Rating: Summary: WHAT THE? Review: THE FIRST PART OF THIS BOOK WAS GREAT, THE AUTHOR MUST HAVE RAN OUT OF IDEAS AROUND PG 200 BECAUSE IT JUST GETS REALLY WEIRD. THE ENDING IS JUST SO FAR OUT THERE IT IS KINDA FUNNY. I COULD NOT EVEN FINISH THIS BOOK IT WAS TOO PAINFUL. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Good Idea, Bad Book Review: First let me start off by saying I love Dean Koontz books and I have read most all of them but I was very disapointed with this one. It was very boring and had a horrible ending. Worst Dean Koontz book ever. Go buy Strangers of Watchers if you want a good book that won't leave you disapointed.
Rating: Summary: Cold Fire Review: A great book! Edge of your seat suspense. Loveable characters. Wonderful
Rating: Summary: Fear Nothing Review: I have read ALL of koontz's works....but this..WOW! I couldn't put it down! by far THE VERY BEST suspense\horror novel ever written. I've read King to Clancy to Cook to Grisham, they are all wonderful but this is a must! I have all 3 editions. I still read it over and over! You'll wake up in a cold sweat from it! Christopher Snow and the other charcters are done so well you'll swear you've known them all your life! For old, new and undecided Koontz fans alike. If your looking for a good book take the plunge! Trust me You WON"T REGRET IT!
Rating: Summary: Cold Fire sizzles Review: After seeing his sketchy film adaptations, I was wary of Dean Koontz's work. COLD FIRE was the first Koontz book I ever read in full --the others I had tried were too bizarre for me-- but I do not think that it was the mood I was in that was responsible for my loving this book. It was intriguing, original and fast-paced. There's nothing more I dislike than a book weighed down by extraneous details. The pages fly by, resulting in a wonderful text I wish I had written. Bravo to Koontz, and I look forward to more of his work.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining...if a bit silly Review: Howdy folks. This novel, though probably not Koontz's best, is suspenseful, amusing, romantic, and intentionally humorous (the scene toward the beginning of the novel in Holly Thorne's newsroom was very funny, in my humble opinion). oh..and is it scary! YUP! well, if u can handle a bit of scifi weirdness it is anyway. the reason i took a star off my review is because of some silliness (e.g. a giant insect attacks holly! ). but despite (and for some readers maybe because of) these odd touches, Koontz has written a memorable and downright spooky scary narrative. All in all, not Koontz's greatest book, but one his fans will probably want to reread anyway:0)
Rating: Summary: A good Koontz book but not one of his best. Review: I usually have difficulty putting a Dean Koontz book down. This one though seemed to drag at times. I have read a lot of his books though and this one is a good one.
Rating: Summary: Confusing, exciting, and all around spine tingling!!! Review: I have read almost all of Mr. Koontz's books. I have always loved how decriptive he can be. It's like watching a movie without the screen. I enjoyed the characters and thier heroing experiences. The twist with the aliens threw me way off track. I didnt know where the story or characters would end up. This book kept me excited the whole way through. Koontz is one of the best.
Rating: Summary: The one that started it all! Review: A combination of Outer Limits, the Twillight Zone, and X-Files, I believe this is the best Koontz book I've read to date. It was the first I ever read by Dean Koontz, and maybe the first one leaves a lasting impression so deep it will always be the reader's favorite. The elements I appreciated most included that the protaganist's quest was to save lives, the author's use of character development and language, and that in the end, the cause and effect are to be found within human nature, which is surely stranger than any fiction. Thanks, Dean, for a keeper!
Rating: Summary: Bizarre yet compelling Review: This is one of the most bizarre Koontz novels I have read. Compelling and memorable but didn't make complete sense to me. I did manage to rewrite the mass killing scene even gorier though.
