or vodun, more correctly) is flawed; the Rada=good loa, Petro=evil loa dichotomy is wrong, and the closer you come to the Big Climax, the farther you are from anything that any bocor (evil adept) does or thinks he can do.

But on balance, it's ok. For me, "ok" means three stars. If you are 'sensitized' to Koontz, you might reasonably go to 4.

Summary: Darkfall is one of Koontz's better books
Review: This is a creepy fast paced tale that kept me on the edge of my seat and had me checking for little nasties that might be waiting for me in the dark. I found this to be one of Koontz's better reads in that it was suspenseful and very entertaining with very few slumps in the plot.

Summary: ALMOST--BY GOD, ALMOST--DEAN KOONTZ'S BEST EVER!
Review: I read this shortly after Phantoms, The Funhouse, and The House of Thunder. This book is so scary, I'm afraid to go in my own basement now! I was somewhat disappointed with the explanation for the silvery eyes and noises in the ventilation system, but then again, this was only the fault of whoever wrote the synopsis for it on the inside cover of the book. Otherwise, I absolutely loved this book. DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THE REVIEWERS BELOW ME WHO SAID IT WAS NOT GOOD--IT *was* DAMN GOOD! By the way, don't read it if you have a weak stomach, if you are afraid of the dark, and if you don't believe in the unknown. If you do, you'll probably begin seeing all these silvery eyes surrounding you when you're in your bedroom... Just staring, staring, staring...

Summary: Keep an open mind
Review: I don't recommend this as a first time DK book. All DK fans should read it, though. Fast-Paced, creepy, and a bit on the rushed side. A must read.

Summary: Darkfall: A Dark Disappointment
Review: This is NOT a Koontz classic! This reads like the Sunday comics;

"Don't worry about it." "And thanks for the advice." "Us girls gotta stick together." Rebecca said. "Isn't that the truth." Shelly said. She left the room.

For being a legend storyteller, Dean dropped this one big time! Perhaps because it was one of his earlier works-is the reason for the simplistic approach and plot. One thing for sure, you'll be fast asleep by 9:00pm - instead of the typical Koontz 2:30am page-turner. Whatever, but don't waste your time or money on this one!

Summary: Not one of Koontz' Best
Review: On the positive, the Koontz is very good at writing and pacing the chase scenes. But in writing, he seemed rushed in finishing the novel with an abrupt ending. The character's dialogue seemed kind of 'comic bookish' and stale. The main characters aren't well-developed and seem two dimensional. Koontz is good at action, and the chase scene maintained my interest. But, does anyone see any close similarities between this novel and 'Servants of Twilight'? The chase seemed very similar to me, even down to the blizzard. For a better read, I recommend 'Intensity'. I thought this was a much better novel, with better characters and greater suspense.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Average outing from Koontz
Review: I don't remember this book awfully well, it being a library book and not one from my personal collection. A good book but definetly not one of Koontz's best.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Strong beginning but....
Review: The beginning of this book grabs you right away with curiosity and suspense. The terror keeps up until the last chapter and it seems as though he was just in a hurry to end the book. Great start, but definitely lacking at the finish.
