Rating: Summary: Can't Put it Down! Review: This is one of my favorite's of Ann's sofar! It takes you through the traces of ancient Egypt to the near present... very interesting. You get entranced with her immortal characters and their yet human presence as well. Rumors are James Cameron has the rights and may make a movie of it... so it can't be that bad, right? I loved it. I'll probobly read it again very soon.
Rating: Summary: A brilliant read Review: "THE MUMMY" was a brilliant novel that left me hanging for more. I really enjoyed it but desperatly seek a sequal
Rating: Summary: I wanted to be Julie and have Ramses for myself! Review: What a wonderful book. I enjoyed so very much. At the end it stated there was a sequal, I am in the process of looking for it now. This was the first book I read by Anne Rice, I now want to real them all!
Rating: Summary: Gold spun bandages Review: Egypt and Anne Rice. Great combo. She has done it again with Ramses and company. The characters breath life like people from another time period and caught up in extrodinary circumstances. There are truly some great suspenseful moments, especially the opening. I enjoyed the romanticism between Ramses and Julie (will they, or won't they?). I have to admit enjoying THE MUMMY as much as INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. It is a must for Rice fans.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: I've always taken interest in Egyptology, and Anne Rice is my favorite writer, so I had to try this one. There is not much about the actual Egyptian culture in this novel, but it's a great "What would happen if...?" story. Fun, and it needs a sequel. Amazing, just the thought of passing Ramses the Great on the street.
Rating: Summary: OK, but formulaic Review: It read like an old movie, which I suppose it was meant to. None of the steaminess of the vampire books, this was almost chaste, but beyond that predictable and a little boring. A fast read.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing in both Horror and Romance Review: I can only hope that Anne Rice may continue the saga of the two Damned souls of royalty very soon.
Rating: Summary: Insanely good. Review: This books is in desperate need of a movie to be based on it. It also needs a sequel. Once again, a big bravo to Anne Rice, as she's come up with another winner. Oh, and anyone who thinks this book is boring should probably give up Anne Rice books, because most of her writing is like this. I personally wouldn't have it any other way.
Rating: Summary: Very good book, dull at points, but interesting....... Review: This book, like the rest of Anne Rice's books was very good! As usual, she paints a magnificent picture of the past that Ramses and Cleopatra came from, and the present that they see for themselves. Beautiful imagery, and constant suspense. I think that, of course Ramses was my favorite character, but strangely enough, Elliot Savarell had my votes too. I like the description Anne Rice gave him; of how even in his old age, he was very handsome! Her picture of Alex Savarell had me dreaming too =) The ending was ESPECIALLY cliffhanging, with Cleopatra still being alive, and Elliot and Julie 'starting anew'. I some parts it DRAGGED ALONG, and was a little boring, but it was breif, and if was an overall excellent book. Read it!
Rating: Summary: AMAZING Review: This was the first non-vampire book that I have read of Anne Rice. I am a huge fan of hers and this book just reenforced that. This was one of the single greatest books I have ever read from any author. Anne Rice is poetic about every detail. It is a beautiful book about good & evil, strong & weak, love & hate. Anyone that loves Egyptian history will fall for this book just as hard as I did.
