Summary: The very best
Review: Excluding Vittorio, which I am currently reading, I have read EVERY Anne Rice novel out there. I can say without a doubt that this is my favorite one! I have read it numerous times, along with listening to the audio book. The book is not complicated, the characters are straightforward - but that is not to say simple. The plot carries this novel as much as the characters. The plot is completely engaging, and the end leaves you clamoring, INSISTING on a sequel! The only issue I had with this book was that the ending left you so set up for a next novel that you can almost taste it.

Summary: One of the best books Rice has written
Review: Anne Rice has added a new twist to the stories of the pharohs of Egypt. She has added her flair, color, and magic to the time of Ramses the Great, and she as done the same to the art of archeology and the work of archeologists of that time period.

Rice has brought the legend of Ramses to life .

This is a great read on a rainy weekend .

Summary: Required Reading for the Rice Reader
Review: The Mummy was rather simple, and not as complex and detailed as Rice's other books, but it is still enjoyable. The characters are hard to remember at the start of the book becuase of their lack of disiquishing characteristics, but by the second half of the book, the reader in very much involed with them. Kinda sappy, but a pleasure to read.

Summary: Hooked on Egyptology - where's the sequel!?!
Review: A great, compelling tale with a tantalizing look at ancient Egypt. Humor in Ramses' reactions to modern inventions and social mores, romance in the intensity of his relationship with Julie, a bit of Egyptian history thrown in, vengeance towards those who deserve it, and a great "cliffhanger" as more than one character ends up immortal. I've read other Anne Rice books, with mixed reactions, but this was fantastic - I could barely put it down and was frustrated when it ended. MORE! PLEASE!

Summary: A Beautiful, Romantic, Tragic, and Breathless novel.
Review: I've been searching for years, and I've finally found it. A completely different look at an old story. I've studied Egyptology now for 3 years and have been looking for something believable but still a novel that I could read to completion. Differing completely from the classic horror tales we have been besieged with for years Anne Rice's "The Mummy" delivers. At first reading as Egyptologist Lawrence Stratford finds Ramses body in the strange tomb I think here we go again. The same old lame tail, Mummy comes to life and terrifies neighborhood shuffling around as from an old horror movie. But NO.... from the moment Ramses the Great ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt is found and moved to England then comes to life you are cheering him on while hating Lawrence's nephew "Henry Stratford self centered and destructive.

We watch as the great king becomes Mr. Reginald Ramsey strange Egyptologist learns of our modern world and goes back to Egypt with help and much love from Julie Stratford "daughter of Lawrence Stratford", but I don't want to ruin it for you. You must read it for yourself.

But in the end and even more intriguing for me and yes much to closer to the end then I wanted is the Great Queen Cleopatra slowly recovering from death and tragically becoming and finding herself.

In closing I don't want to give to much away, just read it, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: It was pretty good...
Review: The good thing about was the ending, they did that pretty good. The rest of the book was ok, but it didn't pick up until part 2. That fool Henry has a good fate though...
