Summary: The most boring book I've read
Review: I read the book because of the many recommendations that were made of it. But I can't understand how could anyone like it. It seems that Rice has found a writing formula, and uses it over and over again, plus the novel perhaps can give chills to preteenage girls from the ninth century, but all attempts to schock the reader stays just as attempts. It's amazing just how predictable the novel is, and of course, from the first chapter you can realize there will be a sequel. Please don't!

Summary: one word: SEQUEL! PLEEEAAASSEEE
Review: And at that we NEED a movie... Just think how Ramses would knock the recently released Mummy FLAT? I hadn't even realized that the book was written so long ago... it's fresh, teribbly gripping, and I need a SEQUEL! Lord knows I wanted to SLAP Ramses for awakening Cleopatra... so WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!

Summary: we want some more!
Review: I have completed all the Vampire Chronicles and needed something new to read. A friend loaned me "The Mummy" and now I need my own copy. This one is a definite keeper. Wonderfully written, with captivating key moments in history, as if you were actually there (flashbacks). I most certainly agree with the other comments on this book would make an excellent film. Don't know why nobody has thought on it. Who would consider it, Stephen King or Stephen Speilburg? If a movie is out of the question, a nice 'pick-me-up-where-we-left-off-sequel' will do just fine. Ms. Rice, if there was such thing as 'immortality', it would be nice if you were blessed with the gift, to keep writing, forever, and ever, and ever........

Summary: Incredible book, but leaves you hanging and wanting more....
Review: With this book, Anne Rice not only satisfies the needs of those with a penchant for Egyptology, but also those who love to get caught up in the world of the immortals and fantasy. My only problem is that this book leaves me hanging with a promise from Anne Rice that this story is "to be continued!" Since it was written in 1989, I think letting 10 years go by without a sequel is just plain cruel for those of us pining away for more Ramses and Cleopatra! I think we can wait on another vampire chronical book (even though I love those too). Let's see this series take off as Ramses gets to share his explorations across the centuries and years with us. Maybe we could even see a crossover where Lestat runs into him - who knows?!? Anything is possible!

Summary: This book was excellent!
Review: I must admit I had never read an Anne Rice book before and the only reason that I did read one of her books was thru the suggestion of a friend. After reading "The Mummy", I must admit I am now hooked! I want to read everything Anne writes and I can't wait for Anne to write the sequal to the mummy! I'm can't wait to find out what happens with Cleopatra!

Summary: ancient egypt, immortality, etc.
Review: Yes, this book was written long ago, but I only recenly read it, and loved it, and want to see a follow-up of some sort. I was drawn to this book by its relations with ancient egypt, the mythology, rulers, and such, something that I have always been interested in. Then of course there is immortality, who hasn't thought of such a thing? An incredibly novel.

Summary: A mesmerizing beauty!
Review: As an admirer of the history of ancient Kings & Queens of the Egyptian era, this book kept me so intrigued and interested every moment that when the movie The Mummy came out, I thought it was based on the Anne Rice novel. Of course, it had nothing to do with the book, but I saw it anyway. This book had somewhat of a different twist than those of the vampire novels, yet the characters are still presented with wealth, impeccable beauty, & immortality. But hey, what Anne Rice novel isn't? This book was a nice break from the vampire sequels & I hope a sequel will be out soon. Ten years is long enough of a break.

Summary: fantastic, a MOVIE must be made. It surpasses Titanic.
Review: I love this book because I have always had a 'one wish' type thought and this would be immortality. Exactly as Ramses. This book MUST be made into a MOVIE, the movie makers produce such crap movies today. If any deserved to be made a MOVIE this book does! and I'm certain it'd be a massive hit!!

Summary: This wonderful story cries out for a sequel!!!
Review: This story is fast paced, quick to start and full of emotion. Once you begin you won't be able to put down. Where is the sequel, Anne? Please! The characters are believable, who doesn't fall for Ramses? The villian is enjoyable. What heart-wrenching emotion!
