Review: "Hideaway" is definitely among Koontz's best--and this is coming from a fan who has read every Koontz book published/reissued. His unpleasant imagination is on full display in this one. Unfortunately, the movie of the same name was lacking. I found it interesting that the sickest elements of this book, the symbolic murders, were pretty much left out of the movie. It's interesting that the man who wrote the screenplay for the movie also wrote the screenplay for the film "Seven"--where Koontz's symbolic murders were shown almost exactly. I found that very curious and wondered if Dean had anything to say about it. When will Hollywood make a great Koontz movie???

Review: This was the first Dean Koontz book that I ever read--I never even heard of him when I looked at the synopsis. When I began on the first page, I couldn't let it go. This is such an unpredictable novel with true suspense and orginality.

Summary: Waste of time.
Review: This book was my first Dean Koontz experience and I found myself unfulfilled and confused as to why people rave of his writing. Certainly to read a book as predictable and almost boring as this constitutes a considerable waste of "quality book reading" time. He overshadows this work with religion without even attempting to use fundemental Christian beliefs which only makes you blurt out a sincere "Huh?" when you finally reach the end. I have to honsestly say I did not like any of the characters or feel I was brought into the book to feel a part of it. Perhaps someday I will try another Koontz book. But if this work is any indication, I might as well read tabloids, perhaps they can spark a less predictable ending!

Review: If you start reading this, expect to finish itin one go! It will grab your attention, from Hatch and Lindsey's car accident and his journey to Hell and back to the amusement park climax. It will put you in the twisted mind of a psycho killer and also in the mind of a man falling apart with his vision's of the killer's evil doings. It is truly terrifying and a thousand times better than the movie version(which boasted a great gothic/industrial metal musical soundtrack). READ THIS NOW! The best of Koontz!

Review: I AM PERSONALLY A HUGE FAN OF DEAN KOONTZ, HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. I HAVE YET RUN ACROSS A BOOK OF HIS THAT I DO NOT LIKE. BUT OF COURSE THEIR ARE SOME THAT ARE BETTER THEN OTHERS AND THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST. I JUST FINISHED READING HIDEAWAY LAST NIGHT AND TOWARD THE END IT BECAME SO COMPELLING THAT I COULD NOT PUT THE BOOK DOWN. NOW DO NOT GET ME WRONG I HAVE STRONG WILL WHEN IT COMES TO MOST THINGS BUT NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRIED I COULD NOT GET TO SLEEP UNTIL I FINISHED THE BOOK. I WAS UP UNITL 3 A.M. AND BACK OUT FOR WORK AT 8 A.M. ANF IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!! IF YOU ONLY READ ONE OF HIS BOOKS THIS YEAR THIS SHOULD BE IT BECAUSE IF THIS BOOK DOSEN'T GET YOU HOOKED NOTHING WILL. ENJOY. OHH AND DEAN IF YOUR READING THIS, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I LOOK FORWARD TO MANY MORE YEARS OF READING YOUR BOOKS.
